Good morning, Michael and all GNs. The sun is out in South Yorkshire and the wind seems lighter too - yesterday it was blowing fit to bust all day. My young neighbour came round yesterday to tell me they are moving. The sale went through so quickly there wasn’t even a sign board up. They are buying a bigger property on the same estate. I shall miss them - we’ve got on like a house on fire from day one. Ah well, you can’t have life without change.
Volunteering for me this afternoon and then if it’s still dry when I come home I’ll cut the lawn.
Have the best day you can, folks.

Good morning from West Oxfordshire. It looks sunny outside!
OH had an adventure with his bees yesterday. He antagonised them when trying to check inside the hive and they stung him five times. They managed to sting him through his face cover and thick gloves!
I should have made a cake yesterday but will do so today and take it to my friends this evening.
As always there is WI admin, which at the moment is never ending.
My daughter has been in touch about arranging a short trip for us both to Helsinki in July. I think she will do the booking. We went to Vienna together a couple of years ago, which was great fun.
I had a nice chat with younger son last night. He had last week off work with flu. He’s a civil servant in Westminster. They are not allowed to talk about the forthcoming election in the office! We are all meeting up this weekend for granddaughter’s 8th birthday. Younger son visited Pompeii last year so I must ask him about it again as we have been watching a programme about the latest excavations. It looks amazing.
Have a good day everyone.

Re. PP, marydoll, I think you are right. The parish is using up too much of your scarce energy. I understand that you like to be busy but what you do seems too much to me. Is there any way of you reducing what you do?

Good morning from cold, wet South Lanarkshire. Yesterday’s early sunshine was short lived.

The weather didn’t deter shoppers though, it was a very busy shift in the charity shop.

I’m off to meet a Gransnet friend today. Looking forward to seeing her.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning all from a sunny Black country the wind has dropped so hopefully it will be a bit warmer.
Yesterday managed 2 lines of washing and even managed to iron it.
Today think I will give the windows inside a clean the sun shining on them is showing a few marks.
BlueSapphire your photos are bringing back many happy memories of our time in Greece and the islands.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️

Good morning from a sunny N Norfolk. Lovely sunny if windy day yesterday, we walked round Kings Lynn and found a really good tea shop. I enjoyed going round a fairly small M&S where you can actually find things. Today as it seems sunny again we shall go to Hunstanton and work our way round a bit of the coast.
Gg the dentist will soon pass
Marydoll you do so much someone needs telling!
Take care everyone, best wishes to all

Good morning all. It feels so cold here on the Angus coast this morning - I feel so envious of Whitewave and Gingster with their outdoors days yesterday. But never mind, we're forecast a sunny afternoon and 11° this afternoon - minus wind chill of course.
What a wonderful holiday you're having Bluesapphire. Your photo of the Acropolis reminded me that 'somewhere' there's a photo of my Dad taken there in about 1920 when he was a very handsome young Midshipman in the Merchant Navy. Thanks for the memory 🎶
DD finished the Kilt Walk in good time on Sunday - 23.9 miles according to her Strava. How she can face doing that again, in Edinburgh, Dundee and Aberdeen, I don't know! I did the Junior Kilt Walk (6 miles) with DGDs 1 and 3 many years ago and that was enough for me 😂
Today a nice relaxing tai chi class and shopping, followed by a relaxing sunny afternoon - that will do me just fine. Enjoy your day everyone 🦋☀️🦋

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Cloud but no rain.

I slept much better after advice from doctor Gransnet about my newly diagnosed hiatus hernia. Thanks.
Today I hope to meet a GNetter for coffee.

Gaelic this evening. How does a week pass so fast! must do my homework

I'm not surprised Marydoll that you are reconsidering your position at the church.

Lovely photos Blue
Well done so far Susan 👏
One day with my youngest pair tires me out.
Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning Mick and everyone from a bright and dry Carlisle. So far. I am feeling cynical!
I was busy inside yesterday and will be this morning, finishing off the week's necessary housework. Then, maybe, a walk after lunch. I need exercise. The garden needs attention too. The stiff winds have just about finished off my tulips which all need deadheading now. Nothing else requires urgent attention at the moment. My first rose blooms have appeared on Canary Bird, she's always an early one. The garden is transitioning from spring to summer flowers now. A bit sad because I love my spring flowers.

I hope you all have a good day.

God morning from North Yorkshire.
The sun isout and it’s breezy. Washing is on!
Yesterday I had a morning outside, washing the car, doing the last bits of patio and stone cleaning and cut the lawns. The spare slate was collected from the drive too so a productive time.
Today I must go to buy cake for Book Club here this afternoon. I can bake but don’t as getting all the ingredients for a one off is a waste.
Have a good day everyone.

Good morning from a sunny and not to windy Oxfordshire, yesterday was a lovely spoiled by strong cold winds, today seems positively balmy, although as the heating came on again I think it’s cold again.

MzOops has completed on her cottage and is now homeless as is LittleMissOops, a van will arrive this evening with more of their stuff to go into the cabin and garage.
MzOops will stay for a couple of days then take the van back to Cornwall and stay with friends for a bit.

We are supposed to be going to Spain on Friday but MrOops is waiting for test results, he isn’t feeling too good but thinks a holiday will help, if he doesn’t get the results before we go, I doubt whether our Travel Insurance company will agree that it’s a good idea. My Vertigo seems a bit better today.

Oh well I’m sure things will sort themselves out, but I could have done without the worry of a holiday amidst all of this.

Have a good day everyone. MD yes, have a good think, hope you have a good day.

Love hearing of everyone travels.

Marydoll, I use my phone camera for QR codes. Take a pic and the link appears. No need for a special reader.
I suppose this might not work on all phones though.

Good morning from a soggy Co Armagh, and it’s cold
I had both my sisters visit yesterday , we fall out regularly but doom make up , neither knew the other was coming, both are good actresses ! So all went well
I might try and fix a painting that the teacher thinks is finished , or will I make it worse ? It’s acrylic so if I’m quick I can remove the fixings 🤣
Hope we all have as best a day as possible!

Good morning Mick and all from a brightening windy 11°C northwest coast. I had a quiet day yesterday after my North Wales trip, a long FaceTime chat with DD and Dsister in the south and my cold seems to be moving off.

Music club this afternoon, not sure what to sing. I haven’t practised and I’m in charge on the desk. Tonight to bookgroup twenty miles away. Dson is turning up too as he’s back from playing with his band in Spain. He hasn’t read the book, but he’s very welcome. He lives on the other side of the city. Pity as it would be nice to have a lift and I won’t be able to drink…

Hope your toe is sorted out Ashcombe and the photos of Athens bring back happy memories of my trip there a long time ago with late DH🌺

Pitt, I tried that first. Unfortunately, it didn't work. 😤

A late Good Morning from a sunny S Hants, the cough and cold are slowly retreating meaning better sleep.
Yesterday was very busy on the voluntary phone, I’ve had to finish off the online updates this morning.

Enjoy your day all.

Late to the party this morning after getting DD to her train at what is to me an ungodly hour. DSiL will leave shortly to call on his brother and pick up DD later in the day. I have supermarket shop and tea with a friend in the diary so an interesting day all round. The wind is still bitter and the forecast still contains rain so May will not be balmy, at least to start with.

Primrose53 Wed 01-May-24 09:06:53

Wall to wall sunshine here in North Norfolk. We certainly deserve some better weather for May. 🌞🌞
