Prince Harry will not meet the King during UK visit.

Seems a bit harsh? All that way too. He landed in the UK a few hours ago. Without Meghan and the children.

From the Telegraph just now:

“ The Duke of Sussex will not meet the King this week, the Telegraph can reveal.

Prince Harry, 39, landed in London on Tuesday morning and had made no secret of his hopes to see his father during his visit.

But a spokesperson for the Duke said: “In response to the many inquiries and continued speculation on whether or not The Duke will meet with his father while in the UK this week, it unfortunately will not be possible due to His Majesty’s full programme.

“The Duke of course is understanding of his father’s diary of commitments and various other priorities and hopes to see him soon.”

I just think if the King doesn't ’find time’ to see his son then Harry might well just think ‘sod it’ next time/if he comes over.

I know Harry bad mouthed the family in his book ‘Spare’ but still …

What do you think?

I wrote a long post about my estrangement from my sister a few pages back. Estrangement is difficult, incredibly painful, and usually happens as a result of much provocation. Well it did for me anyway. Therefore I think we have to leave Charles and William to make their own decisions about how to proceed. I can assure posters that whatever the decision made, it is painful. But sometimes estrangement is less painful than trying to keep a very difficult relationship alive. Sometimes it’s just better to let it go and have some peace, but Charles and William have to make that decision for themselves.

I would like to add that estrangement doesn’t mean that you cease to love and care about the person, it just means you’ve chosen to protect yourself from further pain.

Anniebach Mon 13-May-24 04:57:36

Maddy I believe people have to experience estrangement to understand the pain it brings.

Syracute , you need to be more inventive in your attacks on posters on this thread.

Most, I would say, feel contempt for H & M, for their endless complaints, their freeloading and their inability to support themselves without recourse to their royal connections they affect to despise.

What you read (so avidly) on here is not bone-picking hatred but rather, well-informed mockery which owes little to readership of the Daily Mail, as reiterated in your unoriginal and rather dated attack against those whose views you don't share.

Glorianny

Funny no one wants to say they wouldn't like their husband parading in an ex's jewellery.
According to his valet Charles rang Camilla most days during the honeymoon.

My ex designed and had made a diamond ring for me, I wore it every single day (including wedding to my DH and honeymoon). It is a stunning design and I always get compliments on it.

I took all of my rings off during lockdown, and seldom wear any most days (including wedding ring) now unless I am going out to lunch or dinner.

Nooo GG13! You’re not supposed to say that. The truth won’t go down well at all.
According to his valet . . .
A person as untrustworthy as that is probably just as valid a source as all those rumours about Diana and her various menfolk.
A bit like the DM really.

Anniebach Mon 13-May-24 08:50:37

Diana spoke of her menfolk

Mollygo Mon 13-May-24 09:14:15

Anniebach

Diana spoke of her menfolk

Even better.

The champion is Burrell

Smileless2012 Mon 13-May-24 09:35:49

You're right Annie. You have to have experienced being lied about and betrayed by a close family member you love, to even begin to understand what being estranged is like.

sometimes estrangement is less painful than trying to keep a very difficult relationship alive absolutely maddy and less painful than taking the risk that it may happen all over again.

How much more painful must it have been for H's family to have all of this played out in public with interviews and a book, just to make money.

Perhaps H never considered the impact his and M's revelations would have on his family. Maybe he thought once the dust settled nothing would have really changed.

It's a shame if that is the case that he never took a moment to consider that his father, brother and wider family despite loving him still, would no longer be able to trust him and his wife enough to want them in their lives.

Perhaps Harry has estranged Charles and co?

Anniebach Mon 13-May-24 09:42:32

Doubt it MissAdventure he wanted to stay in the royal family part time, he still wanted money, still wanted protection

MissAdventure Mon 13-May-24 09:43:52

I'm not surprised he wanted protection.
Gangs of marauding grannies after him. smile

Anniebach Mon 13-May-24 09:50:51

Smileless I base my opinion on these facts -

I was widowed age 33, I cannot put myself in the shoes of
someone widowed after many years.
A year before my husband’s death I lost my 3rd baby, years later my darling daughter took her life , the grief of these deaths cannot be compared.

What did Harry achieve by telling the world the King did head
stands in his boxer shorts to ease pain of an injury?

eazybee Mon 13-May-24 10:02:50

Oh Annie!
Right as always.

Smileless2012 Mon 13-May-24 10:32:26

What did he achieve Annie? The humiliation or the very least, embarrassment of his father.

I cannot put myself in your shoes Annie flowers. I only know what it is like to be estranged by the son we adore and from our only GC. For the wonderful relationship we enjoyed to be destroyed by the woman he married but it must be said, not without his co operation.

Anniebach Mon 13-May-24 10:45:24

Smiless I can only think how i would feel if I was estranged from my grandchildren but i don’t know the pain.

Harry goes on and on about his father not being demonstrative
No mention that after Diana died Charles took him on a royal
tour so as not to leave him alone.

Camilla condemned for loving Charles yet Diana’s affairs are
dismissed as hurt caused by Camilla, no matter Camilla first
husband was a notorious womaniser .

According to his valet Charles rang Camilla most days during the honeymoon.

‘According to his valet’. Oh dear Glorianny, your interest in tittle tattle about the RF is astonishing given your claimed dislike of them. Why do you bother to read this stuff?

Well as it seems the once hated Camilla has been elevated almost to sainthood I just like to remind people of the stuff they were once being fed about her and Charles.
I wonder if perhaps it might make them consider the stuff they are now being fed about Harry.
It doesn't of course. And the wonderful fake bandwagon with its "good royal" "bad royal" rolls on.

Anniebach Mon 13-May-24 10:53:45

Glorianny according to Diana’s butler he knew her unborn
second child was a boy and felt the baby kick when he placed
his hands on Diana’s tummy

Smileless2012 Mon 13-May-24 11:03:16

Anything we've been 'fed' about H has come from him Glorianny and I don't know why there are the constant references to hate on any threads about H & M.

I don't recall anyone ever saying they hate either of them and I'm not aware of anyone referring to Camilla as a saint either.

MissAdventure Mon 13-May-24 11:10:19

And yet the thread is 20 odd pages full of Meghan's dress, her feet, her pretending to be of Nigerian heritage, her touching her husbands back...

MissInterpreted Mon 13-May-24 11:11:05

You don't actually have to say you hate someone for that to be obvious. The level of vitriol meted out whenever H&M are mentioned on here is quite incredible. And I have no axe to grind either way - I've made no secret of the fact that I'm no fan of the RF in general.

Sparklefizz Mon 13-May-24 11:15:53

^What did Harry achieve by telling the world the King did head
stands in his boxer shorts to ease pain of an injury?^

.... or all the other tidbits he included, such as telling the whole planet that William had been circumcised?

Can you imagine how incandescent with rage Harry would be if William published details about Meghan's periods, for example?

Anniebach Mon 13-May-24 11:15:54

True Smileless, seems Camilla is on Glorianny’s hit list now
it was the Princess of Wales.

Baffles me how much Defence Megan has, what woman tells her husband she is in contact with his dead mother ?

MissAdventure Mon 13-May-24 11:17:56

Do we know Harry would be incandescent with rage?
Is that our slant on things?
