Good morning from s somerset, wall to wall sunshine expected today with light winds

I shall enjoy the sunshine first and foremost, probably out and about, cycling or walking. Indoor time will be like yesterday, practical pottering and reading

I am working on my first caftan which will be finished on sunday. I also have another skirt to revive, I did one yesterday, added a new bound hem and it has made all the difference. I love those two skirts, they are already three years old and well worn, they will be good for another three years now

I need to sow more parsley, it is over a month and there is no sign of life. I know they are slow germinators but the seeds were not brand new. I will buy some new seeds while I am out

Have a good day

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.
It is nice to be back in my own bed. I had a great week back and forth to London, but there’s no place like home!
Housework and laundry today. I’ll also sort out lunch for tomorrow. Old friends are coming over. OH first met T on their first day as young graduate engineers and I first met R when they both came to stay when we lived in Seychelles straight after we got married. I’ll probably do leg of lamb and Delia’s chocolate bread and butter pudding. I’ll take a cake out to defrost too.
OH will go and look at his bees this afternoon.
Have a good day everyone, especially those of you with difficulties. I’m staying in bed for another couple of hours.

Good morning everyone from the east coast of Fife where the sun is rising. It’s to be a lovely sunny day today again. My friend and old neighbour mowed my small lawn yesterday it’s starting to look good again, it was lovely to catch up with things. I’ve got a bet on the Scottish grand national today I won £140 at the grand National in England last week, fingers crossed for another win today.

Have a good day my friends you know who you are

Good morning from Oxfordshire, I’m too idle to look and see what the weather is up to.
If it’s dry we will take down the temporary fencing and replace it, if it’s wet I have ironing to do and I need to get out everything we need for our holiday.
MzOops might arrive at any time and fill her bedroom with her personal belongings and our holiday clothes are up there, if I do it now they will be out of her way. There is still half of the cabin to use but I’m sure that space will soon be used up.

I hope it’s sunny and that everyone has as good a day as they can.

Bellasnana Sat 20-Apr-24 06:29:28

Good morning from Malta where we are promised a sunny day with a high of 20°C.

Still windy but nothing like yesterday’s gales which blew down a rather large tree across the Main Street in our village. Fortunately, nobody was injured.

I’m still lazing in bed but must get up and do my cleaning and laundry. I might walk up to the village as well as I need some cash from the ATM.

Good luck Bonnybanko, I hope your horse comes through for you! 🍀

Wishing you all a good day.☀️

Good morning, 2° and sunny here in south Glos, fingers crossed for lots of sunshine today.
Yesterday I tidied the utility room, evicted all of dh’s stuff he dumped in there - it’s a very small area and I worry about tripping over things left on the floor. I enjoyed my dog walks, I do love being outside in the fresh air even when it’s raining.
I crocheted a few more rows of my blanket and generally did very little for the afternoon 😊
Today I want to move some pots of plants around and put my mini greenhouse somewhere where it won’t get blown over again. Most of my dahlias are growing, as are a few cosmos and monarda.
Stir fry for dinner, more crocheting later.
Have a lovely weekend 🌹

Good morning everyone from a chilly but bright Whiddon Down!

Yesterday we had a really good day out in Exeter which included an uplifting hour in the cathedral. It wasn’t very busy so we could appreciate the beauty and calmness of the place. Admission is charged now, as in many such buildings, but the £6 fee (senior rate!) allows multiple return visits within a year which is feasible for us since it’s not far from Torquay. Afterwards we enjoyed a meal at Eat On the Green before returning to the station via Lakeland.

Today we hope to drive over Dartmoor before packing up for home. The sunny weather would have encouraged staying here another night but I have accompanist duty at early service tomorrow.

I’m sure you’ll enjoy seeing Michael McIntrye, Susan56; he usually entertains with observational humour.
That sounds like unusually rough weather for Malta, Bellasnana!

Happy weekend! 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩

Good morning to you all.

Today we will take DGS2’s main present round as he will be 3 tomorrow. It’s a fire station which requires construction. He is obsessed with Fireman Sam. The family are going out for the day tomorrow.

So sorry GG13 about the problems with your home. It sounds horrendous. Enjoy your day at sea BlueSapphire. karmalady I made kimchi last year. I was very pleased with my effort. But the recipe insisted that everything - bowls, knives, spoons, jars were thoroughly sterilised and it seemed such a faff that I haven’t made it again. Kimchi from supermarkets just doesn’t have any bite to it.

Gardening this morning. Have a good day all.

Good morning from Bristol. The sky is cloudless and the sun is shining, NO wind! I hope it stays like that so I can sit out for a bit.
I am scandalously late this morning; I took a pill as I’m fed up waking between 3 and 4 every morning
My Spanish class went well though we were only 4 (of 6). Then one left for an appointment, one left because her son had had an accident at school. There was no one to take me home, so I walked again. It is not a bad 1.6 mile walk but there is a steep hill to climb.
I finished probably my last cushion for my window seat.
No coffee at church today so I wont see/speak to anyone. Oh well.
llfo, we lived in Seychelles for four years at the end of 1940s, my younger sister was born there.
I hope MD is in a better place, and to hear from our absent urms. May everyone have a quiet, peaceful weekend.
Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning all from a bright North Leicestershire. It is chilly but dry.

Today we are taking Persie birthday shopping. Apparently, she has downloaded a map of the local shopping centre and planned a route including refreshement and lunch stops. Wish us luck.

Good morning from North Yorkshire. The sun is shining and the wind has dropped.
Builder will be back today to add a final gloss coat to the door surround and put the plum slate around all the paths. He’s done a great job.
Coffee morning in the village hall then some gardening while it is dry.
Happy shopping Kitty
Have a good day everyone.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. It is so cold this morning I was expecting snow but it's a frost.
I am certainly not casting cloots just yet.

Df came for dinner last night and we mainly remembered our dear departed friends and relations.

Back to usual duties of baking and serving at the Saturday open house.
Gaelic café this afternoon and I'm expecting a visitor to my pottery.
I have an 80th birthday party tomorrow so will think what to take.

Lovely cushion gMattie
Glad you are feeling better Mick
Have a good weekend everyone.

I reported some weird posts in the night but they are still there!

GrannySomerset Sat 20-Apr-24 07:32:33

Painter coming at 8.00 to start on the kitchen so must finish moving the last thing which will be in his way. Was exhausted after yesterday’s efforts and didn’t quite finish the job. Still struggling with this bug and will spend the day keeping out of the way whilst coughing, so missing the ballet but would not like to share this with anyone. At least it’s sunny.

brook2704 Sat 20-Apr-24 07:33:36

Good morning everyone from Inverness, is a bit cloudy at the moment but we’re promised some sunshine later
Hope you have a lovely time today Susan56
I’m hoping to get the lawn mowed today - it’ll be the first cut of the season. Sometime today I also hope to see DD2 if she’s free …
Sounds like a plan Kitty!
Thinking of everyone who worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning from sunny Colchester. A dry but chilly day forecast. Ten degrees cooler than last Saturday.
A walk into the City centre for bits and bobs is today's job.
DH will be home tonight.
Love to all 🦩 x

Morning Mick, morning All from a sunny if chilly corner of Somerset.

GP was very kind yesterday, there will be a raft of blood tests. I sat through Tai Chi after assuring the instructor my choice was physical not boredom, she’s a nice woman and worries about us all.

Mr C has been encouraged to clear a small part of a deep border this morning. He knows there will be a supervisor smile.

Get well wishes to all poorlies. Enjoy what you can today everyone.

Good morning from Rainworth in Nottinghamshire. Wall to wall sunshine at present. Just joined the Gransnet.
Today if all goes well, will be loading the car with hubbys scooter , putting dog ( 3 year old today, black lab)in her carrier and driving off to Clumber Park. I do my 6000 steps by running to catch up with my husband in his scooter and the dog gets her exercised by trying to catch squirrels she doesn’t stand a chance at catching. Then home for a cup of tea and asleep.

monk08 Sat 20-Apr-24 07:47:29

Good morning all from a sunny Black country after overnight frost.
Lovely cushion GM.
Washing on will make the most of the sunshine and dry outside.
At DS for dinner later will be good to see the boys.
Usual full English calling so will catch up with everybody's happenings later.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans, safe travels those on the move and virtual hugs where needed. ☀️

Whitewavemark2 Sat 20-Apr-24 07:48:20

Good morning from a sunny South Downs. Forecast a nice day.

DD, SIL and one GS +partner are coming for dinner, so I shall prepare for that before continuing in the garden. The left hand side is still to do, but there will not be so much work as the right hand side - just really a question of cutting back/down weeding and feeding. It is the shady side -so different type of plants + stony Duncan peeping out.

I feed the fox family every evening, and now that the evenings are light there is always a seagull waiting - they really are the most beautiful birds - grey backs with white and black dotted tails and purest of white heads. They are huge! The fox won’t come near until the seagull has had sufficient. Foxes are feeding their cubs now so need more food. I might wait until it gets dark before I put the food out.

Have a good day all

Peace and harmony to the world.

Good morning from South Lanarkshire. It’s dry but dull.

I do sometimes wonder about the dreadful dreams I have, how can my mind conjure up the horrors it does. What with dreams, awful leg cramps, and back pain, my night was disturbed and disturbing.

We had an enjoyable day with the children yesterday, the middle one was so excited to be joining her big sister at her weekly outdoor art class which has resumed after the winter. They gather bits and bobs in the woods and make collages as well as painting and drawing.

Nothing happening today though I really must have a housework day. Lots needing done.

Have the best day possible everyone.
