Good Morning Everyone,
Its twilight outside but dry and no doubt cold here in brackley .
Today up a bit earlier than normal as i have a Glaucoma appointment at the Horton in Banbury ,and plan to catch a early bus so I get there with time to spare for form filling etc.
Will get back home after midday to early afternoon .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from a chilly but dry Torbay after a sunny weekend.

Good luck with your hospital appointment, Mick.

Yesterday, I was pleased we had a good attendance at our early service despite Mass not being an option due to it being led by a lay reader. Mass was celebrated at the later service led by a visiting cleric, now that our dear priest has retired.

Today I have a routine ECG and echocardiogram at the local hospital at 8.30 a.m. for which DH will be the chauffeur which will make a welcome change from catching buses to avoid parking on site. He has even offered to shop in Lidl while I’m being seen, which I know he enjoys because of the “toys”!!

Hope this is the start of a good week for you all. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 8° and dry. I hope both Mick and Ash your medical appointments go well.
Yesterday was a quiet day. After shopping for food, I pottered. My plan to go into the garden were foiled by persistent rain.
Today is early childcare day. I expect dgs2 and I will be in the garden after nursery drop off. Gammon later for dinner. I have leftover cabbage and cauliflower cheese to go with it. And Eve's pudding for after. It'll be an early bed after my early start. Have a good day all.

Good morning from Bristol all you early birds. It is cold and we are forecast a max of 9 by sunset! Will this cold weather ever end?
All the best for all your hospital appointments. Ash, are these tests follow ups from your surgery?
The guided tour of Bristol went well, the guide was extremely voluble but I could understand everything she said. Apparently, she specialises in street art. We certainly saw a lot of “Muriel’s”, including the very first Banksy, just opposite the cathedral, made in 2009. It was cold with a biting wind, I wished I had bought a woolly hat!
We then proceeded to a Cote restaurant for lunch. We had preordered our meals, yet it took nearly an hour to be served! And the restaurant wasn’t that busy…. Paying was another loooong wait. Not sure I would recommend it!
Not long after I came home, my upstairs neighbour asked me round for a cuppa.
Quiet evening and early bed as I was tired.
Today, no toddlers so might go to Tesco with same neighbour; sadly I don’t like her friend who bosses her about and, although extremely well off, uses her as a taxi! In the afternoon, there is the OAP film in the church hall. I rather enjoy them, even though, curiosly, no one talks to anyone else.
Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from dry South Lanarkshire where the birds are in fine voice.

DD and I had a really enjoyable afternoon chatting over tea, sandwiches, and delicious cake. I can’t remember the last time we had a couple of hours alone together.

Charity shop shift today and I’ll have to think about food for this evening, no clue what we will eat.

Hope the appointments go well Mick and Ash.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning from cold , soon to be wet and grey s somerset

It was glorious yesterday morning so I was out on my bike by 9. That was the best part of the day, the weather deteriorated. Worse today, colder again and a miserable wet day to come. Back into winter woolies

Not much variety today, I need to keep on top of bedroom dusting but I have lots to read with intermittent sewing. I opened up the top of my new but old machine yesterday. It all looks good so I can breathe a sigh of relief, I won`t need to oil up there for a long time as it is all newly greased up

Have a good day

Good morning Michael and all GNs. A rather grey dreary start to the day after yesterday’s lovely sunshine. I had a walk around the top of the valley and there were lots of bluebells out in the lanes. Had a long chat in the evening with DS. Not sure what is on the agenda today - a suck it and see day.
Have the best day you can folks.

RosesandLilac Mon 22-Apr-24 06:24:51

Good morning, it’s chilly here and rain is forecast by 9am so a day indoors I think apart from dog walking.
I finished the varnishing yesterday of my potting table and I did a bit of weeding but the wind was bitter here on the hillside.
DH is still messing around with the patio, he really needs to be finished by the end of today before the shed and summerhouse are delivered on Thursday 🙄
Perhaps I will do some art stuff after walking the dog, I haven’t done much for a while.
I fancy steak and chips for dinner, something I haven’t had for ages.
I hope that the hospital appointments go well Mick and Ashcombe 🌹

Good morning everyone from a calm sunny morning in the western Mediterranean; sitting in bed with my tea.

A lovely day in Gibraltar yesterday, a panoramic tour in the morning, then after lunch a visit to a gin distillery which was excellent. A very entertaining and informative talk by the owner, then 6 different gins to taste, after which we tottered back to our mini-bus....hic...

A sea day today, so I shall spend some of it reading, some walking, some eating......the food is excellent. Hope it's warm enough to sit in the sun on deck.

Bellasnana we shall be in Malta on Wednesday.

Have a good day everyone.

kittylester Mon 22-Apr-24 06:36:27

Have the best day possible, everyone.

Kitchen decorating successfully achieved yesterday, new boiler being fitted this morning so must be up and at ‘em. Still coughing so need to keep my germs to myself by cancelling my dental appointment. Hope this is a good week, though the cold wind doesn’t suggest spring yet.

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is 5°C.

DH is golfing, but I am going to the funeral of my former boss, so no empty.
It is in my own parish church and I expect it to be very busy.
Yesterday, despite having four weekend masses, at 10am Mass, the church was almost full to capacity, about 700 people. It is so heartening to see our parish flourishing.
There wasn't an available seat to be had at the weekly Sunday coffee morning, quite the social hub.

I got myself into a pickle yesterday. DD popped in and I was saying that it was going to be stressful planning and getting the church ready for First Communion, since we were on holiday, until the day before.
She looked at me as if I was mad. Do you not want to spend the day of your birthday in St. Andrew's and have a special meal? I looked at her, puzzled, because my birthday was the previous week.
Then DH surreptiously showed me our shared calendar on his phone. Not only had I put in the wrong dates for the holiday , butwe had also agreed to do the school run that week and look after Babydoll. I have much apologising to do to my DiLs.
Oh dear! I have definitely become a stupid old woman. ☹

Good luck with all the hospital appointment and have a good day folks.

Ladyleftfieldlover Mon 22-Apr-24 07:04:03

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.
We had a lovely day yesterday with our old friends. It was heartening that they ate and drank everything I put on the table! Just a tiny bit of chocolate pudding was left.
The usual Waitrose shop today. OH’s U3A croquet starts again today so he is looking forward to that.
I have a busy week with my book group, a long term conditions check at the Health Centre, meeting with friends and finally on Friday, my birthday lunch at my favourite restaurant. I haven’t got used to being 70 yet, and I’m going to be 71!
Have a good day.

Pittcity Mon 22-Apr-24 07:14:23

Good morning from sunny but cold Colchester. I could do with a drop in the chilly wind too.
Local opinion meeting in the Castle this morning. We're discussing street cleaning. No doubt the topic of bins will raise it's contentious head.
Supermarket this afternoon as the larder is bare.
Love to all 🦩 x

Bellasnana Mon 22-Apr-24 07:18:00

Good morning from Malta where the weather is fine with a high of 20°C forecast.

BlueSapphire how long will you be in Malta? It would be lovely to meet if you are free in the afternoon. I’m tied up with the boys in the morning.

Good luck with the hospital appointments Mick and Ash. Hope all goes well.

I’m with the boys. They had a lovely day in Gozo yesterday where they were able to ride ponies. Today will be a boring day with Nana!😄

Wishing you all a good day.☀️

Alygran Mon 22-Apr-24 07:21:27

Good morning from North Yorkshire. It’s raining.
On one hand I am pleased as I put a feed on the lawns yesterday, on the other I’m less pleased as it’s walking group in Richmond this morning.
After that I must do some cleaning now all the outside building work is done. Dust needs sorting!
Hope the medical appointments go well.
Have a good day everyone.

Bonnybanko Mon 22-Apr-24 07:27:21

Good morning Michael and all others, hope you get on alright with your eye specialist today.

It’s dry outside here on the east coast of Fife but thankfully the weathers warming up according to my garden plants,

I’ve a phone call coming in today from another care provider my present one is no longer going to be able to take me out in their cars therefore I’m forced to give them 4 weeks notice I must be able to access the local community for my health and well being and of course my social needs

Have a good day my friends

brook2704 Mon 22-Apr-24 07:28:49

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s a grey start to the day with a warm forecast of 14 later
Hoping all medical appointments go well today everyone
We’ve got DGS here, so the school run first thing and then back home to do some housework and gardening - well fence painting really
That’s easily done marydoll, I’m finding these days I’m double and checking dates on online calendars. I’m sure your Dil will understand and hope she can sort out other arrangements
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

GrannyGravy13 Mon 22-Apr-24 07:31:33

Morning all from a sunny but cold S E Essex, oh I wish the wind would stop here also.

Off to the gym first thing, then I have to go to the local retail park to pick up a parcel from M & S Food Hall, of course I shall browse… This afternoon I have an appoint, ent with the back lady, hopefully it’s the last session.

Your cruise sounds idyllic BlueSapphire , I hope all the medical appointments go well today.

luluaugust Mon 22-Apr-24 07:33:34

Good morning from a sunny but cold W Kent. Cleaner this morning, hope she can work round the packing and washing going on.
DD2 is 50 today, we are hoping to see her later this afternoon.
All the best to those with medical appointments.

NannyJan53 Mon 22-Apr-24 07:36:42

Good morning from a dull and cloudy Black Country, where it rained overnight.

Such a lovely sunny day yesterday. DD and DGD2 came over in the afternoon with Mum. We had a lovely lamb meal. DGD is getting prepared for her GCSE's!

Walking group this morning then Line Dancing this afternoon with my friend.

My Niece did a brilliant time in the Marathon yesterday. 3 hours and 59 minutes. She wanted to do sub 4 hours, so she was very pleased. Not bad considering the most she has run in training was 20 miles.

Wishing you all the best day possible.

Whitewavemark2 Mon 22-Apr-24 07:38:09

Good morning from a sunny but decidedly chilly South Downs . No rain forecast but dull weather and still that biting wind. I knew that as soon as I’d changed the duvet for the summer one it would get colder. Max. 10c today😮.

Still struggling with DHs back so will do some upstairs housework today and possibly in the garden if it isn’t too unpleasant.

Had hoped to go to Arundel to see the late tulips this week sometime but with DHs back and also my sister had been and said the winds and rain had spoiled a lot of the display, so will give it a miss this year.

Have a good day all.

Peace and harmony to the world.

Georgesgran Mon 22-Apr-24 07:50:10

Good morning from Durham. It looks set for a dull, grey day.
Hair cut yesterday - long story, but it meant I was out all day. Dropped my phone in the loo at bedtime! It seems ok, although it did open up in Japanese!! Just as well I’m due another.
I have coffee with a couple of friends this morning, then some admin and a long email to do.
Hope any health appointments go to plan.
Best wishes to all.X

Good morning from a very cold and cloudy Oxfordshire, we’ve had rain overnight so it’s wet too.

Dog is here, not very happy that all paths that lead to the back fence (and next doors dogs) have been blocked. But she still sat in the garden all day in the sun, keeping an eye open for the rabbits, she can still get to that part of the garden, so she isn’t too bored.
Lots going on today so I had better shift myself and get started.

Have a good day everyone, good luck with hospital appointments and all those who are travelling, have a good time.
