Hi, I’m new to this group. Recently retired and finding most days just feel empty, like I have no purpose. Any suggestions?

If you've only recently retired you may not feel like getting back into commitments yet. All the posters above have given good ideas but you could just get in your car, on a bus or train and explore places you haven't been to. I find it takes up much of an enjoyable day if you stop for lunch.

That sounds a sensible plan. I should do more of that.

First find something you enjoy doing.. walking, yoga, art, history, crafts, sciences whatever.. then join a local MeetUp group or U3A etc and through that you should find purpose and friendships.. that's what I did when I moved.. research on-line there is masses out there and it could be zoom groups if you are a bit isolated..

Reading through the thread, 2 things came to mind
1. Think about hobbies you once had, but gave up due of lack of time. Or would you like a new skill eg learn piano, a new language etc?
2. Get a bus pass for those 'jump on a bus not knowing where it's going' moments

Hello and Welcome Grans25. If you have only recently retired just enjoy t hat you don’t have to get up for work every day and can do what you like.
Do you have friends family to meet up with for lunch or a coffee maybe.
I support the volunteering option, also u3a or book groups etc.or days out to different places. NT or EH might be worth joining.
The weather lately has been dreadful which makes things harder but the clocks have gone firward and summer is on its way - at last! Enjoy your freedom to do nothing or something, it doesn’t matter.
