Good Morning Everyone,
Its daylight but cloudy with sins of overnight rain.
Today my usual trip to Bicester see some friends then return home and get a Fish & Chip takeaway.
And have a relaxing afternoon watching cycling on TV .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning all from a sunny a Glasgow, where it is 8°C and forecast to be 18°C.

Happy birthday, Mizuna have a lovely day. It was DIL's birthday yesterday and is DD's fortieth tomorrow.

Susan, you must be exhausted! Take care.

Llfl, I must have missed the post about your sons. My DS1 fell out with us all during the pandemic in the most awful way. He wouldn't speak to either us, nor his siblings. It broke my heart. It hurts us so badly to see our children behaving in this way.
However, please don't despair, our son eventually came round and I'm sure things will resolve themselves. It just takes enormous patience.💐

We had the loveliest of sunny days yesterday, with the most delicious lunch. I decided to go out of my comfort zone and had sea bass in a creamy sauce with baby peas. I love sea bass, but I am not overly keen on mash and peas are my least favourite vegetable. For the first time in a long time, I cleared my plate, it was outstanding. The icing on the cake was a delicious white chocolate cheesecake. It was exquisite.

Today Dollie's mum has decided to come and vet my First Communion outfit. I cannot choose between three dresses and she would like to help. Her parents are causing her great anxiety again and I'm really concerned about her. I try to support her as much as I can, while reminding her, her parents do love her, ( not revealing what I really think of the) they just don't know how to show her and are experts at making her feel guilty.
I suspect she is looking for an excuse to unload her worries.

I wish you all the best of days. GM, I too have the dilemma of not knowing what to wear at this transitional time of the year, so I'm off to have a rummage in my extensive wardrobe.
How on earth did I manage to accumulate so many dresses?
I also have been requested to make Mars Bar cake for the family lunch tomorrow. My two DILs, both talented cake makers, have been battling it out, who is making the cake!
Oh dear!

I forgot to wish Oops, a safe vertigo free journey. 💐

Good morning from Malta where it’s sunny and 23°C.

I’m with the boys as usual but littlest one started his day with very strong feelings about his mum going to work. She was on the point of calling in sick as he was in such a state. I encouraged her to just go and sure enough he was fine two minutes after she left. I’ve sent photos so she can see he’s happy as I know it breaks her heart to leave him so upset.

Happy birthday Mizuna hope it’s a good one.🥳

What a pity your excursion was such a disappointment Blue Sapphire. I know Syracuse well as it’s just a short hop from here and DH and I had some lovely visits there. I hope your cold won’t make you feel too unwell.

Was disappointed with the tennis last night as another player had to retire with injury. They seem to be dropping like flies in Madrid this week.😞

Hoping you all have a good day. Another week over, where does the time go?

Grandmachrisy47 Fri 03-May-24 07:22:36

Just waiting for dgd and granddogs to arrive it’s dry and fairly bright here but rain forecasted for later.
Collect new iPad late afternoon yesterday but didn’t open the box, I had a Pilates class, which was hard work. So today will be spent setting it up. My old one is an iPad mini but the new one is larger ( so I can see things better). I’ll keep the old one for travelling as it fits in a handbag.
BlueSapphire I so enjoy your cruise news and photos, I’ve never traveled outside the UK.
Happy Birthday, Mizuna.
Lovely day here yesterday, I got our bedding changed, washed and dried for a change.
Hope all goes well for you all today.

Good morning from a dull and grey Black Country where it rained overnight.

We were lucky with our walk yesterday, as the sun shone and it was quite warm. 4 miles walked, with a coffee and chat in the cafe afterwards.

Today, finish packing and going to the Library to have print outs of our Boarding Passes. They are on my phone, but I like to have a back up. We will be arriving in Malaga Sunday lunchtime BlueSapphire

Happy Birthday Mizuna have a lovely day

Grammaretto Fri 03-May-24 07:33:08

Grandmabatty Fri 03-May-24 07:33:30

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 9° and still sunny. We've had a lovely spell of sunshine this week. There has been a stiff breeze though. Susan you must be exhausted. Bellasnana my son used to get in an awful state when I left for work. Good advice from you. Mizuna a very happy birthday to you.
Yesterday I visited my friend's partner for a couple of hours. I hadn't seen him for ages and felt bad about it. We had a good chat. I did a bit more weeding of the drive too.
Today I'm not planning on doing much. A bit of gardening is needed to get rid of brambles that are creeping in from next door. My back still twinges so I'm not pushing it. A walk to Aldi for bread is necessary or I could make a loaf. I haven't decided. Have a good day all.

grandMattie Fri 03-May-24 07:35:23

Good morning from North Yourkshire. It feels a bit chilly.
Happy birthday Mizuna.
It’s the first charity meet up of the term over in Thirsk. We have someone coming to talk about explaining Autism to the family. Should be interesting.
We didn’t get any planning done last evening for our Spanish trip but had a good chat and the supper went down well.
Have a good day everyone.

Jaxjacky Fri 03-May-24 07:41:31

Forgot. bluesapphire, my father had happy memories of Syracuse. He had an operation for a burst appendix in 1943/4 when he was in the army. He also saw Aida there in the amphitheatre. Talked about it a lot.

Whitewavemark2 Fri 03-May-24 07:45:31

Good morning from a dull South Downs, although forecast sunny.

Many haps mizuma - have a good one.

llfl what a ghastly problem. But I think you know that you can only sit back and hope that they eventually sort themselves out - but it is very early days yet. They will both be feeling really furious with their sibling and no doubt be on their high horses convinced that they are firmly in the right. But this too will pass and over the coming months things will gradually calm, but it will take time.

I have a friend who fell out furiously with her sister, it took about a year and it finally ended with my friend taking a potted olive tree (means peace) and give to her sister. That worked🙂.

I planted some dahlias out yesterday 🤞 it will be frost free - but they are very protected. The vegetables are looking good, some cauliflowers will soon be ready and lots of stuff growing to look forward to. My continued mice transportation is working - I am letting them all go in the same place alongside with some seed.

Today we might try out DHs back and go for a gentle walk - we will see how things go - although he is busy making a frame for a card we received from the vet and a photo of Duncan - in the shed.

Well - have a good day all.

Peace and harmony

monk08 Fri 03-May-24 08:07:19

Good morning all from a wet Black country.
Need to go into town for something I can't get local will see if weather improves.
Meeting friends later.
Happy birthday Mizuna you sound like you have a lovely day planned. 🎉🎂💐
Safe travels Oops hope the vertigo settles.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

Grandmabatty Fri 03-May-24 08:19:40

Whitewave your rehabilitation of mice reminded me of when I was first married. Our house backed onto wheat fields and at harvest time we would get the odd wee harvest mouse, which had lost its way, inside. I would put it in a tupperware dish with some cheese and biscuits and we would drive it to the next village and let it out there!

Gingster Fri 03-May-24 08:24:36

Good morning all and it damp and overcast here in Suffolk.
On the whole we’ve had a lovely sunny week . No thunderstorms and hardly any rain.

Today we travel back to Essex- we would have stayed longer but little DGD has her dancing show tomorrow and eldest DGD is back for a few days. I’m looking forward to hearing how her first job is going. Newly qualified Mental Health Nurse in a psychiatric hospital. 😳. I do worry how she will cope.

Happy birthday Mizuna your day sounds ‘just right’. 💐.
Llf families eh! We all have times like these, no matter how wonderful some people tell you theirs are ‘perfect’. Time and patience will prevail. 🙏.
Oops have a lovely holiday. ✈️.
I hope your cold disappears quickly Bluesapphire so that you can continue to enjoy your lovely cruise 🤞.

Take care all and have the best day you can 🌸

GrannySomerset Fri 03-May-24 08:41:34

Torture session with the dental hygienist this morning so will probably miss oldies’ coffee morning and am hoping not to get soaked when I walk up to the village - not actually raining at present but a damp forecast yet again. Lots of worries in this morning’s posts and my thoughts with all those with family anxieties. So hard doing nothing but it’s often the only option.

Taichinan Fri 03-May-24 08:44:40

Good morning all from a sunny Angus coast and 11°.
Tai chi was excellent yesterday - we 'tweaked' one move in detail, and then looked at another quickly. But really they are all so good that it feels like nit-picking!
It was lovely to be able to spend time sitting down beside the pond 'communing with the fish' - the first time for a long time that this pesky non-stop wind has permitted that!
Happy Birthday Mizuna, have a lovely day.
Thank you again for your photos Bluesapphire - we shall miss them when you're home again!
Safe travels Oops.
Just a quiet day here again. DD and New Man are in Malta - NM's present to her for her 50th in January. By the sound of it, the trip is at the high end of luxury - a well-earned rest for them both.
Enjoy your day everyone ☀️🦋☀️

EkwaNimitee Fri 03-May-24 08:48:44

Good Morning Mick and everyone from bright Carlisle.
Another poor night's sleep for me. I have an infection of some sort which is also affecting my ears so have to be careful how I move. I suppose nothing can be done about it. I shall just carry on as normal in a gentle way!
I won't be out gardening but it's amusing to sit by the french windows and watch the birds being busy...the sparrows are laying into the aphis and the blackbird and starlings are finding plenty of material for nest building. I noted that it's Mrs Blackbird who seems to be doing the building work, not he.

I'm going to have a sort through my drawers and wardrobes, it will soon be time to cast clouts.

Happy Birthday to you Mizuna and happy journeys to those on them.

And the best possible day to all.

hollysteers Fri 03-May-24 08:53:36

Good morning Mick and all from a warmer Cloudy Chambers northwest coast.
Strolled into the kitchen at 1 o’clock yesterday and glanced at the calendar. Saw an appointment at the hospital 20 miles away for 2 o’clock I had forgotten. Climbed into the car and all was fine. Only luck I looked at it. Had mammogram and ultrasound all clear and relieved after my history. I’m getting mixed up with all my appointments…

Tiny mouse in the kitchen last night and the cat took no notice of it. Even when held up near it.
Off to art soon. Birthday greetings Mizuna and happy travels to our travellers🌺

Beechnut Fri 03-May-24 09:08:50

Good morning (it isn’t) everyone from Severside. Rain again.

Wishing you a Happy Birthday Mizuna 🎉🎂

Not sure what to do today. I may go and plant my tomatoes in the greenhouse and I have to take up my new pair of trousers. I’ve a few birthdays this month so I have cards to make.

Have a good day all and safe travels 🌺

harrigran Fri 03-May-24 09:17:22

Good morning from a dry NE.
Vaccination was done yesterday by a pharmacist and I didn't feel a thing. Shoulder started to get sore during the night and my other shoulder was already painful so I got up and took painkillers. Not sure I am going to be able to do anything today, maybe just finish my book.
Happy Birthday Mizuna 🎂

Urmstongran Fri 03-May-24 09:42:13

^I am minded to switch off the heating.
probably regret it^

Your dry sense of humour often makes me chuckle Grammaretto!

Many happy returns of the day to you Mirzuna. I still think of you as mellow yellow at times. 😁

Blossoming Fri 03-May-24 09:54:20

Good morning Mick and all from cloudy Lancashire, currently 12°C.

Yesterday turned sunny after a cloudy start. I enjoyed a walk over the bridge to the marina after casting my vote, the polling station is in the bridge control building. MrB went for a motorcycle ride and came home with my favourite chocolate from Kennedy’s in Orton. He’s very naughty but I do love it ❤️. Today will be much the same without the voting and I think we will get some rain later today. The chocolate will last me months.

I really must make an appointment for my routine blood tests, I’ve been putting it off.

Your meal sounds lovely Marydoll, hope all goes well today.

Grammaretto our heating has been on and off over the past few weeks. It’s been so cold but fingers crossed the current warmer weather will last. Now it’s just on for an hour morning and evening.

Safe travels Oops.

Happy birthday Mizuna.

Wishing you all a good day 🌻
