Good morning from a bright & sunny Sefton. Hope that means I can spend some time in the garden. Plants need repotting and/or moving around. Getting a lot of colour in the garden now the weather is 'softer'.
A late start for me today. I feel so much better for a full night's sleep. Yesterday was a very busy indoor day catching up with washing & household chores - hence the long sleep no doubt.
Posh dinner tonight with speeches 🥱😴 However the food is usually excellent & I get to have a no cooking day.
Take care all.

Good morning from a grey Suffolk. I don’t know what happened but when I tried earlier to read and post, this thread wasn’t there and lots of threads in capital letters with titles which to me were unintelligible.

I’ve just tried again and normality seems to have returned but I haven’t yet read your posts.

I had a lovely day in Woodbridge with lunch with dear friend and a visit to the specially built huge workshop where there is a reconstruction to match exactly the Viking ship discovered at Sutton Hoo. They are using only the tools used to build the original so hammers, chisels etc and making rivets identical to those used in Viking times. Most of the oak is from East Anglia but some is coming from a plantation near Swindon planted in the early 1800s. A problem is getting trees which are big enough.

It’s a massive task all undertaken by volunteers which number dozens with only 3 paid employees,a project manager and 2 shipwrights from further up the coast. There is also a fanastic tapestry upstairs in the viewing platform of the story from the acorn to the discovery by Basil Brown of the ship.

Might be a good stopping off point Gingster when you are next up here. The new,y opened next door is well worth a visit and there is a restaurant where we had lunch and a couple of other cafes in the square….and on,y a few minutes walk from the huge station car park.

Good morning from a gloriously sunny Black Country...at last! There was frost on the car earlier though.

Hoping to get in garden and cut the lawn and weed, it has either been too wet or we have been away.

Going to make a Gingerbread loaf for tomorrows dessert, with Caramel sauce.

Happy Birthday BlueSapphire flowers

Good morning from a sunny, but cold, S Hants, welcome Babysitter.
Happy Birthday BlueSapphire 🎂🎉 I hope you have a lovely day.
Both grandchildren are still asleep, not sure what we’re doing today, MrJ is still struggling with this heavy cold. I’ve got school uniform to wash and get dry, that takes me back.
Enjoy Liverpool Susan and to all on days out, I hope the sun shines.

Wishing you many happy returns of the day BlueSapphire.
As you sail across the Mediterranean look out port side as at some stage after Fuengirola and just before Málaga city you’ll pass our little apartment block. I envy you today.

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is only 2°C.

GM, you are so talented!

A day in today for me, then Vigil Mass tonight.

I should have started my biologics this weekend, but the injections haven't been delivered.
Hopefully, this third new drug will give me some respite from the chronic, all over pain. It is relentless. My body couldn't tolerate the last two, they are so toxic. 😔
Sometimes I wish I could ust step out of my body! 😂
In saying that, I am trying to remain upbeat and enjoy the small things in life.

The PP hasn't sent me the latest bulletin yet, which means this morning will be spent sending out the electronic copies and updating the website. It will properly need edited, the pedant in me can't cope with the error. 😉

I had planned to catch up on some of my alteration tasks, but it won't be happening. Being vertically challenged means that clothes rarely fit me.😉

Susan, enjoy your day out, I hope it gives you a boost.
GMBatty, I hope yesterday was fruitful and you can now start looking for a suitable home for your mother. I have been in that position and can empathise.
Pants, I am eagerly waiting to see where you went on your trip yesterday.
Grammaretto, I hope the ceiling remains dry! 🤞

Welcome Babysitter.

Have a good day folks.

Happy birthday to you BlueSapphire

Grandmabatty Sat 20-Apr-24 08:15:07

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 0° and dry. A return to winter! Definitely nae cloots are being cast here Grammaretto. That is a lovely cushion GrandMattie. The colours just zing. Susan have a lovely time.
Yesterday's meeting wasn't as bad as I feared. We can now go ahead and look for a nursing home for mum. I say,'we' , but it'll be me making all the decisions as usual. My brother handed over mum's bank card without a murmur, so that's done. Good news was that dgs1 got into the school which is attached to his nursery. It wasn't a given thing and dd had to apply for a place. He's delighted as are we.
Today I'm going for breakfast with my usual Saturday breakfast chum. We shall put the world right for a couple of hours. Then it's home for housework and pottering. I hope I can get into the garden for a while. I have no idea what I'll have for dinner yet. Have a good day all.

Good morning everyone from Adventure as we approach the South West corner of Portugal and turn to enter the Mediterranean. It is fine and dry and a calm sea.

Another restful day yesterday, apart.from my mile round the deck. Did the quiz in the morning, and didn't do too bad, 16 out of 20. After lunch I spent a couple of hours sitting out on the sun deck with my kindle.

First formal last night, so posh frock on for the Captain's cocktail party and formal dinner. After that I went to the show in the theatre, three sopranos called Bella Popera, who sang a mixture of opera classics and pop songs - they were very good.

My birthday today so shall just see how the day pans out - looking forward to dinner in the speciality steak restaurant. I have a few cards to open and put up in my cabin.

May all of have an enjoyable day.

Gingster Sat 20-Apr-24 08:01:15

Good morning all and it’s sunny but still chilly, here in Essex.

Yesterday we met our Friday pals but we arrived in dribs and
Drabs. The chap who comes the furthest was first there but the rest of us had diversions because of road closures, fallen trees and re-surfacing of roads and repairing broken drains. It’s out in the country and only a few miles from home. 😤.

Today Dh will go to footie with ds1 and I will help Dd with taking little DGD to dance rehearsals. The show is in a couple of weeks, so things are hotting up.

Have the best day you can.🌸

Greyduster Sat 20-Apr-24 08:00:21

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where there is a clear, cold, blue sky and the sun is shining. Nothing much planned for today - I will clean my bedroom, do a food shop, and bake some chocolate brownies. If it warms up I might walk round the top of the valley.
Welcome Babysitter.
Have the best day you can, folks.

Urmstongran Sat 20-Apr-24 07:59:47

Aw Bonnybanko ^ Have a good day my friends you know who you are^ I’d like to think you regard us all on this lovely thread as ‘your friends’.

Good morning from South Lanarkshire. It’s dry but dull.

I do sometimes wonder about the dreadful dreams I have, how can my mind conjure up the horrors it does. What with dreams, awful leg cramps, and back pain, my night was disturbed and disturbing.

We had an enjoyable day with the children yesterday, the middle one was so excited to be joining her big sister at her weekly outdoor art class which has resumed after the winter. They gather bits and bobs in the woods and make collages as well as painting and drawing.

Nothing happening today though I really must have a housework day. Lots needing done.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning from a sunny South Downs. Forecast a nice day.

DD, SIL and one GS +partner are coming for dinner, so I shall prepare for that before continuing in the garden. The left hand side is still to do, but there will not be so much work as the right hand side - just really a question of cutting back/down weeding and feeding. It is the shady side -so different type of plants + stony Duncan peeping out.

I feed the fox family every evening, and now that the evenings are light there is always a seagull waiting - they really are the most beautiful birds - grey backs with white and black dotted tails and purest of white heads. They are huge! The fox won’t come near until the seagull has had sufficient. Foxes are feeding their cubs now so need more food. I might wait until it gets dark before I put the food out.

Have a good day all

Peace and harmony to the world.

Good morning all from a sunny Black country after overnight frost.
Lovely cushion GM.
Washing on will make the most of the sunshine and dry outside.
At DS for dinner later will be good to see the boys.
Usual full English calling so will catch up with everybody's happenings later.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans, safe travels those on the move and virtual hugs where needed. ☀️

Good morning from Rainworth in Nottinghamshire. Wall to wall sunshine at present. Just joined the Gransnet.
Today if all goes well, will be loading the car with hubbys scooter , putting dog ( 3 year old today, black lab)in her carrier and driving off to Clumber Park. I do my 6000 steps by running to catch up with my husband in his scooter and the dog gets her exercised by trying to catch squirrels she doesn’t stand a chance at catching. Then home for a cup of tea and asleep.

Morning Mick, morning All from a sunny if chilly corner of Somerset.

GP was very kind yesterday, there will be a raft of blood tests. I sat through Tai Chi after assuring the instructor my choice was physical not boredom, she’s a nice woman and worries about us all.

Mr C has been encouraged to clear a small part of a deep border this morning. He knows there will be a supervisor smile.

Get well wishes to all poorlies. Enjoy what you can today everyone.
