Happy Birthday BlueSapphire. Treat yourself to a glass (or 2) of champagne. It’s not bad on the Saga ships. Unfortunately, I am not a fan of Prosecco as it’s too sweet for my taste. Wish they did Cava. 🥂

Good afternoon,
It’s a bright and breezy day here today. Still very chilly, too cold to stay long in the garden, though I did manage a few small jobs, before I got too cold. I wish the weather would start to warm up a bit, or at least that the wind would die down.
Happy birthday BlueSapphire 💐🎉🎂.
Welcome, Babysitter.
Don't know why that book post is on this.thread! Thought I was posting on the book forum! Sorry!
I am reading 'The Heart's Invisible Furies' by John Boyne, the fictional tale of a young illegitimate boy adopted into a wealthy family in southern Ireland just after the War. It was a book club read last year on our local radio station, and had really good reviews. I am enjoying it so far.
Thank you Taichinan. I try and keep busy with my crafts.
Also meant to say what a beautiful cushion grandmattie - you are such a talented lady.
Just popping back in, now that I have read all the posts. What a fascinating account of your visit to the Sutton Hoo re-build, Liberty. I never cease to wonder at the abilities and ingenuity of people that we tend to look down on from this technological age as 'primitive'.
Happy Birthday to Bluesapphire 🎂. Enjoy your day amid the Mediterranean sunshine.
Purplepixie so sorry your finding life so hard at the moment. It's so difficult, when you're feeling so low, to understand that this too shall pass and the sun really will shine in your life again. Stay strong 🦋
Happy birthday BlueSapphire
Good morning from a sunny but nippy East Midlands. A day working in the back garden. Just made an apple pie for later. Good health and happiness to everyone. Life is hard.
Happy Birthday Blue Sapphire and enjoy your cruise. I could could certainly do with
one at present.
Good Morning from a sunny Co Armagh
Wonderful how a bright morning helps cheer the soul
Washing machine thrashing away , I don’t usually wash on Saturday, it’s my Daughter’s day for the clothes line , but she is away
Basil and chive seeds have germinated , no sign of the parsley , it was nice to see the wee green shoots when I checked the greenhouse earlier
Taking my coffee outside now
Wishing everyone a happy day
Good morning from sunny West Sussex by the sea.
Happy birthday BlueSapphire
The Sutton Hoo build sounds interesting, Liberty. I will add it to my list of trips to do in the campervan 🙂
How lovely for your BiL to receive a long chatty letter from you, Hollysteers. I have a friend who writes letters to people living with cancer for the From Me to You charity www.frommetoyouletters.co.uk
We didn’t get to the allotment yesterday as DH had a sudden attack of vertigo. He is ok today but tired so we’ll maybe just have a look over to how things are doing after our time away in Scotland. We have lots of seedlings to nurture on windowsills and tables at home.
Enjoy the sunshine all who have it 🌟
Welcome Babysitter. 💐 for urms and MD. Happy Birthday, BlueSapphire.
🎂*Blue Sapphire*
Happy birthday BlueSapphire.Enjoy your day🎂🍾🥂
We’re going to Casa Italia hollysteers.Always go when we are back in Liverpool.I first went with my parents when it first opened.
I expect you already know the family run Villa Romana on Wood St Hollysteers. That's our favourite Italian. So many city centre restaurants nowadays are chains & often uninspiring. Love that Villa R still has a dessert trolley.
Good morning from sunny Severnside.
Wishing you a Happy Birthday BlueSapphire 🍹🎂🎉
I put out my new solar water feature earlier and it’s working already. The magic of sunshine 🌞
Happy birthday Blue Sapphire x
Oops! A little late today, so with 44 posts to read I thought I'd better post before I read.
So good morning from a grey skied, intermittently sunny Angus coast - where there is no wind or rain!!! Oh what a joy.
Yesterday was a lovely day (apart from the wind, that is) with lots of family communication one way or another. I love delving into their lives for little tasters. DGD3 had got her Baking Queen mojo back and facetimed me to show me she had made a lemon meringue roulade which looked lovely and obviously was as tasty as it looked because little bits of it were disappearing as we chatted 😉. Then came a phone call from DS2 who was stuck in traffic on his way home from work and needed a distraction. And in between times there were WhatsApps with DD, DS2 (in Frankfurt for the weekend) and messages from Dancing GD's friend who has just landed a new job. I may live 'out in the sticks' a bit, but modern day communication brings us all so close, doesn't it.
Today will be a catching-up on household tasks and a blether with Lovely Gardener and a conversation with the fish in the pond if the wind stays away
I hope you all have a pleasant day and all those aches and pains and bugs of all sorts stay under control. Take care x
Good morning Mick and all from sunny Lancashire, currently 7°C.
Yesterday was mostly sunny and I was able to get out for a walk
Today I’ll do a little laundry, usual physio and an afternoon walk. I also must sort out my meds for the next few weeks.
I’m getting a lot more done, with frequent rests, but I’m exhausted by dinner time.
MrB is still having occasional dizzy spells and getting out of breath at times. The scary collapsing episode has not been repeated. It’s a long wait for a cardiology appointment, as many of you will know.
Have a good day all whatever you’re doing 🌻
Bluesapphire have a lovely day
Good morning from Durham. It’s bright, sunny, cold, but dry!
After a weird week, I’m feeling more like myself and seeing DGS2 yesterday, when he was baking/decorating/eating biscuits was a treat. His Daddy had rushed off to help his own Mum who had fallen. She has an awful illness, no cure and it’s getting much worse - very sad. Of course, I returned with several loads of laundry, so I’ll plod through that today.
The builder’s estimate for the exterior work is eye watering, but after 30 years, it has to be done.
I do hope things ‘perk up’ for our GNs who are finding life difficult for whatever reasons.
Best wishes to all. X
Good morning all 👋
I couldn’t sleep last night, spent a fair few hours reading my kindle under the duvet trying not to disturb DH
Nothing planned, it’s chilly and grey here today n S E Essex.
Happy Birthday BlueSapphire 🎂🥂🎉
Urmstongran I am imagining strolling along the Paseo past the Chiringuito’s and looky looky men. I can virtually feel the sun warming my weary bones 🌞
Have a good day folks 🙋♀️
Good morning Mick and all from a bright at the moment northwest coast.
I have some gardening help arriving today. He was meant to come on Wednesday but failed to turn up. Nice chap but never know his timings…
Couldn’t get through to my 91 year old BIL yesterday so sat down and wrote that old fashioned thing, a long letter, six pages, which I enjoyed (hope he does!) I love writing letters and find far more to say than on the telelphone. I can organise my thoughts. Nothing as good as face to face of course and he doesn’t do FaceTime which is wonderful for my DD and Dsister in the south.
My cat keeps miaowing and I don’t know what she wants, she has food etc.
Will carry on sorting music today.
Birthday greetings BlueSapphire welcome Babysitter, beautiful cushion grandmattie and could you let me know the name of the Italian restaurant Susan?
Thoughts to all with worries 🌺
Many happy returns of the day BlueSapphire. What a lovely way to spend your special day.🥳
