I saw this on the web and I totally agree with it.
Many is the time I do not meet up with friends to go shopping etc. because I do not know if there will be a toilet available. I am more or less committed to visiting shopping centres because I know for a fact there are toilets there. It is bad enough having to wait for a bus that never turns up so I have to go back home to use the toilet and then ring for a taxi to take me where I need to go. I have found that needing a toilet frequently has turned me into a hermit. I have tried the inco pads but have never found one that will see me through for a few hours, especially when there are no toilets available. I visited a small town yesterday, got a taxi there and went to use the toilet in the community centre but it was out of order and there were no other toilets available so I had to cut my visit short and get a taxi straight home. I am in my 80's and am finding I am more or less housebound because of the fear of not finding a toilet. I am a fit and healthy 81 year old apart from my problem.
I find I have to go in a cafe and buy something so I can use their toilet so I sometimes go and buy a toasted teacake with no cups of tea as I would be wanting the toilet again shortly afterwards and I cannot keep buying food just to use a toilet. I also do not drink anything from getting out of bed in the morning because I am going out and do not drink until I get home again.
