Good morning zMick and all from sunny Lancashire, currently 15°C.

MrB and I have now changed our minds several times about which chairs we want. I’m so glad we agreed to investigate before deciding grin.

Today I really must get on with admin, including shredding.

Thinking of all going through tough times at the moment. Hope today is kind to us all..

Morning Mick, morning All. Clear sky over our corner of Somerset.

Off for a family gathering today. Looking forward to it although it’s 🤞 two motorways behave.

Beautiful Aurora photos. Our final cruise was a wonderful, magical snow filled winter cruise to the North of Norway where we were treated to three nights of the Aurora. Two on land and one at sea. Some happy memories triggered by the photos, thank you roses. I am so sorry about your summer house though. Done give up, it will come together, it has to.

Hope Saturday is kind to us all.

Good morning from a slightly misty Suffolk morning where the sun is expected later.

No plans for today other than the usual Saturday activities….dog walk,Waitrose delivery and changing our bed. Luckily the bedding will dry outside in no time.

I finally tackled the ironing mountain yesterday and realised it contained 3 pairs of DH’s pjs. I didn’t realise I’d left it for so long. I also watered all the posts in the small enclosed south facing back yard. The roses are just beginning to open and it looks like another good year for them.

Hope today is a good one for all however it is spent.

Lots of plans for the day reported already, and I especially hope that all goes well for Marydoll on such an important day - oh to be a fly on the wall! Planning to make the most of the good weather because it will vanish later today so washing on the line and gardening gloves on seems like a plan.

Morning all from what promises to be a very warm West Oxfordshire. Our potential new cleaning lady is popping in this afternoon.
Elder son and granddaughter are arriving in time for dinner and will stay the night. They’ll go back to Kew after Sunday lunch.
I’m afraid OH is still fussing about his bees. Some of his fellow beekeepers have been having problems with swarming etc.
I hope all goes well MD. You work so hard.🌹

Good morning from the Essex coast where the sun is trying to come out.
DH is off to Twickenham this morning to watch his club's first team play. I will drop him off to get the coach then do a bit of retail therapy.
Ironing awaits when I return but as DH will not return til about 10 this evening the day is mine to do as I wish.
Have a good Saturday everyone and lets hope the sun shines on us all xx

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders where it's warm enough to breakfast outside in my bower. It's a living willow bower made 20 years ago but now rather bedraggled.
We had aurora last night here too.

My df came to dinner and we sat out drinking wine.. This is rare!
I must be feeling better.

Another df has just been granted an allotment so I sent her away with plants galore from my garden.

I have booked a house viewing tomorrow to please my family but I would miss my garden so.

How awful Marydoll ! I don't know how you put up with it.
Likewise Roses though you have little choice.

I hope all the holidays continue well and I send get well messages to any in pain.

Good morning from a bright, warm and sunny Black Country.

Arrived home yesterday after a lovely few days in Malaga. Seems it was as sunny here as it was there when we were away.

Washing already on the go, whilst MrJ has popped out early for the food shopping.

Will catch up on all your news later.

Good morning from Durham where a warm, sunny day is on the cards.
Lovely pics - no sign of the aurora here last night, or else I missed it!
Coffee with a friend first today, then I’m going with DGS2 and DD2 to a 3rd birthday party, as Son-in-law is at football later - I expect chaos!
I must really get my finger out and pack later, as it’s a 5am start tomorrow.
The summerhouse saga sounds infuriating - I was slightly surprised when a friend bought hers through John Lewis, but they stepped in immediately when she had a (tiny) problem.
Hope Marydoll has a better day, but what happened to the ‘easing off’ 😊.
Best wishes to all for the weekend. X

Good morning Mick and everyone from warm sunny Carlisle.
Even I am starting to cast clouts!
Yesterday was just a gentle one of pottering, mostly sorting clothes away and reading. I am still feeling grotty and today also, the antibiotics are taking their time to kick in.

This morning I'll probably have the usual long phone chat with my sister. And the downside of sun is that it is showing up areas that need a good wipe down! I'll see how I feel... Sitting out and getting a bit of a tan seems a more attractive option.

Good luck Marydoll. Perhaps some of your parishioners need some apposite sermons from your priest?!

I hope you all can enjoy this lovely day.

grandMattie

At what time was/will be the Aurora, rose?
We have tried three times to see it - once in northern Canada, once in Iceland and once in a special Aurora flight. 👎 Nada!

From about 11pm to 2am last night.
This might help
aurorawatch.lancs.ac.uk
Good luck!

Morning all from a sunny S Hants, we too missed the aurora, but my daughter caught it, gMattie I’ve downloaded an app to notify me tonight if it’s visible here.
It took me a few visits to find all the cats Ashcombe!
Yesterday was more greenhouse pottering and I had the hose out in the evening to water. Today I’ll read the paper in the garden for a while, I’m looking forward to the double bill of Dr Who tonight, dinner will be later.
Thank you all for your lovely pictures.

Good morning from a bright and warm Co Durham.
Third load of washing almost ready to peg out. It’s amazing how some sunshine lifted the spirits.
Georgesgran the Aurora was visible from our nearby country park. Some lovely photos on fb this morning.
Rosesandlilac, hope you get your summerhouse sorted soon.
Marydoll fingers crossed for today.
I’ve so enjoyed the cruise and holiday photos.
Maybe I can push myself to take a trip somewhere.
Enjoy the sun everyone.

Morning from the edge of South Lanarkshire where I am still dog sitting with my sister in law. We’ve had a good week together although the wee dog is not doing at all well and we were up several times during last night with him. He is a lovely old boy but I’m afraid he is coming to the end of the road. DD and son in law return tonight and I’m afraid have a hard decision to make.

Lovely photos of last night’s light display, I hope I can catch it tonight at home.

Wishing everyone a good weekend and a successful First Communion Mass for Marydoll and co.

Georgesgran Sat 11-May-24 09:32:46

Thanks Grandmachrisy47. TBH I wasn’t aware of the Aurora - it was only speaking to my neighbour last night who made me aware. Far too early, although there was a bright new moon (so I turned my money over) and Nellie the bat was out.
I think Waldridge Fell will be the highest point around here if there’s anything to see, but I should get an early night with a stupid o’clock start tomorrow.

hollysteers Sat 11-May-24 09:38:58

Good morning Mick and all from 19° C Sunnyside northwest coast. Pastel drawing yesterday at art, which I like, but never like my finished result…when I have my op, I will not be able to sing for a couple of months, so I will concentrate on art. Moving between the two means neither gets full attention.

In the evening to a local production and I managed to stupidly book online a ticket at the back rather than the front which I intended. I was looking at the plan the wrong way round😁 It was fixed for me and I ended up on row B, just right, but I left in the interval after coffee and a chat even though the play was good. It just wasn’t for me.

DD arrives from the south later so I will fuss with her room and arrange a proper meal for a change.

Fab photos and enjoy the rest of you trip Ashcombe. It’s completely flat here grandMattie, boring terrain, but maybe I shouldn’t complain as there are no hills to climb!
Hope you all have the best day you can🌺

Grandmachrisy47 Sat 11-May-24 09:51:13

Georgesgran just found this photo taken near to me.

GrannyGravy13 Sat 11-May-24 11:49:40

Morning everyone (just) 🤣

I have been to Aldi, local butchers and our lovely Turkish grocery shop which now has a fresh meat and fish counter came away with marinated chicken wings along with some very large marinated prawns (which I will have to hide from The Imp later)

DD and the GC are popping in for a BBQ this afternoon, the boys will no doubt want to swim and we will retrieve the bouncy castle from its cobwebbed home.

I am rather pleased with myself, DS3 bought me a new iPhone yesterday, which I am very happy about, especially as I managed to set it up all on my own, it now has everything on it from my old iPhone 👏🤣

Marydoll I hope all goes well for you today, (looking forward to a novella tomorrow) 🤞🏻

Enjoy the Spanish sun Oops and Pant sorry your DH is still poorly Oops

Hope your cruise continues on calm waters Ashcombe

🙋‍♀️ have a good day
