Arthritic thumbs.

I've had sore thumbs for a while with arthritis but suddenly my right one has become extremely painful. I've tried Ibuprofen gel and have a velcro wrist strap and I know I can go to my doctor about it but before I go down that route I wondered if anyone else is suffering and what you do to alleviate it? I found some exercises online which do help a little. Also playing my piano relieves it, but not for long.

Oh I have same, it is terrible, I have a script for a topical anti-inflammation cream called Ketrofen, it has worked fairly well.
