Buen dia from the patio in an early morning Spanish sunrise 🌅 where the chamberpot is being refilled as I can’t seem to loll abed after my allotted 7 hours…how things change with old age eh!

Loving the cruise photos- keep em coming Ash and I do hope that summer house gets sorted Roses, I practically live in mine for three months June-August! Here’s some 🌞 to go with it😂

It’s Romeria in this little town so lots of festive decorations on balconies and events through the next two days which we shall enjoy and a break from cooking as tapas will be plentiful with free flowing tinto verano🍷

A good weekend for all is ordered and hugs for those with troubles x

Good morning from a bright Bristol. Probably the last sunny day for a while if the Met Office is right 🙁
I was discharged from the ophthalmology department yesterday morning after a phone call. No more eye drops for the moment, but I need to go directly to the eye hospital A&E should symptoms reappear.
I walked the usual 30 minutes to my Spanish class, but didn’t get a lift back. The return journey is a hard slog uphill, I was exhausted when I got home. I stayed quiet for the rest of the day.
Today, an early trip to Waitrose, after which I’m serving coffee in church. I’ll try to spend the rest of the day quietly; I’ve had such a busy week.
Carpe diem and enjoy your weekend 🦩🦩🦩🦩

grandMattie Sat 11-May-24 06:01:42

Ash, I’m so envious of you having such a fantastic Aurora show last night and possibly tonight. Did you see it?

RosesandLilac Sat 11-May-24 06:08:15

Good morning from a bright hillside in south Glos where we had beautiful Northern lights display last night.
Yesterday I nearly exploded- I don’t think the summerhouse saga will ever end, the ordered parts were supposed to be delivered yesterday but when they arrived they weren’t the parts we need 🤷🏼‍♀️. I have never had such incompetence from a company in my entire life. So, more phone calls, more talking to people who can’t grasp that you cannot build a 10x8 building from 4’ sections and more assurances that t correct elements have been ordered…..
Today was supposed to have the builders back but obviously that’s not happening.
I will walk the dog and twiddle my thumbs as I can’t even do the borders because DH hasn’t finished faffing around with relaying the patio.
Please send gin 🌹

Good morning from Shropshire.Another scorcher forecast.

The children decided they wanted to stay over last night so an early wake up from H coughing his little socks off😢It’s going to be a long day.I’m not sure what we will do as I have to stay out of the sun.DD is taking us out for a meal early evening.

Good news that you have been discharged from Opthalmology grandMattie.

Have the best day you can everyone🦩

RosesandLilac Sat 11-May-24 06:09:11

There should be more tonight!

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is 7°. We have great weather forecast for First Communion Day, thank goodness!

Great news GM!

I have been awake since 5am, despite having had a very busy and stressful day yesterday.
An hour at church turned into four hours. A member of staff from one of the schools had been dispatched to put the children and family names on the seats.
She produced a bag of crumpled ribbons and tulle bows for the pew ends, which she had been given and did not have the necessary tools. I ended up giving her Blu Tak etc. from my stash, spent an hour ironing the ribbons and helping her.
I felt so sorry for her, especially as the two management members from both schools were nowhere to be seen.

After she left, the young sacristan and I were doing a check that all was well, when I realised the staff member had got all the seating wrong and even worse, the management had also miscounted where the short rows were. They had put twelve adults in each short row, which can only hold eight at a tight squeeze. It would have been carnage- chaos this morning.
I could have wept. The P.P appeared and nearly blew a gasket, when we told him.
Since they didn't respond to his calls, we ended up having to rearrange things.
These are the young women, who thought I was an interfering old biddy and refused any help or advice, because they knew what they were doing!.
This morning should be interesting.

My lovely DH was so understanding when I strolled in last night, having taken the initiative and organised dinner (despite it not being his forte). He had even raided the freezer, a place he refuses to venture into. wink

After a late dinner, I still had to email the bulletin to parishioners and upload it on the website.
Just before bed, I noticed my inbox was full of messages, alerting me to the fact that there was a glaring error in it. I do not produce it, but I was getting all the stick from parishioners! sad.
One email was particularly rude, thankfully I had only had one glass of wine, or I would have been very blunt honest about how I felt! wink

My biggest dilemma this morning wink is whether I should change what I am wearing. It rains most years on First Communion Day and my outfit had been planned with this in mind. I wasn't expecting a scorcher!!! 🤣
A third world problem indeed!

For those struggling, I send my best wishes. For those holidaying, have a great time.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 10° and dry. Lots of cloud about. RosesandLilac lovely photos. I missed the show by about half an hour! Susan enjoy your meal later. You deserve it. GrandMattie that's good news about your eyes.
Yesterday I had dgs2 for a while. We were mainly in the back garden as he played with water and sand. Then he discovered the play dough and did not want to go home. In the afternoon I had to lie down for a while because my legs were so painful -peripheral neuropathy. It eased off after a bit and I tidied up the garden toys. I tried to stay up to see the Northern Lights, but failed. I'll try again later tonight.
Today I will do a food shop at Aldi, then hang out the bedding. I've stripped the bed and it's in the washing machine already. I might nip to the garden centre for plants before the weather breaks tomorrow. Salad for dinner later. Have a good day all.

Good morning from s somerset and it will be another glorious day

Rose and lilac, keep quoting `unfit for purpose` and make sure to get a letter to the company director, company address to be found at companies house website. Keep a copy. I am assuming you have paid by credit card, which also gives you back up, also send a copy to the cc company. That is the first step of the process to `at least` get your money back. You are going to have to be very tenacious. Seems like they are ducking and diving

I had a simply glorious day yesterday, long ride in the morning. Sorted my winter/summer clothes in the afternoon and plenty of outside reading and plant titivating

`rest` day today but first a trip to waitrose as I want to make kimchi tomorrow

Have a good day

Grandmabatty Sat 11-May-24 06:57:41

Good luck Marydoll. I hope it goes well.

Good morning on a bright sunny one as we sail into Lerwick.

Yesterday’s weather was mixed on Lewis although it brightened up in the afternoon. Our trip to see a broch was not the best, mainly due to a less than adequate tour guide. In Belfast, our guide was warm, informative, knowledgeable and entertaining. Yesterday’s sounded like she was reading from notes but left us with more questions than answers! We did learn much about cutting peat, though!! However, I was pleased to find I was able to climb the rocky path to see the view from the broch, helped by using walking poles and by DH’s encouragement.

Here are a couple of photos of cats at Belfast Castle especially for JaxJacky! No, I didn’t have time to find all nine!

We didn’t see the Aurora last night, sadly. Brilliant photos, RosesandLilac.

Have a good weekend!

Good morning from sunny Spain, I’ll try to sit out before the breeze picks up. Sun and a cold wind, not my favourite combination.

MrOops continues to be under the weather, we managed to get some over the counter medicine yesterday, but he will need to call his GP when we get home next week, at least he can sit in the sun and do his exercises in the pool. He doesn’t feel the cold so is sitting outside reading most of the day.
Unusual for him as we are usually out every day enjoying the sights and restaurants.

Spotted some lemons in the tree in the garden so sent a pic.

Lovely to hear all of your news, have a good day everyone. x

grandMattie Sat 11-May-24 07:13:34

At what time was/will be the Aurora, rose?
We have tried three times to see it - once in northern Canada, once in Iceland and once in a special Aurora flight. 👎 Nada!

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny 🌞Northampton; misread the time on my watch, thought it said 7.30 when it was only 6.30, so I am up an hour earlier than usual! Never mind, I have my large mug of tea and a ginger biscuit. Have also put another load of washing in the machine, with at least another load to go in later.

Busy day yesterday; a visit to the shops with my trusty trolley to stock up on essentials and extra goodies. Remembered to use my M&S voucher.

Cut the front grass after lunch then spent ages clearing the weeds which were a veritable jungle on the driveway. How can so many have appeared when I was away? Then had an easy dinner of cold chicken and chips.

This morning will be pottering and putting away the last few things from my cruise, then an early lunch and off to live rugby. It's the last home match of the season, so the atmosphere will be electric, expecting 15,000 attendance. After the match we say goodbye to the leavers with special presentations, an emotional occasion. Must get my team shirt out.

Missed the aurora last night, DS and DD both sent me photographs; more expected tonight apparently.

Hope today goes well Marydoll!

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from an already sunny warm South Yorkshire. I have a bit of a thick head this morning as I had drinks with my five of my neighbours in one of their gardens last night. We sat out until very late but it was lovely. We did it a lot last summer. Today I’m going to paint my new garden gate. The rest of the fence will be done en famille over the next bank holiday if weather permits.
Glorious photos, Roses!
Have the best day you can, folks.

baubles Sat 11-May-24 07:25:19

Good morning from sunny South Lanarkshire.

Fabulous photos of the aurora, Roses. I missed it, I was exhausted and just couldn’t stay awake. Neighbours have posted fabulous photos too. Ah well, maybe tonight.

After being in Edinburgh all day yesterday we’re back today for DGD’s dance display.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Pittcity Sat 11-May-24 07:27:57

Good morning from an overcast Colchester. Warm and sunny is the forecast. I too slept through the aurora as DH was off again at stupid o'clock.
I am packing to go to DD1s for the weekend. Rugby club presentation evening for DGS1 this evening.
Love to all 🦩 x

kittylester Sat 11-May-24 07:34:01

Good morning all from a bright and sunny North Leicestershire.

Not a lot happening here today. I need to go the village and get a birthday card and some flowers.

DH is coughing less and is hoping to feel well enough to go to the final home game of the season.

Gingster Sat 11-May-24 07:35:17

Good morning all and it’s a bit Misty here in Essex. Sun later 🤞.

Today I have db, SIL, nephew and his wife coming for lunch. Other db should be coming but he can’t drive at the moment awaiting a heart bypass.😥. Dd and little gd will come sometime after dancing and ds1 will pop in to see them .

Roseandlilac im so furious and frustrated for you. What incompetence ! Hang on in there!
Lovely pics.

Marydoll what would they do without you! Hope all goes well today. ⛪️.

Yesterday we met our friends at the usual pub and sat outside for the first time this year in the glorious sunshine. Last week we were sitting around the log fire.

I had a phone call from ds2 saying they were sitting in A and E with little gd (9). She had very swollen glands and painful throat. They hadn’t been able to get a doctors appointment and were told to go to the pharmacy as they can now issue antibiotics! No luck there , so were told to go to A and E.!
Eventually got home late evening with antibiotics! 😤. What a waste of everyone’s time.

I hope everyone has a good day 🌸

Good morning all.
It’s to be a scorcher again today here on the east coast of Fife, I had all the fans on yesterday while sitting in my tiny conservatory looking out into the garden.
For a change I had my breakfast and lunch in the conservatory it was lovely looking outside

Have a good day my friends be careful
