Morning everyone. The sun is shining here. I've woken up with a dreadful headache and a flat tyre. Hopefully the day will improve from here!!

It's 12.8 C. Here at work with the coal fire going in my shop!

I'm waiting for a delivery of a new box of 60 tins of untamed cat food for our little fluff god! She loves them and won't really touch any other brand!

It's raining again which is brilliant as I love rain!

Today I'm off to the southwest coast of Ireland for 4 days, my husband has respite till Monday so my grandson and myself plus his dog have rented a cottage on the coast, having grown up in London in flats I appreciate the outstanding beauty of Western Ireland, we moved to Kerry 20 years ago and I m still in love with it, not so much the rain but that's probably why it's so green

Good morning from N Bucks where it is sunny but coolish.
Off to London to look after Flynn overnight while his mummy and daddy accompany (and drive) DH’s sisters to Ouistreham (Sword Beach) for tomorrows D Day events .
They are going overnight and coming back overnight on Thursday /Friday.
I remember doing that with DH for the 60th anniversary and once earlier when his father’s “ Place “ was inaugurated. Punishing! (But we were younger in those days)
Back in time for my friend’s funeral on Friday though.

Problems with the shower which is only tepid so am awaiting plumber, probably not till Friday. There is always something! Lovely morning so a garden potter and then singing this afternoon, all good. Handyman to repair shed roof due tomorrow. I hadn’t noticed that some roofing felt had come off but my NDN spotted it from an upstairs window so no real damage has been done. As I said, always something.

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny 🌞 Northampton, apparently it's quite chilly out, so will need warmer clothes on.

Had a good time chatting over coffee and cake yesterday morning. Prompted by our chat in the morning I found myself looking at next year's cruises after lunch, and booked one to the Eastern Med next April! I now have to wait for them to ring me to check if I am suitable for the included insurance.

A morning of general pottering, an early lunch, and then out to the cinema, where I shall be watching a French rom-com. A bit of shopping in town before I return home on the bus. Must put the bins out when I get back.

I also booked to see the musical 'Pretty Woman' which is on at the theatre in September; only 2 seats left in my preferred seating area.

Glammagran I am sure you will love your river cruise; I did a Saga Danube cruise the year before lock-down and thoroughly enjoyed it. Let us know about your adventures.

Builders arrived 8am prompt - banging and hammering has commenced!
I’m going to collect Little Dog later - it’ll get me out of the house and away from the noise.
DGS2 is 3 today. How time flies, his Grandad didn’t live long enough to meet him 😢 - they would have adored each other. Must dash, so I’ll read properly later.

Nice day yesterday, the music club was very enjoyable with a nice variety of music and good companionship. The only fly in the ointment is a poetry reader who goes on and on. I was in charge, on the desk and am trying to get her to read shorter poems, but it’s not sinking in…

It’s my youngest sister’s birthday today who lives in the south. She was due to come here last week but her husband is recovering from heart surgery so she is on nursing duty.
Housework today, broken up by spells in the sun.

Good morning Michael and all GNs from a chilly South Yorkshire where the sun can’t seem to make its mind up. I hope it will be dry, as the man who has been cleaning my patio couldn’t finish yesterday because of the weather. He was re-sanding the joints prior to sealing it, and couldn’t understand why the sand was disappearing as fast as he was putting it down, as if there was space underneath it. I said we’d probably got a sink hole! We laughed. I hope we’re still laughing today!
I had a chat on the phone to my son last night, and then one with my grandson who caddied for his father yesterday at a golf club where his other grandad had been captain for a number of years. GS was allowed to hit a few shots and was delighted when he out drove dad and both his uncles on one hole. I said both his grandads would have been proud of him!
Writers group at the library this afternoon, and then I am going to come home and tackle the Triangle of Doom at the back of my garden wall!

Good morning all from a brightish North Leicestershire.

Busy day in prospect here. DH is off to the gym, I have to get to the other side of Leicester for no 4 of 5 Carer Learning sessions, our cleaners will be here at 8.45 and the gardener shortly after. Good job DH will be back to cope.

Our Memory Cafe yesterday was fun but very noisy as the local playgroup came to sing for our guests. They brought all manner of shakey, noisy things and sang very loudly.

Yesterday was spent tidying cupboards again, unfortunately I still haven't found what I am looking for.
SIL is coming today and we will go shopping, last week the scanners weren't working and it took us ages to shop.

Good morning everyone from a sunny but wet south Manchester. I’m taking L’il Miss for lunch today. Her mum wants to spend a few hours doing reports on her laptop so she will drop miss chatterbox off here late morning. I’ve told her we will go on the train from across the road and she is SO excited! She’s only ever been on one once ‘and can’t remember about it’. 😁

Thank you Grandmabatty and I do know how it feels! My own four children were not prone to tantrums, neither is Twin 1 who has a mild, laid back nature. His brother, however, is a hurricane and has ‘strong feelings’ over just about everything, particularly when it comes to sharing.

I find I can mostly deal with him but I’m sure the neighbours must wonder what on earth is going on!

They start nursery on 4th July which will be interesting!😄

Good morning from a sunny Suffolk after an evening of heavy rain,the right balance of weather.

I have my keep fit class this morning and then an afternoon hopefully in the summerhouse. Yesterday the rain which was forecast held off so that my friend and I enjoyed a walk along the prom before our pensioners’ lunch. The dining room of the hotel was packed,talk about the silver ££ and the menu reminded us of meals served in the 50s….eg jam roll poly and custard one of the desserts but we enjoyed the whole experience.

Hope this Suffolk sun extends to you all.

Good morning all and it’s a beautiful start here at the Suffolk seaside. A squall last evening that lasted all of 10 minutes.

Yesterday we walked over the Dunwich Heath and saw so many wild flowers - even the Heather was showing some colour. Then on to the cafe on the beach for the best ever fish and chips. I wasn’t able to see the foxgloves Liberty as Dingle Hill tearoom was closed. 😢. I hope your hotel lunch was good 👍.

Roseandlilac there’s a glimmer of hope for you . Once you’re recompensed will you get another ? I expect you’ve lost interest in having one now! 🏡.

Llf I’m sure that honey will be worth all the trouble your dh has had with his bees. 🐝.

GM I’d give that Speaker a miss. Some of ours at the U3A are dire. 😴.

Bellasnana the boys are 5 and 2 1/2. I think the tv being on became the norm and a bad habit. Dd and Dsil have noticed that it's causing issues with dgs2, so very limited screen time. Glammagran you have my sympathy. When dgs2 had his major meltdown in the street on Monday, he was extremely vocal and I'm sure neighbours would have been tutting, if they hadn't experienced anything like it. Dgs1 never had tantrums, so this strong willed wee thunderstorm came out of the blue!

Our GD3 is 6 2 days before the start of year 2 so is the youngest in her year. She does get tired some days. She has never had a tantrum but is sensitive and gets upset at times. She accidently flushed a fly down a school toilet which led to hysterical tears for half an hour as she’d killed it. DGS2 is a force of nature and had tantrums long before he’d turned 2. He was 3 in April. The other GP’s are bemused as they had 3 boys who never had tantrums.

Morning from a sunny Dorset, chilly at 10. We had the most delicious meal in the middle of the countryside last night, we’ve been before and it never disappoints.
Today we’ve friends calling in with their camper van, then off to a market.

I know what you mean about the pictures of the tunnels!! I couldn't believe how difficult they were to negotiate, but DH loved the experience.

Llfl, the photos of the honey are impressive!! I'm so interested in growing your own activities. I love picking herbs and veggies from the garden. Unfortunately, my beds are rather sparse this year, I just haven't been up to it.
However, Mizuna, there are lots of apples on the twig.

Yesterday because I was so fed up at our cancelled day out, I decided to go to Silverburn. I was hardly there, when I began to feel unwell and had to return home.
As I got to my car a lovely young man, who was a Silverburn employee came and asked if he could help me, as he had noticed I was struggling.
I was quite overwhelmed by his kindness. The General Manager is a friend, so I messaged him to commend the young man's actions. Nowadays people are quick to complain, but rarely acknowledge kindness.
The afternoon was spent dozing in the conservatory, I felt so awful. Another wasted day and every one is precious.😉

No idea what the plans are for today.

My friend and I ran a Jewellery/Scarves/Handbags fundraiser at our WI yesterday and raised a decent amount of cash for our funds. I got two lovely scarves. Exhausted afterwards and so grateful to DH for cooking a delicious ham and mushroom omelette with crunchy chips, for our evening meal. 👍

It is the WI committee meeting this evening so I have bits and pieces to prepare.
OH has things to do with his bees. He’s ordered some labels for the honey jars - I hope they’ll arrive soon.
Otherwise, I have laundry and ironing to catch up on. Always a joy and a delight. Not.

Good morning from the Algarve, our last morning here as we return home this afternoon. After three weeks of wall to wall sun and beautiful beach walks it will be hard to leave but lots will need our attention back home.

Yesterday was very muggy but the evening rain has freshened things up.

Good morning all.

We will pack today for our 10 day Danube river cruise starting tomorrow with Saga. The weather is not looking especially promising. No expectations as we haven’t done one before. We will be picked up from home to fly out to Frankfurt and then back home from Vienna.

We dropped some newly planted hanging troughs off at the other grandparents to look after as the rest of the garden will be watered by our neighbour a couple of times while we are away. We seem to have beaten the pests eating the dahlias as they are starting to grow properly now. However, some did not come up at all. The other GM has prepared a large area of flowerbed to house her new garden furniture digging up a small tree in the process. I was completely amazed as she is older than me but vastly fitter than I am. Her DH is like me with lots of arthritic problems.

Both GC were fine this week. I will miss them while we are away. I’m so sorry you had a traumatic day with DGS2 Grandmabatty on Monday and glad that yesterday was better for you. Ours had a huge meltdown on Saturday which attracted a lot of passing attention at the outdoor event we went to on Saturday with his parents and sister who was dancing. 🫤
