Good Morning Everyone,
Its daylight but cloudy with sins of overnight rain.
Today my usual trip to Bicester see some friends then return home and get a Fish & Chip takeaway.
And have a relaxing afternoon watching cycling on TV .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning Mick and all who follow, dry here too Mick

Up early to start moving around so that when we go to the airport my Vertigo should have calmed down enough to get me there.

Have a good day everyone.

Good morning from Bristol. Another grey, chilly day. We are promised heavy rain until early afternoon. The temperatures are not very high, but enough to not know what to wear, too hot, too cold garments…
Good tai chi class yesterday. I also vacuumed and washed floors in anticipation of the party tomorrow.
Spanish class this morning. I also have a telephone consultation with the ophthalmologist during that time. He due to sign me off from the uveitis I have had.
Baking this afternoon, and probably making the pumpkin soup that DD1 likes so much.
Hope that the long weekend brings happiness. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from an overcast but dry Torbay.

Another early start with an appointment for physio on my arthritic knee at 8.30 a.m. I’ve already had an online assessment and some exercises to do at home.

Safe travels, *Oopsadaisy1 and I hope your vertigo isn’t too troublesome.

Have a good weekend, everyone! 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Good morning from s somerset, grey skies all day, again

I made a big lasagne yesterday, purely vegetarian and no cheese, so now I have some ready meals in the freezer. I am glad of these ready meals for `busy` days. No walk yesterday but I will change that today

Slug nematodes may arrive so I will water those in and thankfully the soil is damp already. Generally, more pottering for me, like yesterday

Have a good day

Good morning from dry and bright South Lanarkshire.
Yesterday’s weather was a day of beautiful sunshine but with a very cool breeze. In the late afternoon I sat inside crocheting by the open French windows enjoying the warmth of the sun in our sheltered garden.

Childminding day today. I’ve made chilli to leave for their evening meal with enough left for us tonight as well as some for the freezer.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Good morning from North Wales.Dull at the moment.

A disturbed night.DGD was awake four times with asthma.DH slept through it all.She seems settled now🤞🏻

We are going home for the day today mainly to check the garden and greenhouse.H is coming with us and maybe DGD depending on how she feels when she wakes up.

Morning all, I imagine it will rain sometime today, probably just as I am picking up GC from pre-school/school.

No gym for me today, I am going to the big Sainsbury’s (near you Gingster ) on my own for a mooch round the Habitat home wear section. I need new bedding, throws and cushions for guest bedrooms once the builders leave (they have to restart first, which will not be until they have finished more surveys) but I need to be pro-active or I will be climbing the walls 🤣

Safe journey Oops I hope the physio goes well Ashcombe

Have a good day everyone 🙋‍♀️

Good morning everyone from Adventure on another sunny 🌞 sea-day as we head towards Malaga; just left Sicily so not due there until Sunday.

We had beautiful hot weather in Syracuse yesterday. In the morning I did a panoramic coach tour which was most disappointing and certainly not worth the money. We seemed to go round the scruffiest, most run-down, least picturesque parts of the city, when we could have seen the most beautiful buildings just over the bridge.
I did manage to get some good pictures of the lovely coastline.

Got back at lunchtime then sat at the outdoor restaurant on the back deck and had fish and chips. I seem to have picked up a cold, so retired to my cabin for the afternoon and dosed myself up with a hot Lemsip, honey and whisky!
Didn't feel like getting ready for dinner, so had room service.

No plans as yet for today; I may go to a lecture this morning from a previous Saga captain, which looks promising. Hoping to feel well enough to sit on deck later with my new book.
Tonight is the crew show, which is always well worth going to.

Have a good Friday everyone.

Good morning from Cornwall where it's my birthday yippee and the sky is blue! Breakfast with my three best pals at Wetherspoons at 9.15, a car trip with my younger son to see the landscape-sculpting changes made to our main trunk road up-county plus coffee at Starbucks this afternoon and an evening in my flat with my eldest son later, putting the world to rights. 😁

Worked on the topiary on my patio yesterday; my ivy swags are looking fresh with new growth and my box lollipop trees are shaping up nicely. I have several self-seeded foxgloves in a pot and am waiting to see what colour they are. Off out to my swing seat with a celebratory coffee now.

Good morning everyone from a saturated hillside in south Glos, and it’s still raining.
The summerhouse is being erected today, not much fun in the rain but I am so looking forward to seeing it up. Then I can sort out various bits of planting, pots etc and hopefully we’ll have some good weather to sit outside and enjoy it!
DD is here with her dog so I hope that she and DH will be out with the dogs early so they settle down while the work goes on.
Yesterday was lots of tidying up and baking, and I have slow cooked a chicken that we will have for lunch today.
I hope today goes well for you all 🌹

RosesandLilac Fri 03-May-24 06:23:02

Happy birthday Mizuna 🎂🥂💐

And a few more!

Good morning. There wasn’t a glimmer of sun yesterday. I had an eye test at my own request and am being referred to an eye hospital. I was told to expect a lengthy wait.

A couple of posters on this thread mentioned Dan Air yesterday. In April 1986 we flew home from Crete with them. There had been a massive downpour just before we boarded. The rear door had been left open and I had to spend the entire flight home with my feet in 2 inches of water. Happy days.

I felt quite sad on your behalf LLFL that your sons have fallen out. There is nothing more unsettling when things aren’t right with one’s children. They say you are only as happy as your unhappiest child. I hope it gets sorted out.

Have a Good Friday all.

Pantglas2 Fri 03-May-24 06:27:24

Buen dia 👋 from a dry and lightening Andalusia where t’internet has been down for days…🤬 my homework today will consist of reading all your doings and toasting your birthdays and celebrations 🥂!

A quiz with friends beckons later with dinner later and a wake for another dear friend tomorrow at the same bar ( we missed the funeral a fortnight ago) - we seem to have been to so many in the last five years!

💐 for all with challenges at the moment x

Ashcombe Fri 03-May-24 06:36:28

Happy birthday, Mizuna! 💐🎂🎈

Greyduster Fri 03-May-24 06:41:15

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a grey South Yorkshire where rain is exepcted later. Yesterday was sunny and warm. I had a good ramble round with the walking group and then DD made me a very healthy lunch 😏! I called in at the garden centre on the way home to buy a birthday card - they have a lovely selection - and also came away with snap dragons which I will plant out this weekend. School volunteering this afternoon.
Happy Birthday, Mizuna🎂💐!
Have the best day you can, folks.

brook2704 Fri 03-May-24 06:46:00

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s light grey cloud and a warm dry day is forecast
A very Happy Birthday mizuna sounds like you’ve got a lovely day planned 🎂🥂🎉
Gorgeous pictures BlueSapphire hope you’re feeling better soon
We’ve got DGD here so it’s the school run first thing and then back home for another enjoyable day pottering in the garden
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Ladyleftfieldlover Fri 03-May-24 06:48:07

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.
I am still absolutely devastated over the massive falling out my two sons have had. I can’t see a way forward.
In the meantime I have a busy day ahead - collecting a necklace from the jewellers and dropping off a pair of earrings which my sister sent me. They need repairing. I have a birthday present to post to my great nephew in Melbourne. Milo and Ripley are running out of their favourite catnip treats. In the afternoon I’ll type up the notes from Wednesday’s WI committee meeting and make a start on the monthly email which I send the members - basically a reminder of the next meeting, competition etc.

Have a good day.

Georgesgran Fri 03-May-24 06:59:29

Good morning from Durham. A grey start and rain expected soon. The gardeners did a cracking job yesterday.
I’m toddler wrangling at DD2’s from lunchtime, so a long afternoon lies ahead, after a short morning at home.
Happy Birthday Mizuna
Best wishes to all. X

kittylester Fri 03-May-24 07:03:08

Good morning all from a cloudy North Leicestershire.

A day with little planned, for a change, ahead.

DH has a rotten cold and has to decide whether to go the Cheltenham for the jazz festival or waste the tickets and hotel booking.

Have the best day possible everyone.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 03-May-24 07:04:36

Wishing you a happy birthday Mizuna 🎂🥂🎉

Pittcity Fri 03-May-24 07:06:09

Good morning from a grey Colchester. A rainy day with highs of 12°. Coat back on after a couple of warm days.

I've been browsing the election results and our Council is still hung. I am disappointed at the 30% turnout. Someone told me they didn't vote because nothing ever changes....duh?

Aldi is my fun excursion today and spending some time hiding scam posts on GN.

Happy Birthday Mizuna 🎂 and love to all 🦩 x

aggie Fri 03-May-24 07:13:01

The sun is very welcome this morning
I have art class then home for lunch an omelette probably
