Good Morning Sunday 24th March 2024

Good morning from North Yorkshire. It’s mild today. I’m hoping the wind has settled down. It was really cold yesterday and took your breath away.
DD2 and I loved the museum. All the fashion section was interesting and it was great to see the fabulous Vivienne Westwood collection. We had a pub lunch then drove across to Leyburn in the next dale.
Today we will go to the garden centre then pot up some dahlias etc before our roast beef dinner.

Good morning from Durham. It’s bright and sunny, which is the opposite of the forecast. I suspect it’s cold too.
I couldn’t settle to anything yesterday, inside or out, so after a hot bath, I had an early night.
I’m meeting DD2 for a quick coffee this morning, then I’ll bring her laundry home with me. My weekends seem to be either ‘full on’ or empty. I was going to treat the lawn, but no rain is due, so I’ll have to hang on for a while yet.

Good morning from a sunny Suffolk where we had weather like others have described. We went to Southwold so the dog could go on the beach as dogs are not allowed from 1st April to 30th September. We arrived in sunshine and left about Oban hour and a half later in rain and hail showers.

The rooks continue to be busy nest building…..16 nests so far high up in a copse of elms. Fascinating to watch as they seem to work so co-operatively.

It is in weather like this,sunny but quite chilly,that I appreciate the summerhouse where we can watch all the goings on in the garden whilst enjoying being comfortable and warmed by the sun through the glass.

Hope today is a good one for all,especially those unwell and/ or with worries.

Good morning all from a sunny Glasgow, where it is 3°C.

A quiet day planned, yesterday was unexpectedly busy. Microsoft decided to update my emails to a newer version( which I had been resisting) and I couldn't access my emails, including my Diocesan one. This meant I couldn't get into the parish website, to upload the bulletin. 😡
A ten minute job took two hours!
To top it all, I was so tired, I didn't read the bulletin, (which I always do) before sending it to subscribers. The PP had got someone to write it for him, but was full of errors, so I was swamped with calls, texts and emails alerting me. That will teach me not to proof read!!
The PP got the razor sharp, end of my tongue last night.😉

Baubles, Mass was very long last night, I eventually had to sit down during the Gospel. Be warned!

Dollie and her family have a bug, but I cannot go near them, to see if they are OK. My consultant has warned me I am at high risk of catching an infection just now. ☹

Hi from a sunny central Fife, looks a good day to do the bedding unlike the past 2 days it was so windy could hardly stand up! Hope everyone has a good Sunday

Despite the cold my surviving plum tree is showing signs of blossom so I am thrilled as last year it cropped so heavily I thought it was having a final fling. Always something in the garden to bring hope.

Only one service for our four churches this morning and parking will be difficult so need to leave early to drive up the hill, but it will be well worth the effort. Nothing else planned but Sunday paper and finishing William Wilberforce will fill the day.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a sunny, but very windy, South Yorkshire. Yesterday afternoon I managed to get the bed in the lower bed weeded and all the pots of overwintered pots tidied up. The hostas could really do with dividing and repotting but it will have to wait until I have some capable help, and some spare pots.
DD and the menfolk were supposed to be coming for lunch later today but now can’t, as GS has to be somewhere, so they will call over for an hour this morning for coffee and bacon sandwiches. I’ll take what I can get!

Good morning from a dry NE where it is very windy.
DS and GD2 arrived at lunchtime yesterday and stayed until after 10pm.
I caught up with all their family news and GD told me "oh by the way I did my grade 5 piano exam on Monday ", she is so nonchalant.
Tomorrow GD does a full day at school then returns at 10.30pm for a holiday in Normandy, I do hope she can sleep on the coach.
DD and SIL are visiting this afternoon and we will be having a vegetable curry.

Morning, sunny and chilly in S Hants, windy later, we too had hefty showers yesterday.
But, I drove my car yesterday with slight discomfort, but perfectly safe, so tomorrow, I’m off to the car wash, no seagulls, it’s just grubby.

Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny but probably chilly Carlisle. Thankfully, the icy wind has dropped.
Yesterday I popped over to Sainsbury's which was back to its usual calm 8am self unlike last week's chaos.Then it was back to read the papers and finish my book whilst it showered away outside.
Today I have various little jobs lined up like hanging a picture and, if I feel like being a martyr, washing out plant pots. We'll see!

Good morning on Palm Sunday from a very cloudy and windy Northampton. No plans made for today, so will just see how it goes. Read the papers, write my Easter cards, and catch up with some tv this afternoon, I expect.
Remember when I was a.child that we would have pussy willow branches to wave in church while we sang a Palm Sunday hymn.

A pleasant visit to the shops yesterday; met some ex-colleagues and we had coffee together and a good catch-up.

Cut the front grass yesterday afternoon, and then watched Women's Six Nations on tv. Wishing England good luck this afternoon when they play Italy.

Dry, cold and sunny here in Lancashire. Slept really well after yesterday’s trip. The M and S at Cheshire Oaks is enormous!
Wish we had one nearer to home.
Off to church with sister and bil, the first time in that church since mum’s funeral two years ago. 😥

Good morning all from a sunny/showery 8° on the Angus coast. Yesterday I was shocked by a particularly sudden hail shower accompanied by roaring wind - until I realised it was a tractor in the field spreading fertiliser!! It was cold enough for hail and the wind was strong ......
Long chat with Lovely Gardener yesterday. His first wife died of cancer about 12 years ago and he cared for her to the end. Now his partner, they've been together about 4 years, is awaiting a diagnosis of lung cancer. Life can be so unfair sometimes.
I'm sitting back on my laurels today (in the warm sun in the garden room no less) because I got all 'admin', both home and Tai chi, out of the way yesterday. If I had a strong point, it wouldn't be that so I'm more than happy with myself. I shall waste spend today patting myself on the back!
I've just had a text from DD saying she and her girls have just landed back at Edinburgh airport after two glorious days in sunny Porto. Once she's settled the girls back home she'll be off driving down to New Man's in Notts. DGD3 and her boyfriend are driving down to join them this week for a few days and Dancing GD and her friend the following week - working round their job hours during the Easter hols from College and uni. I can't keep up with all their comings and goings!
Grandmattie I used to love all the DGD's school shows. But the end of an era is coming up with Dancing GD's Finals show at the beginning of May 🥹

Good morning Mick and all from Berkshire where the sun has taken his hat off.
Craft fair yesterday in nearby village then on to see DDs friend and two lovely kittens. Strong gins partaken. Italian meal with wine and then a play in Windsor, which didn’t thrill me.
I don’t usually drink so am feeling the effects today.
Quiet day but a little trip out into the countryside.

purplepixie I'm so sorry - letting go if our young is so hard. But cheer up - this is only a thought he's having. But it's a chance for you to get your head slowly round the idea that one day he really might move further afield. Just remember that these days everyone's linked by WhatsApp and face times and zoom - they're only a click away. 🤗

Marydoll I did wonder about this week’s bulletin- definitely not up to standard. I’ve just started a new job as ……a proofreader! Finished my second project today - part 2 of a trilogy set in Calais, London and the world of MI5.
Used to hate Palm Sunday gospel, it’s a penance!

I just felt unwell yesterday and it was sent late to me. I thought I had got away with not checking. .
