Good Morning Everyone,
Up early its dark but dry outside here in brackley at the moment.
Busy start to the day once breakfasted will get ready for the coach trip to Weston -S -Mare .
The coach journey starts at brackley with pick ups to Moreton in Marsh ,then onto a service stop at Gloucester services , prior to Weston.
Forecast I gather could be changeable so as its early season will try and get as much shelter if it rains allot .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning Mick, I think it’s dry here in S Hants, coughing has me up at this hour, I hope you have a lovely trip to Weston, a favourite place.
Newspaper today, my weekly treat, some washing to do, bathroom cleaning, sport to watch this afternoon.

grandMattie Sat 06-Apr-24 05:48:17

Good morning from a damp Bristol.
jax, I’m sorry about your cough, hope it settles down; Mick enjoy your day out. Never been to Weston, perhaps I should go soon…
I spent most of yesterday asleep as I felt really unwell, nothing I could put my finger on…. Got up for dinner of cheese and biscuits as although I had a very nice soup, I didn’t feel like anything.
I feel a great deal better today, so shall see how it pans out.
Have a good weekend ; Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from s somerset, windy and mostly dry today. 17 degrees outside at 5am

Saturday and a change of pace, the weekend always needs to be the weekend and involves change of pace and activity for me. It is too windy with mucky lanes here, so no bike riding but I will walk into town, buy myself a treat or two and wonder around the two charity shops, chatting as I go

I could go visiting by car but the wind could bring trees down as they are in leaf and the soil is very wet and loose. It is definitely a stay-local day for me today and maybe I will buy a newspaper

Have a good day

Ashcombe Sat 06-Apr-24 05:58:26

Good morning from a dry and mild (14deg!) Torbay.

I’m sure you’ll enjoy your day out, Mick, and I hope it isn’t too damp.
Bad luck, regarding your cough, Jaxjacky; I hope it soon clears.
I’m sorry to hear you’ve felt unwell, grandMattie, although I imagine the journey home from your lovely holiday must have taken its toll. I hope time and rest will help you regain your equilibrium.

This afternoon, we have a farewell cream tea event at a local hotel for our parish priest who is retiring after this weekend. He will be greatly missed as he’s a wonderful pastoral leader besides preaching excellent sermons.

Wishing you all a good weekend. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

brook2704 Sat 06-Apr-24 06:10:52

Good morning everyone from Inverness, I think it’s drizzling and damp outside
Sorry to hear you’re still coughing Jax hope it improves soon
No wonder you’ve been feeling tired gMattie I always find travelling very tiring but good that you’re feeling better today
I’m awake early for no reason so just brought a cuppa back to bed. It’ll be a quiet day here today, I’d love to get out in the garden but it’s forecast to be wet - again!
Enjoy your cream tea this afternoon Ash and the farewell get together for your PP
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning from South Lanarkshire where, wonder of wonders, it isn’t raining. Calm before the storm methinks.

Enjoy your trip Mick.

DGD and I had a fun couple of together yesterday while the youngest napped and the middle child was out with her mother. What a difference it makes having one to one time with a child who can sometimes be a bit over excited.

I’m tired and rather sore this morning although I spent most of the day sitting.

I’ve a couple of parcels to pick up today and out bedding to change but that’s about all that needs to be done so we will just coorie in if the expected storm arrives.

Have the best day possible everyone.

cornergran Sat 06-Apr-24 06:14:18

Morning Mick, morning All. Our corner of Somerset is forecast a largely dry if windy day.

Enjoyed Tai Chi yesterday, fewer people than usual which allowed the instructor a good view of me sitting, she was concerned, no need, I was OK, just wobbly legs.

Not sure what today will bring. Even less sleep than normal for me, only 3 hours. I’ve rested lying here reading.

Perhaps a long journey and insufficient sleep caught up with you grandmattie. Pleased you feel better. Enjoy Weston Mick. A regretful goodbye today ash although the cream tea sounds good.

Enjoy what you can of the day everyone.

Oopsadaisy1 Sat 06-Apr-24 06:17:16

Good morning, most of the forecast bad weather should miss us today, but I dare say we will get some rain.

My first day of feeling better yesterday, although I slept until 10.30! But I got a lot of housework and washing done, so good not to feel dizzy all of the time.

An easy day today, dog is here until this afternoon so we will very likely have a wet and muddy walk this morning. As she gets older she is more reluctant to go for a walk if it’s wet, she would rather sit in the garden under the hedge and watch out for the rabbits.

Have a good day Mick we haven’t been to Weston-Super -mare since our very wet honeymoon, I dare say it’s changed after 53 yrs!

Hope all GNs who feel unwell get better soon and have a good day.

Bellasnana Sat 06-Apr-24 06:33:04

Good morning from Malta where it’s another sunny day with a high of 27°C forecast.

Enjoyed my few hours with the boys yesterday. They cheer me up so much.

No big plans today.

Enjoy your day out Mick, hope the rain stays away for you.

Best wishes to all for a good Saturday.☀️

Grammaretto Sat 06-Apr-24 06:57:38

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. It isn't raining!

I was quite unwell yesterday but after a day of doing nothing and a codeine induced sleep last night, I am feeling a bit better now. I sympathise with the cough jax

I hope the roofer appears today. The leak is very bad.

Your coach trip sounds fun Mick
I hope you have a better day gMattie and you too
Baubles although it sounds like the DGC are a tonic.

Enjoy your cream tea Ash
I hope the day goes well for everyone.

Good morning from a very windy, damp Cornwall. Exciting weather. There should be some splendid seas crashing in today so I'll get the bus to the sea front and watch the waves. The gulls are squabbling above my head but the resident pair ignore me when I'm on my patio even though they're only six feet away.

I'm bursting with energy so had better get dressed and get out and about! Enjoy Weston Mick.

RosesandLilac Sat 06-Apr-24 07:10:33

Good morning, it’s a damp start to Saturday here in south Glos, there are patches of blue sky so hopefully it will brighten up.
I got all the washing line dried yesterday so very happy, changed the bed too to grab the opportunity to dry it outside. Ironing to do this morning then all done 👍
Poor night’s sleep again, I was aware that my heart was missing beats. Most odd. I have the long-awaited telephone consultation in two weeks so I will tell him but I hold out little chance of anything being done 🤷🏼‍♀️with the way things are in the NHS here. Apparently our surgery could close so I really don’t know what will happen then as any within 10 miles have closed their lists and transport if you don’t drive is non existent.
Anyway, hoping for a sunny day and I’m sure I will find plenty to do!
🌹

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is 9°C,

Enjoy your trip Mick. Our first holiday together after we were married was a GoldenRail one to Weston, it took twelve hours to get there from Glasgow!

I don't plan to do much today, apart from fixing a few glitches on the parish website. The dreaded cough is back, so any activity needs to be gentle. April for some reason always brings asthma flare ups, it must be something to do with pollen.
I have started my prescription antihistamines, in the hope of keeping things dampened down.

GG I hope the steroids are starting to kick in and for GM and Grammaretto, that you feel better as the day goes on.
Baubles look after that back.
We need you and Grammmaretto fit for our meet up.

Enjoy your day folks.

Grandmabatty Sat 06-Apr-24 07:14:38

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 10° and dry. Such a contrast from yesterday! GrandMattie I'm another who thinks your travels have caught up with you. Mick have a lovely trip. I have never been to Weston. Ash a lovely afternoon but tinged with sadness for you all. Jaxjacky I hope your cough subsides.
Yesterday I got all the washings done apart from bedding which I'll change today. I pottered about indoors because the weather was so awful. At night DD video called me with Dsil and the boys who look to be having a great time.
Today I'm meeting a friend for breakfast. We usually catch up every couple of weeks and it's always nice to see her. Then I'll head home and faff about. I'm not sure if this storm is to bring more rain or just wind. It's not been a great Easter holiday for schools here with so much rain. Macaroni cheese for dinner. Have a good day all.

kittylester Sat 06-Apr-24 07:30:11

Good morning all from a brightish, cloudyish North Leicestershire.

After a very eventful week, we were hoping to have a quiet weekend but.....the Ring has disconnected from a couple of the Alexas, there is a second viewing of the house next door and the potential buyer has asked to come and chat to us about the village and then the vendors (who now live in St Andrews) are calling in for a cuppa and a catch up.

Have the best day possible everyone.

luluaugust Sat 06-Apr-24 07:31:28

Good morning from a bright W Kent. A trip into town this morning to sort out the cleaning and valuation of a couple of family rings. I can’t wear them any more and want to pass them on to DDs I just hope one isn’t glass and the other has some value. Later a pile of washing needs doing.
Take care everyone.

Susan56 Sat 06-Apr-24 07:42:51

Good morning from Shropshire.Sunny and strong winds forecast today.

We have been in West Wales for a few days. The children were well behaved and enjoyed the beach and meetings with family. The journey home was a bit fraught with DGD having a couple of heavy nosebleeds.

Today I will do laundry while grandpa takes the children to their clubs.Hoping DD is feeling better. She had a severe reaction to the antibiotics she was on so started a different one today.Depending on how she is depends on whether the children go home but fine either way with us but obviously hoping DD is feeling better.

Hope all under the weather start to improve.

Grammaretto I am really hoping the roofer turns up today. What a worry for you.

Thoughts with Kalu and Urms.

Have the best day you can everyone🦩

Gingster Sat 06-Apr-24 07:43:47

Good morning and it’s calm here at the moment , weatherwise, here in Essex.

We had planned to travel to Suffolk tomorrow but parts of the A12 will be closed for the entire weekend, reopening on Monday morning, so we’ll travel up then 🤞. This will cause chaos for alternate diversions. There’s no pleasure in travelling any more is there! 😤.

We saw db1 and his wife yesterday for a coffee and chat. We’ve arranged a get together with other db and nephew and his wife. It gets increasingly difficult to find a date to suit all.

Met up with our Friday pals and caught up with their news.
Not sure how long the landlady can keep going. 90 yrs old with no help , is taking its toll. I think we’ll soon have to find somewhere else to meet. Been going there for over 40 years. 😥.

Not sure what today brings so will just play it by ear.

I hope all those in the west survive the Storm without too much disruption.

Take care 🌷

Ladyleftfieldlover Sat 06-Apr-24 07:44:19

Morning all from a damp looking West Oxfordshire. I’ve been to Weston once and all I can remember is that the sea was very far away!
I must post the present to my new great niece in Australia. Also housework beckons. A quiet weekend after last week’s busyness, and next weekend promises to be busy too.
Have a good day everyone.

Pittcity Sat 06-Apr-24 07:48:58

Good morning from a bright, warm Colchester. Sun, breeze and 20° is today's forecast. Summer for a day. High pollen count though.
I've got washing on for line drying and a pile of ironing that dried outside yesterday.
DS and I will have a quiet day and spend time in the garden.
Love to all 🦩 x

GrannyGravy13 Sat 06-Apr-24 07:55:08

Morning all, it is 15° here in S E Essex, with blue in the sky, I can see a fair bit of movement in my garden trees.

Sorry you are feeling poorly grandMattie I hope it’s just the travelling which can take a lot out of you, especially after your recent troubles. Ashcombe enjoy your afternoon tea, I rarely have one as DH is a dinner person and I find it difficult to fit in a tea and dinner. Marydoll coughing is so tiring, as I am finding out once again.

Not such a peaceful day as I needed (nor expected) yesterday. The Imp was poorly including D & V, DD had to go into work as one of her brothers was very poorly and the other is starting to feel off so she dropped the boys here. The Imp just wanted to be cuddled and slept on and off all day, it was their weekend at their Dad’s but he didn’t want to go, so he stayed here for a sleepover with DD. (They are both still asleep)

The steroids and antibiotics are beginning to work their magic, the cough is keeping me awake, but I am beginning to feel a bit more like me .

I am rather sad, that a treat from me (The Easter break away) has made nearly all of us so poorly, I can only guess that one of the children were incubating the bug and it was shared through all the cuddles, kisses and close contact.

Wishing you all a pleasant Saturday 🙋‍♀️

monk08 Sat 06-Apr-24 07:56:12

Good morning all from a sunny but very windy Black country.
Yesterday the wind dried the washing a treat even managed to get it all ironed and put away.
Today a trip into town I need to go to the bank.
DiL birthday today but will not be seeing her they're away with her family back tomorrow.
Out with friends this evening.
Mick enjoy Weston.
Will catch up with everybody's happenings later usual full English calling.
Have a lovely day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

RosiesMaw Sat 06-Apr-24 08:05:44

Good morning from N Bucks where it is again sunny with blue skies but a brisk breeze. Another day for cold washing a few of my winter woollies before packing them away.
GM I am not at all surprised you are tired and hope that a few quiet days restore you to your normal self. I am usually wiped out the day after travelling anywhere whether driving or train and unfazed by it. Your journey home alone sounds stressful and badly timed arriving in the middle of the night as you did.
Some people seem to be enjoying a mini heatwave- temperatures of 17 and over while the rest of the country shivers or dons its wellies- a day of two halves? Or just April?
Wishing you all a pleasant day and some relief from being poorly or worried.

Whitewavemark2 Sat 06-Apr-24 08:10:34

Good morning from a dry South Downs.

Sorted out the little waterfall yesterday, but the new pump DH got is like Niagara and I just want a gentle trickle - so we will gift it to our son who is in need of a new one and has a huge pond and get a smaller pump for ourselves.

Today is the final tackle of the bees snd butterfly’s bed and tomorrow I will replant. I will also feed and mulch the roses Teasing Georgia, Woolerton Old Hall and Claire Austin.

April is the big growing month, and the wood floor is now entirely hidden except the paths - soon the cow parsley will be in its full glory alongside the bluebells. Then the tree canopy will spread and darkness - or lovely shade - depending on the weather will prevail. There is nothing like the shade of trees in hot weather.

My terrier Duncan, had a sort of seizure yesterday - he got excited by a cat who refused to move out if his path (he was on the lead) and he fell over in a fit - it didn’t last long, but he was subdued for the rest of the morning. He is fine now - snoring on his bed.

Shepherds pie for supper

Enjoy your day

Peace and harmony to the world.
