Small Babies With Headbands

That looks really pretty, but I think it looks ok because the child is able to stand up. When I said I hate seeing babies in headbands, I meant babies in prams. Once they are older, it’s fine. I should have made my feelings clearer. Apologies.

I remember a few years back going into one of those Claire's Accessories shops which did ear piercing. There was a young woman there with a little baby getting its ears pierced - the poor thing was howling and crying and the girl doing the piercing asked the mum what she should do. She just said 'oh just ignore her and get on with it'. I was appalled.

Agree. Every time I see a baby with one on I think “what a shame”. It also seems a bit naff.

Having babies’ ears pierced is cruel and, as Allsorts says, dangerous. And, dare I say, it looks really common. Tattoos next, to get that over with?

There are times when I disagree with GSM 😉 but this time I’m in full agreement. Headbands, earrings tattoos (God help us!) naff and dangerous.

If you type baby tattoos into Google there are many pictures of baby boys with (I presume fake) tattoos, including on their faces and necks. You’re right, gender stereotyping is still rife.

The saddest thing about this whole topic is that still, in these enlightened times, the most important thing about a new baby is the gender. Stereotyping from the moment they are born.

The reason flat screens were on the list was because they are often linked to all those consumables that, as one poster stated, are bought by people of a certain class 😂

I never liked them anyway, but since reading of one poor little baby who was strangled by one that had slipped down, I think they should be banned.

Certainly wouldn't have a babies ears pierced. To me it’s gross. The child makes the decision when they reach an appropriate age. I think they could do serious damage if the child fiddled about with them or they got caught in something.My daughter I managed to get her to wait until 15, my granddaughter 14. It’s as if some parents don’t want their babies to look like babies tge way they dress them. I remember on a hot day mine lying out in the pram under a big canopy in just a nappy, sleeping.

There was discussion on tv the other night about the rights and wrongs of piercing babies ears.

One mum had three children and they all had theirs pierced at under a year old.

When asked why she chose to get them pierced so young, she simply said “Well, it gets it over with”.

Made it sound like having a vaccination.

The babies always seem to be bald too. The first time I saw this was on Phil Collins baby daughter, I just couldn't see the point.

Often, they barely have any hair to hold back!
I'd worry they'd slip and do some damage.

I don’t like them either. Poor babies probably can’t hear properly with their ears covered up with those ridiculous bands! 🤪

My daughter was premature and she had a little bobble hat on when I met her the first time.
Wrapped in bubble wrap, with tin foil over the top, and a stripey hat.

I think they look like dollys. Daft things. I used to knit little hats for them because they said they lose a lot of heat through their heads when newborn. My granddaughter was in the NICU and all the babies had little beanies on in the humidicribs to keep them warm. Some lovely volunteers used to knit them.

Ahhh... baubles is just as nice.
