I had a very quiet day, my only even5 was the usual Saturday coffee and chat in church. It was unusually very quiet indeed, presumably most of the wrinklies were with family.

I’m glad your trip went well despite the wind, Mick; I expect you’ll want to book a few more in the months ahead.
No doubt a quiet day was welcome, grandMattie, after the reaction to travelling.

Our parish farewell cream tea was well attended and gave our priest the chance to say goodbye informally. Today sees him take his final service at our church. We shall miss him as he has been a great pastoral supporter of his flock, particularly in terms of visiting the sick. He is also a good preacher with a sense of humour guaranteed to enliven social events. Both he and his wife are regular supporters of our theatre, too.

Today I’m going out for a late lunch with one of my friends from the props team. She’s just back from a Greek island cruise so I shall enjoy hearing about that.

Good morning, apart from being very windy we had a sunny day yesterday, let’s hope today will be similar, the wind is still whistling around. If it stays dry I need to cut the grass.

It’s always sad to say goodbye to a beloved parish priest, isn’t it, Ash?
I hope your interregnum isn’t too long, and that your new priest fits the bill!
I have to say that, in my last parish, I wasn’t at all sad to see ours retire. I didn’t think he behaved at all well during lockdown and he was very snobbish, only mixing with the grandees in Sandwich.

Good morning from Malta where we have another warm, sunny day in store.

Yesterday DD3 messaged to ask if I would go with her to take the boys to the paediatrician as both had been off-colour and she returns to work on Monday after the Easter holidays.

Diagnosis for twin 1 was croup and a very sore throat, twin 2 getting over the same thing.

They turn two on Tuesday so a party is planned today. Hoping they will be feeling better by this afternoon.

Mass for me this morning followed by a taxi to the party venue (being held at their Godfather’s home) to save me battling Sunday traffic and finding parking.

I’ve been awake since stupid o’clock following a bizarre dream about my friend, John Lewis and Hugh Jackman!!
I’m going to make tea and bring it back to bed.
Will try to see the DGSs later, although it’s often easier on weekday evenings, as their weekends seem crammed with activities.

We had a frustrating day yesterday trying to get our Ring up and running properly again. It appears to have taken the hump when the Internet went down a couple of days ago. The Chime works but it won't connect to any Alexas.

Quiet day today with roast pork etc and, apparently, DH's team on TV.

Yesterday was dry but very windy so a long day with the children indoors.Lots of craft for DGD and H spent hours playing with the brio railway set.DD is feeling better so will come to collect them at some point today.I will clean the house then collapse😴

I hope the boys are feeling better today and enjoy their party Bellasnana.

Good morning everyone, it’s a damp hillside here in south Glos, no change then!
Yesterday I spent an hour digging out wild arum from the front border, I’m sure it will be back! I also cut down a climbing rose from the back wall of the house that has sadly died for no apparent reason 🤷🏼‍♀️ and I was very happy to see that three of my 12 dahlias I potted up have shoots! They’re in the greenhouse, that’s being dismantled next weekend by my neighbours who are moving it into their garden.
Then I can look for my summerhouse, so looking forward to having one.
I also need to get a garden shed for the bits and pieces as dh’s shed is stuffed to the roof with all his crap ‘it’ll come in useful’ items. I honestly think the shed only stays standing because it’s too full to fall down!
So, lovely things to look forward to including DD coming down at the end of the week for a couple of days 🌹

An afternoon reading the papers and chicken for dinner . Probably Delia’s recipe for chicken in a parcel with lemon, cream and mushrooms. Ice cream for pudding.

Good morning from s somerset, dry and windy today

A good sleep last night and I will be doing my usual winter sunday stuff, knitting, archers and so on. Nothing planned and no more deep cleaning is needed so the day is all mine and will mainly be indoors. My outdoor cucumbers have popped up, I only sowed them a few days ago. My new little propagator is working wonders.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where it’s dry and mild but very windy. Rain is forecast. Glad you enjoyed your trip, Mick. DH didn’t get here yesterday until late afternoon, but it was lovely to have him here. I had promised him a steak and kidney pudding for tea, and it was delicious, though really not the sort of thing I should be eating with my waistline!! He will do some jobs for me today before going off to join his cousin and friends for a late kick off football match, then he has a drive back to York.

This morning, I’m off out to meet my pal for a very last trip to the gym. It’s unusual for me for a Sunday, but seen as is closing from today we’re making the most of it whilst we can. DD2 and family are away on holiday so no sleepover tonight and it’ll be very quiet here over the coming week

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 8° and dry. Not much evidence of wind.
Mick it sounds like you had a good time. Ash enjoy your lunch. Susan I think a long rest is in order! Bellasnana enjoy the boys' party. I hope they get well soon.
Yesterday I had breakfast and a catch up with a friend. We did fall out over a contentious subject which she raised but had to agree to disagree. Neither of us would budge! Anyway we got past it and blethered for ages. I'm a big fan of this particular garden centre and could spend hours browsing. Unfortunately my friend has problems with her legs, so no browsing for me. I got all the washing done and a bit of tidying and hope to finish up today.
Today another friend is phoning for a chat. We normally meet up during holidays because she still works, however she's been in ill health recently and hasn't suggested it. Later I'll visit mum. She continues to deteriorate. A doctor phoned me on Thursday to tell me that mum has no thyroid function left because of her continued refusal to take medication. They're going to try and give it to her in a drink, but I don't hold out much hope of that succeeding. She's incredibly stubborn. I will have to go to Aldi at some point for food too. It's all go 😂. Probably gammon for dinner. Have a good day all.

Good morning from a sunny W Kent. A phone call to DB this morning and a short walk to get the paper before lunch otherwise a clear day.
Yesterday’s visit into town was marred by getting in a lift, the doors closed and then the lift announced it was out of service, nerve wracking couple of minutes until the doors opened. The ring valuation went well, a very varied mix of values, none of them very exciting, all off to DD’s none of them will go on my arthritic fingers anymore.

I managed to plant dahlias and begonias yesterday and do a bit of tidying up.
Church this morning then the ironing. After that I’ll see what the weather is doing and may feed the lawns and roses.

Morning all, it’s blue sky and breezy here in S E Essex.

I am seriously wondering why I bothered to get into bed last night, I was wide awake until gone 3am finally dozed off only to wake up at 7am, flaming steroids!!!

Not a lot happening here today, DH will cook a late breakfast/brunch around 10.30/11 ish. I shall endeavour to potter and catch up on the man many jobs which have been ignored since I became poorly. I will cook a late Sunday Lunch (7ish) of roast beef.

Good morning from a totally blue sky South Downs. Strange sort of weather though, with the wind.

Yesterday I worked myself to a standstill in the garden, and still have a bit more clearing to do, but once that is done today, I intend to begin to put that bed back to order. Once done that will be one side of the garden finished renovated for the summer.

DH is cutting back the winter clematis today on the bottom terrace as it has now finished flowering and we have some new outdoor eating furniture being delivered tomorrow and that is where it is going. He planted out his tomatoes in the greenhouse yesterday, as they are such big plants that they needed to go out. Cucumbers are heading that way as well, and will soon be planted out in the greenhouse bed.

It's not raining but the forecast isn't great.

Part of my sitting room ceiling fell in yesterday which was no real surprise. My lodger/friend cleaned up the worst and the dehumidifier is on continuously.

Quaker meeting here this morning but at least that's in a different room.
I must prepare for that.

I am feeling a bit better though still not right with a dreadful cough.

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny 🌞 day in Northampton, but very windy. Brilliant sunshine through the back windows, but dark grey clouds at the front.

Breakfast and a morning of pottering then out to live rugby at lunchtime; another knockout match in the European Cup, against Munster. Good luck Saints! We are on tv again, so watch out for me behind the goalposts!

Home for dinner which is pork chop and roast potatoes. Yesterday was my weigh-in day, and I have lost another pound; that's 3lb in 3 weeks! Another pound before my cruise would be great.

Think today will be an indoors day looking at what I should be doing in the garden. Had a short walk on a very windy sea front yesterday, discovered a cafe has new indoor seating and an excellent view so sat there for ages just watching people being blown along the beach.

Good morning from a very sunny Suffolk with beautiful blue skies. We are very lucky to have escaped the recent awful weather apart from high winds.

Almost overnight it seems,the dell is covered in bluebells as is the little front lawn. We have masses of these every year,preceded by snowdrops followed by primroses with the final flourish being nettles!

We had a lovely day out in Aldeburgh yesterday which,given the very warm weather,was extremely busy. The pub next to the fish and chip shop has opened up their courtyard with tables and benches to anyone who buys a drink from the bar to eat their fish and chips. There is also a pizza van for takeaway pizzas. Very enterprising especially for a traditional pub previously with no food.

GS1 was delighted with ‘ fragrance…..his word….DH gave him. It had been bought as a present for him some time ago and was unopened as ‘not his thing’. DGD 2 aged 12 was disappointed when she asked if I had any spare Miss Dior and I don’t!

Reminded us yet again how different are their childhoods from,ours and even that of their parents.
