I took my dog for a walk about 4.30 today. The skies darkened, sleet and hailstones rained down. Oh joy

It was like winter in the woods today with the spaniel, overcast grey skies, bitter wind and raining, even the poor sheep were huddled together under the trees, they look as fed up as me☹️

Don't be too disheartened. It often means it will rain at some time each day ,but not necessarily all day. eg yesterday rain was forecast, but not till the afternoon, so I managed to dry washing outside (bliss!) before it rained. Blue sky here now, too. Probably won't last!,

After reading the start of this thread earlier in the day, and looking at the forecast, I was all ready for a downpour type of day.

But actually we probably had quite a bit more dry weather than wet. Today anyway.

Hmm. Here’s a view of the hail from inside my car this afternoon.

Well, it makes a change from rain, I suppose.

It mostly rained again all day here and been so cold. It was 2.5 deg when I went out at 10:30am and had gone up to a heady 3deg by midday. The hills all around are snow-covered. We had a torrential downpour at about 6pm. We also had 30 mins of sun mid afternoon, when our solar panels topped up the battery a bit.

The same again tomorrow, except with high winds as well. 😩

I’ve had enough too, grass can’t be cut, it’s sodden, water butts capped off ages ago to stop overflowing and heating still coming on. I’m not booking any UK short breaks for us until I see a last minute opportunity of a few dry days.

Moving the last of the garden pots out of their Winter storage today I was startled to find tough marsh plants had taken up residence in among the geraniums!

On the up side my rhubarb is doing really well - it likes all this water very much.

Send some over here, please. It hasn’t rained properly since February and everything is shriveling up and dying. I love the sun but we really need a downpour.

Hmm. Here’s a view of the hail from inside my car this afternoon.

Yes, we had hail here too.
It was sudden and very noisy.

Sat in bed at 1am and it is throwing it down - high winds alongside the rain forecast for all day on Thursday.

I will go out in most weathers to walk the dogs, but this morning we'd be swimming. Hopefully the hounds won't be too cross to wait until later if the rain eases off.

My spaniel usually gets out of her cosy bed to greet me when I go downstairs in the morning. Today, she stayed put until my cup of tea was made and I opened the door into the garden. She needed encouragement to get up and go out to toilet. This achieved speedily, she ran back in like a whippet. It’s grim here, cold, grey and yes, more rain.

The sun is actually shining atm, but, there’s always a damn but, rain and high winds from twelve for the rest of the day, oh the joy of a woods walk with the spaniel to look forward to!
Might have to have a hot X bun and hot chocolate after that, this damn weather is being blamed now for the extra inches on my backside😳🤣

Woke up to a glorious blue sky.
Now it's raining again.

It's been snowing in Devon and parts of Wales.

It has been fairly bright this morning, but is clouding over now I'm about to venture out to the washing line.

My trusty app tells me washing should dry in this area.

Not so sure.

Alexa has just interrupted Classic FM to tell me that there's a flood warning out for out district... Again.

Had a walk down my usual path but today it was like a quagmire. I like the river running fast though over the waterfall. Sunny earlier but more heavy rain due.

It's really blowy here, and getting more grey by the minute.

It is very depressing to think about all the poor people who have been flooded over the past few weeks. Rain rain go away and come back in the sea!

S West Wales. Woke up to sunshine but by 10o’clock it was raining. Cold and windy too. DD who lives near , but on higher ground has had snow. Thank goodness we haven’t to go out
