Picked a pack up in a hurry - lemon and white chocolate!!
Why on earth are Hot X buns ever buggered about with - the traditional recipe is so nice.
To me, white chocolate is the work of Satan anyway. 😈

I like just the traditional HC buns but they are lovely with a slice of mature cheddar sandwiched inside.

I was happy with traditional ones from Lidl. I had to buy 2 packets. One was described as luxury so I had to check the difference. πŸ˜ƒ

Yours look fab Joseann
I used to bake ours but now I can't be bothered to assemble the ingredients
the slippery slope.

I just bought some triple chocolate

I have no shame lol

So have I.
They're lush.
I don't like the traditional ones.

Thanks, though I think Paul Hollywood needs to take the credit.

I've still got 4 left today!

They look yummy Joseann.
I prefer traditional ones but I do like the blueberry ones from M+S.

My DS brought me a pack of Waitrose's 'St Clement' hot cross buns, allegedly orange flavoured. I couldn't detect much in the way of orange and there certainly didn't seem to be any spice. Their 'richly fruited' ones are more successful but not very spicy. I managed to avoid the chocolate versions which I consider to be an abomination! Best of the supermarket ones so far have been Sainsbury's which contain 'Chilean flame raisins' making them nicely munchy.

I am a traditionalist too although the cheese ones from M and S looked lovely in the ads on tv. DH bought some and they were a big disappointment so back to the traditional type this weekend.

When I was at DD’s last week, there were 3 HCBs in a pack - hot chilli!! - or some such flavour, also picked up by DD’s MiL by mistake.
I did try one - it was beyond foul.

They went in the food waste bin. We would have put them out for the birds, but thought hot chilli might not agree with their little tummies.

M&S were offering -trying to offload- some chilli ones one year, 2-4-1 so I bought them for Mr PG who loved β€˜em! I’m a can’t beat ordinary ones, buttered, girl πŸ˜‹

The chilli ones are nice 😁
