Good morning from Durham. A wet start, then supposed to get better (allegedly). Isn’t this weather just dire?
Little Dog is here, so a muddy walk with him, then coffee with a friend this afternoon. Might take dog back, or keep him for an extra night - DD2 is in Edinburgh, so less hassle for SinL who has DGS2 at home.
Best wishes to all. X

Good Morning Wednesday 24 April 2024
(46 Posts)Good Morning Everyone,
Its daylight with a grey sky here in brackley this morning , and no doubt that chilly cold North Easterly wind as well.
Today usual routine with bus to Bicester , I have been talking to someone over this last few weeks as we see each other most days just a friendly chat .
Then come home and watch cycling from a favourite part of Switzerland in Romandie.
Take Care,
Mick
Good morning from North Yorkshire. Another overcast chilly day here.
Off to the arboretum this morning. I’m trying to get back to my regular walking after all the rain. So much of the ground around the village is still very wet so local walks aren’t really possible without getting very muddy. Off to a local Indian restaurant with my ladies group this evening.
Lots of medical appointments today. Fingers crossed for you all.
Have a good day everyone
Good morning all from an overcast Black country.
Neighbours funeral today and then after I will pick up my new glasses.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.
Good morning from a cloudy S Hants, good luck for all medical appointments today.
I had a very pleasant lunch out with a friend yesterday, but the pub was chilly, good job I had a thick jumper on.
Library today, the book is on a two week loan, so must go back today, I’ll visit the farm shop while I’m out. Our en-suite is progressing slowly, I’ll be pleased when it’s done.
I think MrJ had a better night, or I slept through anything.
🦩
Good morning all .
Hope the journey to see your girls is problem free Sar . GG and I will miss you . We’ll make another date soon.
We had a new boiler fitted yesterday with a new temperature control , which I cant fathom this morning. I’m pressing all the buttons but nothings happening. Dh will have a look when he wakes up.
Malta is looking beautiful Bluesapphire. Enjoy your time there. It’s so exciting cruising into new places isn’t it, and those first sights coming into view.
Take care all 🌸
Good morning everyone from Severnside. Although cloudy it’s fairly bright out. The thermostat temperature is quite low this morning.
I at long last cleaned my car yesterday. Looks much better. I have to do the inside now. I’ve a few indoor jobs this morning and hope I can mow the lawn this afternoon before the rain once again.
Have a good day all 🌷
Good morning from a brightening Colchester, which will be chilly but mostly dry today.
I am missing Wednesday coffee as I have an appointment for a mammogram right in the middle of the morning.
DH took delivery of a new strimmer yesterday and then announced that he couldn't use it yet as it was No Mow May. I told him that it was still April but the daisies on the lawn are so pretty I'm secretly glad he's being lazy.
Love to all 🦩x
Good morning from a so far sunny Suffolk but I don’t think it is forecast to last.
My usual Wednesday keep fit class and then I’m meeting a friend for coffee which no doubt will extend into lunch.
We often meet at the coast but have decided, given these strong winds,a small town inland is much more conducive today. At the coast not only would our cobwebs be blown away but possibly us too.
Hope those on the move today have uneventful journeys.
Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny Carlisle.
Yesterday I was busy all morning despite feeling somewhat wambly. I paid for it in the afternoon as I then felt grim and spent the afternoon sitting about with a new book.
I'm somewhat improved this morning but will be taking it easy as I have a couple of errands in town after lunch and don't want to have to postpone them. I shall sit at the computer instead and do boring admin.
Have the best possible day everyone.
Good morning all from a sunny Glasgow, it was -1°C when I woke up.
GM, it's not pleasant when staff are unable to draw blood. I have now been advised to make an appointment with a specific person at the surgery, she is the only person who can do it successfully. My veins disapoear, when they try.
Yesterday flew by. I went out to buy some basics, when DS phoned to say he was popping in with Babydoll and would stay for lunch. What a delightful afternoon we had.
DH had to give up the fence painting, due to the sprayer jamming, so changed the seat on the swing to the baby one. Baby was squealing with delight.
Then just as I was making dinner, DD appeared. She had had a stressful day and DH ( with his HR Manager's hat on) advised her. She never stopped fir breath for about twenty minutes! My head was nipping.😆
I have a meeting today with the PP about the problems with First Communion. Two schools are making it at the same time and I'm trying to work out the logistics of fitting everyone in and also keeping the parents happy.
The old way of allowing unlimited numbers is not viable.
I wish you all a pleasant day.
Good morning from a dull but increasingly brightening Black Country.
Took Mum to a Dementia cafe yesterday. There were sandwiches and cakes. biscuits galore! Early afternoon Mum had no recollection of being there. So sad.
Today I am taking her to an audiology appointment, then Aunt and cousin coming over to meet up in a pub for lunch.
Hope the Birmingham meet up goes well.I am sorry to miss it.
Good morning Mick and all from a chilly grey Angus coast. It's getting just a tad boring, this.
Anyway a lovely tai chi session yesterday with discussions about moves. One of the ladies is off to Malta today, Bluesapphire, and will be staying in Valetta. Thanks for your lovely photo of the approach to the harbour. I wonder if you'll have time to meet Bella?
I haven't read any posts yet so can't comment. Just hopes that all is well with everybody and that the sun is shining where you are. 🦋☀️🦋
Morning B will you be meeting up with B she lives in that neck of the woods. Hope you like my photos of me having meet ups with my favourite gnetters x
Good morning everyone. Lovely sunny Spring morning, but still quite cool.
Bonnybanko, 🥰
Am ready for action earlier than usual as my lovely neighbour was taken into hospital with a raging infection last night, having had her covid jab earlier in the day. Her DH’s car is in for repair so I needed to be available to drive him but in fact her DD (complicated relationship there) will do it. Delightful ambulance crew who spent a long and careful time getting to the root of the problem, tricky when dealing with someone with dementia. My admiration for their patience and kindness is unlimited. Hoping that the right antibiotics will reduce her confusion and relieve the strain on her DH.
Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside 8°. Nice music club meeting yesterday and I sang Jerusalem etc, but a quiet affair against St.Patrick’s Day etc. Flying DD in New Jersey and we had a FaceTime with good views from her hotel bedroom.
Funeral this afternoon of a member of our art group and afterwards in the adjoining church hall where the classes are held.
Hope you all have the best day you can🌺
Good morning Mick and all from sunny Lancashire, currently 8°C.
I’m late to the thread today as MrB and I have been enjoying the sunshine in the garden. I have been eating a banana for breakfast and drinking tea. He has been tending his tomato plants and drinking tea.
Have a good day whatever you’re doing 🌻
Good (very late) morning from West Sussex. The sun is doing its best to break through the cloud.
DD1 had a day off yesterday so we drove over to the eastern edge of our county for lunch with her and GS. We don’t see much of DGS as he isn’t given to social chit chat but he joined us for lunch and was quite conversational about his visit to the university he hopes to go to in the autumn.
I have no plans for today except a bit of housework and gardening and will visit my neighbour and see how she is doing.
Hope the chill winds in the east will warm up soon but it was good to hear that Glasgow was enjoying some spring sunshine for a change!
Very late for me also, but it’s sunny with clouds so not a bad day so far.
I spent most of yesterday transferring old photos from very old and disintegrating albums into a box with individual boxes inside.
I passed the idea through MrOops a week or so ago and he thought it was a good idea, , when I’d filled the box, he said ‘ it’s easier with albums though isn’t it, you should have left them’ grrrrr. Anyway I need so many boxes that they will take up more space than the albums, so for now, it’s on hold. A waste of time….
Anyway, good to hear that everyone is getting out and about and having good holidays.
Love to everyone
