Good morning from North Yorkshire. High clouds and breezy so far.
I drove home yesterday. There was torrential rain in some places but it was dry and sunny here when I got back so I mowed the lawns.
Food shopping this morning and an order to collect at the foodhall. Book club this afternoon.
urms thoughts with you about your trip to the Christie. Chemo days are very tiring.

Thank you for your good wishes yesterday. I'm still feeling grim, but hopefully not as grim as yesterday! Fingers crossed that the lifelong prophylactic antibiotics, I take, will do their job and I can avoid phoning the surgery.

I will be doing little else, but practising my sympathetic face, for Mr MD. For the first time ever, he needs a crown, today will be the preparatory work. You would think he is having major heart surgery! 😉

Good morning from a grey and drizzly Black Country, where we are back after a few days away in Somerset.

Saturday was a gloriously sunny day and we visited Wells which was very busy. Sunday it rained most of the day, went for a walk and came back absolutely soaked.

On the way home we popped into visit MrJ's DD's in their new house in Bristol. Spent a sunny couple of hours in their small garden and met their boyfriends.

Washing to put on and put caravan stuff back up in the loft today.

So sad to hear about your friend Monk such a tragedy too to lose all her sons so young. I cannot imagine her pain.

Best wishes to your DD Gingster not a very good experience for her, it seems these things are not being taken very seriously. My SIL is having the same treatment, its viral, it's a chest infection, but no further forward after almost 2 weeks!

Good morning from a grey W Kent. Taking advantage of being a bit further into Kent we are off to Tenterden today. It is years since we have been what with lockdown etc so we will be interested to have a walk round and I am sure we will visit the railway.
Monk such sad news. Gingster glad your DD is home but sorry she had a bad experience.

Yes Stillearning I dont think many are fully qualified nurses. They seem to be just health care assistants. My Dd always seems to be in a ward with elderly ladies who aren’t treated very kindly. My Dd spends her time watching and intervening where necessary. The old style Matrons are what’s needed.

Good morning from a grey Essex coast. Rain is forecast for later.
We spent a lovely afternoon yesterday with DH's eldest daughter and family, mostly in the garden until the rain came.
Today he is off to his beloved boat, I have admin and housework to attend to.
Such sad news from Monk.
Gingster I'm glad your DD is home but I am sure you are not happy at the way she was treated in hospital. I hope she feels better in the coming days.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a rather dreary South Yorkshire where it is set to rain heavily again today. I got my trailing fuschia put up in their hanging pots yesterday, and got caught up in a few gardening job before it started raining. I’m thinking of going into town today to go to the art gallery if it’s open. I also want to buy a couple more cordial bottles with swing tops from Sostrene Grene so that I can use them for elderflower cordial which, if it’s sunny enough to pick the elderflowers, I will make on Saturday. There are lots about locally at the moment - they seen to have come out all of a sudden - but you need the right weather to pick them.

Having spent a fortune at the garden centre yesterday and then got pots and borders sorted (well, my lovely gardener did while I supervised and cleared up) I am aching but very pleased this morning. Just wish I could do it myself but have to accept that I can’t and am lucky to have such high quality help. It will all look splendid in a week or two.

Grey and damp this morning but supermarket shop beckons and a book to finish for later in the week. Not much happening otherwise, but hoping that our various invalids and sufferers have a good day.

Am bothered at the moment with a sore jaw, left side. No idea what brought it about..
Felt tired yesterday after entertaining my visitor on Saturday and Sunday and read in the garden when the sun came out.

Today to the usual music club. I’m ‘on the desk’ and will sing, so need to practise, sore jaw or no.
Car insurance up £100 or so, will have a shop around.

Good morning everyone from a very dull and overcast Northampton, much rain forecast today including heavy thunderstorms. Shall not be attempting the health walk this afternoon, especially as I have a bruised knee after missing a step, and I think I need to rest it, and take some ibuprofen.

Took a chance yesterday and started what I think is our next book club read - 'The Whalebone Theatre'; so far so good, and looking forward to picking it up again.
No cooking tonight as I cooked a double portion of stirfried chicken and rice yesterday. Just need to reheat.

Well, it has just started raining ☔!

Good morning Mick and everyone from bright and breezy Carlisle.
Not a bad day yesterday weatherwise, I nipped over to the garden centre after lunch for a few more bedding plants. It was busy, of course, being the Bank Holiday, lots of folk mulling over the bedding of which there was still a great deal on offer. I picked out some greatly reduced items, I think I know which ones will just need some TLC and which really need the last rites...
Today is a resumption of household chores after my holiday and after those I hope to get out to plant my purchases.

Good morning from East Lothian where we are enjoying being back at our flat and spending time with DD2 and family.

The sun was shining but it is clouding over now. Rain forecast for later. I went round to DD’s yesterday afternoon to do some gardening. I arrived to find they had gone out and I didn’t have a key. I huddled under my umbrella at the back door where the cat thought I had come to let her in (she has a cat flat in the utility room door 😂). After a few minutes I decided to garden in the rain, still holding my umbrella over me. It was very warm and I soon discarded the umbrella. The rain stopped temporarily and I pottering around happily, weeding and potting up some young plants. I was just thinking a cup of tea would be nice when family arrived back, along with DH who’d been shopping for food.

Today I will go with DD to her Pilates class. When the rain arrives later I will read my bookclub book for the June meeting and knit another triangle for the bunting I am doing. My knitting is very basic and requires great concentration if I am to end up with the right shape.

So sorry to hear of your friend’s death Monk.

Gingster, it’s so sad when healthcare staff forget that basic kindness is as important as the practical aspects of their job.

Marydoll, I hope you can start your treatment soon.

The weekend found me tidying the garage and bringing out the rest of the chairs. Beechnutella came over on Sunday and she helped me with a few things yesterday before she went home.
I’m off to get some groceries for store and a few other things this morning.

Morning from a damp and chilly S Hants, we woke to hear heavy rain. At last I got my greenhouse sorted yesterday with toms and cu in their grow bags, late this year. Quiz was busy last night, we came our usual fourth, the teams with a good age range do better than us oldies.
No real plans today apart from fuelling up my car.

Good morning from a grey Dunblane. Not much happening here recently just toddling along but that is not always a bad thing. I eventually managed to get bedding plants in my pots this weekend better late than never! A quick trip into Stirling yesterday got what we wanted and home again no hanging about. The place was deserted it has certainly gone downhill a bit since Covid. It has taken a wee while to recover from the bug/virus I picked up on holiday but seem to be on the mend now. Hope Marydoll and all the other poorlies make a quick recovery.

It's not the 29th today if it was it would be my birthday

Good morning Mick and all from rainy Lancashire, currently 14°C.

The sun stayed with us yesterday. I had a lovely walk, snapped a train photo and found lots of lovely wildflowers along the woodland path. The air smelled so fresh. The wind was chilly, the sun was warm and if my legs hadn’t been tired I would happily have stayed out all afternoon.
