The club was very busy last night glad to get back home were we could hear one another speak.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a very wet South Yorkshire. Yesterday it bucked the forecast and stayed dry. I made fish pies, wrestled with a couple of log in problems for a couple of sites on my iPad and then went out to stretch my legs. I ended up in our reed bed, just a short walk from home, listening to reed warblers. You never see more than a glimpse of one; they stay well down in the reeds, but it’s such a joy to hear them every year and know they’re breeding, and in numbers this year it seems too.
Keep your photos coming, BlueSapphire; they’re a tonic in this dreary cold weather.
I’m going out to lunch at one of our local pubs with DD and the menfolk today, and I will make a pineapple upside down cake that we can eat before they go home.

Good morning from North Yorkshire. It’s pouring down!
I had a lovely day yesterday with a friend, walking chatting and a very nice lunch in Thirsk. I managed to get quite a lot of ground elder out of the corner border in the back garden afterwards.
Not sure what I will do today.
DGS (15) started a volunteering job coaching 7 year olds at his football club yesterday. The head coach said he was excellent and a natural. I’m so proud of him, he had some significant health challenges at the moment but doesn’t let it get him down.

Today is the last full day of our wettest, coldest short holiday ever. ☂️💨☔️. We have made the best of it and gone out each day dressed for a trek up Everest ⛰️. Yesterday we visited the local antiques shops, bought ourselves a delicious supper to take back to eat at our riverside cabin. Opened the Prosecco and watched a fabulous tennis match with Rafa Nadal, just like you Bellasnana, wasn’t it exciting? The only problem I have had is that I forgot to pack my waterproof trousers 😏

Good morning from a dull but dry Sefton. The sun is forecast to appear (very) late afternoon - better late than never I suppose although that will give us a glorious sunset. An enjoyable family day yesterday at the animal farm though it was very busy with children's parties - & chilly (what happened to Spring?) No plans for today apart from a quick food shop this morning.

Good morning from a very wet Suffolk. The drive is flooded in parts so there must have been lots of rain in the night.

We are going out for lunch to our favourite old coaching inn in the nearest small market town. The food is always interesting and delicious.

I’m off on Monday to one of my old school friends to stay overnight before meeting up with 2 others at the cruise terminal in Southampton. We are off on Tuesday on a mini cruise to Amsterdam.

We have known one another for 67 years since our grammar school days and meet up 2 or 3 times a year,often in London since we are scattered around the country. A cruise together is a first but we thought it would be ideal as,much to our DHs lack of understanding,our favourite occupations when together are talking for hours and eating punctuated with a glass of two of wine.

DH and I have cruised together for many years now on different ships but nothing as large as this one….over 3000 passengers. My preference is for a ship like the one BlueSapphire is presently on having a wonderful time. But what we value is our time together wherever that is.

We have a day and a half in Amsterdam where we’ve all been before but not for many years so that will be fun.

I usually detox from technology on holiday so will probably catch up with you all when I’m home next weekend. Until then,I hope the sun shines, the weather warms up and those with worries and upsets find comfort.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. I've been up to make tea to drink back in bed. I peered outside but it's cold and wet.

Yesterday's meal for the French choir went well but my help wasn't really required. I picked the flowers for the tables and made a cake but the kitchen is small at the Town Hall. Tonight the TH becomes a cinema.

I was in the garden for much of the day with a good friend whose DF has died and the siblings are trying to care for their DM who seems to have the start of dementia.

I remembered the Gaelic café too so that was a couple of hours of humour, song , cake and coffee.

No plans today, other than tea in bed first, then I’m sure I’ll find plenty to occupy me. I’ve a big bed of weeds and ground elder I want to dig out, so I might risk the weather and tackle a bit of it - little and often.

Morning all from a damp and soggy West Oxfordshire. The rain woke me at six but I’m still in bed dozing on and off.
I think today will be fairly quiet. Books and papers to read. Roast pork for dinner, which I don’t often do. Our friends last weekend gave us enough rhubarb to make three family sized crumbles or pies. I will make a crumble. Have a good day and let’s pray and hope for some dry weather!

Good morning all from a sunny Glasgow, where its 2°C. DH apparently has been scraping my car for the last three mornings , I didn't notice! He thought I was being ungrateful, when I failed to thank him. 😆

I was wide awake for half the night and now am struggling to function.
I'm off to Mass, followed by the very last First Communion Class. The Communion is on 11th May. Alleluia!!! I shall be dancing in the grounds.
It will be quite fraught, the P.P will be saying Mass, because our curate is away. Therefore, I will be on the front line, fielding questions about seating etc.
I now have a populated grid for seating, but can't reveal anything, until I run it by the schools tomorrow.
Our young sacristan gave me a hand last night, because the pews are different lengths and also I couldn't cope with all the criteria involved. 🤯

Yesterday was so busy, parts of the parish website weren't working, it was driving me crazy trying to resolve the issues. I was quite proud of myself! However, I would like a Saturday of just footering about, doing zilch!

For those of you spending time with grandchildren, have a great time. DS sent us a photo taken at the local food and beer festival, she was having a ball. Well she would, her life centres around food! 😉

Not actually raining at the moment but it has been and will do again. As others have observed, the wet feels endless. Church this morning the only fixed point but as I still don’t feel right - lacklustre about sums it up - another empty day feels about right. Am enjoying a more interesting life vicariously through the posts especially about cruises.

Good morning from a very wet N Norfolk. We have booked a Sunday lunch out so that will break up the day. I don’t think we have ever been here and had such a wet time at this time of year.

Good morning Mick and everyone from Carlisle. It is cloudy but bright, whether rain is due or not, I don't know.

Yesterday I was out early for my Corona jab. Unfortunately, it was Moderna not Pfizer, I had a reaction to the former once and so it is this time, a sore arm and a splitting headache this morning. I hope that's all.
Yesterday morning was brilliantly sunny and I got out in the garden, my peas were going in whatever the weather brings!
I was pleased to see the sparrows had returned for the season. For some reason, the masses of ladybirds have been ignoring my semi-climbing rose which has been smothered in greenfly. Not now, the sparrows have been very busy on it indeed.
The afternoon turned grey and showery so it was inside with a book.
Today, I'm taking it easy, I shall start with the weekend papers and see where it goes from there.

Worse still - our choir is, theoretically, singing outside at lunchtime.

GG did you spot DD2 and her 2 friends? She thoroughly enjoyed the concert which is a good job as she has tickets for their concert at the City Ground in Nottingham.

I was hoping to join a new walking group today, but doubt I will go now with all this rain.

Will make a Ginger loaf today I think and read. Need to think about joining a new gym, but I have lost my mojo on that now.

Off to Mass , our priest is soon celebrating his 40 th jubilee, we are having the same problem as you Marydoll with seating , our Chapel is tiny even though we have the biggest congregation of the three Churches in our Parish

Good morning from a grey and rainy NE.
Woken at 4.40 again by the Robin singing outside of my bedroom window.
Sister and I shared a bottle of Prosecco yesterday while we chatted, she borrowed a handbag from me as she didn't have one to match an outfit she is wearing today. They are off to a christening at our oldest church, founded in 674 AD.
DS and GD2 are coming at lunchtime and will take me for my covid vaccination, there is a pharmacy in a shopping centre that opens on a Sunday just for boosters.
I am expecting to suffer a bit tomorrow as I already have painful shoulders before the injection.

Rain running down the bedroom windows again! Norfolk is usually one of the driest counties and usually tops the sunshine records but something has gone wrong this year!

I don’t want to get up - clean bedding last night and it’s so cozy in here! 5 for lunch today so I will have to get a move on soon.

Nothing planned for today, other than physio and a walk. My hands are quite painful at the moment so can’t do anything like sewing for very long. Too much screen time is not good for my eyes so I will find myself a good audiobook for later. Goodness, I sound a bit self pitying there, but I'm perfectly content with life at the moment. MrB will be pottering about the garden and greenhouse, it’s good to see him looking more relaxed after being so worried.

Cloudy and off and on rain here in West Sussex.

Had an interesting day yesterday studying some of William Blake’s writings - fascinating man. He lived on the coast in West Sussex for 3 years.

No time to post more but thoughts with all who are living with challenges.

Good morning all. A bitty late today so, with 45 (!) Posts ahead of me I shall post first and read later. So sorry about the lack of reactions to yours.
Yesterday's tai chi on the beach was wonderful! The sun didn't shine, the sky was grey and the wind blew - BUT we got onto the beach from the esplanade with no problem and there was lots of flat wet sand on which to do our sets. We were all layered up against the elements - and I didn't see any of us (except the wild swimmers along the beach from us 😉) discarding any layers - but it was really invigorating doing the movements with the wind blowing through our hair, the sound of the sea in our ears and oyster catchers and seagulls adding their calls as background music. Oh, and there was a little dog who kept bringing us her ball to play with, just to add to the fun. There were 18 of us, so a good turnout - although on sunny, warmer days in the past we've mustered double that. But far more than I was expecting. We did two sets and then when I suggested either a third set or we go for coffee ......... There was a glorious log fire roaring in the Pavillion and their coffee was just the thing!
In the afternoon I drove over to Perth - in bright sunshine by this time - to meet DD for a couple of hours of coffee and chat. So lovely to see her. Today she is doing the Glasgow Kiltwalk for her charity - I think yesterday I said it was the Aberdeen one but I got that wrong. Me? I'm cheering her on from the warmth and comfort of my armchair 😉
So, back to the same old same old, but with a few more happy memories in the bank. Enjoy your day everyone 🦋☀️🦋
