Today at Wednesday Club we are having a talk from a member of Toads who used to be a fireman and has enjoyed acting in several plays. It’s entitled: From Fire To Foyer!

Good morning from a bright Bristol. No rain forecast today, but the temperatures will remain in the mud-teens.
I did a lot yesterday, requiring “much planning “ regarding buses and library opening times…. All successful!
Today, I have quite a few things on, including hosting a hairdressing salon…. I’m having a trim at home, but two of my neighbours are joining me - it is easier than the woman packing all her stuff and going to each household!

Good morning Mick and followers, it’s cool and grey skies here in south Glos. Yesterday was definitely chilly and today is apparently going to be the same.
I finally had an email from the summerhouse company, it looks like they’re agreeing to taking the blasted thing back. I have a list of 22 faults and I have had enough.
Will see what happens 🙏🤞🏻

I did my last planter yesterday and started weeding the borders again- I have so much willow herb appearing. It seeds from the woods behind us.
Today I hope to do more gardening, I enjoy pootling around outside.

Good morning from a cloudy, fresh Cornwall. Kind comments here for me yesterday; thank you. My daughter-in-law is visiting today and her flame red hair and quirky clothes are always a boost. Marydoll, I'd love to hear your husband and my son discussing German tunnels! My boy sent some hair-raising photos yesterday taken underground. We have a plan to mudlark the far reaches of the Thames when I'm active again, hardly an adventure but it will be fun with him. Here he is giving me my birthday present on Wetherspoon's roof garden.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 5° and sunny. It's blooming cold! I had forgotten to put the bin out so have just done the walk of shame in my dressing gown and felt every bit of a cold wind rustle under it. Ash and GrandMattie I hope both your talks are interesting! RosesandLilac I'm glad you are getting some restitution for the summer house but what a nuisance for you. Mizuna that's a lovely photo.
Yesterday was a much better day with dgs2. No tantrums. We think both boys have been watching too much tv and have got addicted to certain programmes, so grandma's tv was broken yesterday. Whether it was that or not, he was much happier. We nipped to the pharmacy after nursery drop off where I encountered a former colleague. She was one of the most unpleasant people I ever worked with. Yesterday she was extremely unhappy that I wasn't going to stop and chat, despite the fact that she never chatted at work but would insult you to your face. I was glad I had dgs2 as an excuse. Last time I met her, she coralled me with a trolley in Aldi and I couldn't escape. After my lucky escape yesterday, we walked to Aldi where certain goodies were bought for both boys. Then playing in the back garden and then lunch, nap and nursery pick up.
Today is my peaceful day. I will potter about. I'll have to water the garden and might pull a few weeds. I'll probably visit mum this afternoon. I need to arrange a nursing home visit to decide where best suits mum, so that'll be on the to-do list. Have a good day all.

Good morning Michael I hope and pray your scan is a clear one. It’s a beautiful start to the day here on the east coast of Fife apart from a slight wind. ( that’s not me)
I’m off out today with my new PA. who’s taking me to a local garden centre for compost and begonias.
I’m going to have a lovely day I’m going to show him how to make easy peasy lentil soup. He’ll probably take some home with him as I usually make too much.

Good morning from cool s somerset, the weather will be nice and sunny and dry

My new fig came yesterday, it is lovely, tall and already has a fig on it. I am going to get rid of the one which is just thin twigs with one very tiny leaf at the base. I will treat the new one better and it will live no bigger than a 14 litre pot all through its life

A very easy day for me yesterday, pottering and trying to make spaces. Ended up with very active lovely whatsapp, me and five siblings. I am still the centre of the wheel always have been, being the eldest

A bit of active exercise for me this morning, then I need to continue to find spaces for bits and bobs

Good morning from South Lanarkshire where it’s still a bit wet and cool.

I found myself at a loose end yesterday so started a crochet baby blanket for one of my young neighbours. She’s had a difficult pregnancy, poor soul, she can’t wait for it to be over.

Food shopping today I think, once I’ve had a look through the freezer and cupboards to see what’s needed. It’s my least favourite household chore, in my fantasy life I’d have someone to organise all that. A chef and a personal hairdresser would be my dream.

Good morning from a sunny W Kent. Our U3A outing to the Gurdwara was very interesting. Our guide was very informative and we ended up with a curry in the biggest canteen I have ever seen. Today I am visiting a friend for coffee and then DH and I will do a walk this afternoon.

Good morning from Malta where it is hot, sticky and due to reach 30°C.

Grandmabatty remind me how old are your boys. We also realised the boys were watching a lot of tv so I don’t put it on at all now and they have soon got used to it.

It means I read to them a lot more and find other ways to amuse them. They are not allowed screens at all which I agree with.

Took them to the paediatrician yesterday who was pleased with their progress. They both weigh exactly the same although one is 1cm shorter than his brother!

I’ve been enjoying the tennis and am very glad Djokovic has withdrawn as I can’t stick him!😄

Just some shopping then pottering in the garden today until DD2 and the DGC come round to eat later. I’ve seen more of her these last few weeks since she split up with her partner than I have for ages - I’m pleased she talks to me though, even if it’s hard work sometimes
What a shame about the summerhouse roses you should have been enjoying it by now rather that the awful hassle you’ve had

Good morning all.

We will pack today for our 10 day Danube river cruise starting tomorrow with Saga. The weather is not looking especially promising. No expectations as we haven’t done one before. We will be picked up from home to fly out to Frankfurt and then back home from Vienna.

We dropped some newly planted hanging troughs off at the other grandparents to look after as the rest of the garden will be watered by our neighbour a couple of times while we are away. We seem to have beaten the pests eating the dahlias as they are starting to grow properly now. However, some did not come up at all. The other GM has prepared a large area of flowerbed to house her new garden furniture digging up a small tree in the process. I was completely amazed as she is older than me but vastly fitter than I am. Her DH is like me with lots of arthritic problems.

Both GC were fine this week. I will miss them while we are away. I’m so sorry you had a traumatic day with DGS2 Grandmabatty on Monday and glad that yesterday was better for you. Ours had a huge meltdown on Saturday which attracted a lot of passing attention at the outdoor event we went to on Saturday with his parents and sister who was dancing. 🫤

Good morning from the Algarve, our last morning here as we return home this afternoon. After three weeks of wall to wall sun and beautiful beach walks it will be hard to leave but lots will need our attention back home.

OH has things to do with his bees. He’s ordered some labels for the honey jars - I hope they’ll arrive soon.

I agree Bellasnana that now Djokovic has withdrawn (with all his prancing about wanting applause) the lovely young Italian Sinner will now replace him as No. 1.

My friend and I ran a Jewellery/Scarves/Handbags fundraiser at our WI yesterday and raised a decent amount of cash for our funds. I got two lovely scarves. Exhausted afterwards and so grateful to DH for cooking a delicious ham and mushroom omelette with crunchy chips, for our evening meal. 👍

Bellasnana the boys are 5 and 2 1/2. I think the tv being on became the norm and a bad habit. Dd and Dsil have noticed that it's causing issues with dgs2, so very limited screen time. Glammagran you have my sympathy. When dgs2 had his major meltdown in the street on Monday, he was extremely vocal and I'm sure neighbours would have been tutting, if they hadn't experienced anything like it. Dgs1 never had tantrums, so this strong willed wee thunderstorm came out of the blue!

I know what you mean about the pictures of the tunnels!! I couldn't believe how difficult they were to negotiate, but DH loved the experience.

Llfl, the photos of the honey are impressive!! I'm so interested in growing your own activities. I love picking herbs and veggies from the garden. Unfortunately, my beds are rather sparse this year, I just haven't been up to it.
However, Mizuna, there are lots of apples on the twig.

Yesterday because I was so fed up at our cancelled day out, I decided to go to Silverburn. I was hardly there, when I began to feel unwell and had to return home.
As I got to my car a lovely young man, who was a Silverburn employee came and asked if he could help me, as he had noticed I was struggling.
I was quite overwhelmed by his kindness. The General Manager is a friend, so I messaged him to commend the young man's actions. Nowadays people are quick to complain, but rarely acknowledge kindness.
The afternoon was spent dozing in the conservatory, I felt so awful. Another wasted day and every one is precious.😉

No idea what the plans are for today.

Today we’ve friends calling in with their camper van, then off to a market.

Our GD3 is 6 2 days before the start of year 2 so is the youngest in her year. She does get tired some days. She has never had a tantrum but is sensitive and gets upset at times. She accidently flushed a fly down a school toilet which led to hysterical tears for half an hour as she’d killed it. DGS2 is a force of nature and had tantrums long before he’d turned 2. He was 3 in April. The other GP’s are bemused as they had 3 boys who never had tantrums.

Good morning all and it’s a beautiful start here at the Suffolk seaside. A squall last evening that lasted all of 10 minutes.

Yesterday we walked over the Dunwich Heath and saw so many wild flowers - even the Heather was showing some colour. Then on to the cafe on the beach for the best ever fish and chips. I wasn’t able to see the foxgloves Liberty as Dingle Hill tearoom was closed. 😢. I hope your hotel lunch was good 👍.

Roseandlilac there’s a glimmer of hope for you . Once you’re recompensed will you get another ? I expect you’ve lost interest in having one now! 🏡.

Llf I’m sure that honey will be worth all the trouble your dh has had with his bees. 🐝.

Good morning from a sunny Suffolk after an evening of heavy rain,the right balance of weather.

I have my keep fit class this morning and then an afternoon hopefully in the summerhouse. Yesterday the rain which was forecast held off so that my friend and I enjoyed a walk along the prom before our pensioners’ lunch. The dining room of the hotel was packed,talk about the silver ££ and the menu reminded us of meals served in the 50s….eg jam roll poly and custard one of the desserts but we enjoyed the whole experience.

Hope this Suffolk sun extends to you all.

Thank you Grandmabatty and I do know how it feels! My own four children were not prone to tantrums, neither is Twin 1 who has a mild, laid back nature. His brother, however, is a hurricane and has ‘strong feelings’ over just about everything, particularly when it comes to sharing.

I find I can mostly deal with him but I’m sure the neighbours must wonder what on earth is going on!

They start nursery on 4th July which will be interesting!😄
