Good morning from s somerset and a cool and cloudy day, with maybe a pop of sunshine now and then

My cultured butter is almost cultured and will be ready to process this morning. Long fermentation sourdough starter is almost ready and can be stored for a week. I plan on making some capsules later today and I have kefir which needs my attention

No gooseberry picking today, I did a batch yesterday.

I need to find some storage space but it is not urgent, it just makes me feel guilty for ten minutes

Good morning from a chilly, grey Bristol. The wind was vicious yesterday, I had to wear a thick fleece and gloves when going out.
I had a lovely surprise yesterday; DS invited himself over for a couple of nights as DD’s FiL wanted to use her spare bed! Quickly change dinner plans from boring to gammon steaks and various vegetables that he likes and doesn’t get in India. Meals are also mea5 heavy as DD’s family are vegetarian.
The hairdressing salon went well, was chatty, but a lot of tearing up with DDay stories, etc. I shan’t watch any of it; I find it too painful.
My talk wasn’t too boring, but I was tired, deprived of my post prandial nap, it was dark for the slides and warm so I slept through most of it. I hope I didn’t snore, and beat a hasty retreat when it finished! 🤣
Only tai chi today. I shan’t go to DD’s this evening as DS is here.

Good morning Mick and all from a dry and bright north 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 where I’m brewing up and will sit out and ponder a less busy day after a slew of recent appointments for Mr PG and my dad where I’ve had my chauffeuse cap on at the crack of dawn!🫡

All you travellers, usual suspects 😉, are giving me ideas and itchy feet, can’t wait for my jolly to Morocco at the end of this month 🥳

Domestic goddessing in the kitchen will suit me today, a Thai curry and batch of bolognese will be wafting around and save me time when I get the CBA award 🥇 (can’t be assed).

Will catch up later this evening when I treat myself to a sundowner 🥂x

I’m glad the talk you attended, grandMattie was better than anticipated, even though the atmosphere was soporific. Our speaker was most entertaining in his telling of anecdotes from his years as a retained fireman.

Today, DH is travelling over from France and should arrive by late afternoon.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 5° and sunny. It's a bit breezy too. Karma it's too early up here for gooseberries yet. I look forward to them to make jam. pantglas nice to have a trip to look forward to.
Yesterday was a quiet day mostly spent indoors. We had torrential rain showers on and off. The hospital phoned to say mum was deteriorating and once again refusing food and drink. I went in to see her in the afternoon and she wouldn't engage with me at all. She kept her eyes firmly closed and turned away. Oh well, who knows what will happen? She's had more come backs than Frank Sinatra.
Today I have no plans. A bit of weeding, tidying and hoovering. I might clean the windows, a job I'm spectacularly bad at, no matter the method used. Chicken teriyaki for dinner I think. Have a good day all.

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.
Last night’s WI committee meeting went well. I made it clear that this is my last year (eighth) as Secretary and they will have to find someone else. The President is standing down too but there is someone already angling for that position! I will start typing up the notes this morning. OH and I are going to a nearby pottery for lunch and a mooch in their excellent shop! On the way home we will pop in the garden centre and buy some more supports for the shrubs in our back garden. I will encourage OH to cut the lawns!

Good morning from my patio in Cornwall, where a beady-eyes gull is watching me eat my croissant. The pic is a corner of my patio where valerian and foxgloves have self-seeded from the woods above. My daughter-in-law came with flowers and jars of artichoke hearts and went home with a tin of black exterior paint for an ambitious art project. If my home was laid out in a hangar à la TV makeover programme they would be saying, 'Mizuna, you have 200 tins of paint, 100 pieces of random wood and one lipstick.' 😂 Today I'll go to Perranporth on the bus and oggle that amazing beach.

Good morning from a glorious South Downs. It has been beautiful the past week or so but one day there was a really chilly wind. Much better now.

Nearly finished the clear of the garden. Just a tiny bit left then the little Japanese garden and finished - yippee - will then start the summer routine of feeding/ weeding /watering/tying in etc.

My fledgling starlings are growing up. They’ve progressed from being fed to feeding themselves now, so to help them I scatter mealy worms and they dash around trying to find them. They are still a dull brown with white chin but will gradually change to that lovely metallic sheen, they seem to love the bird bath.

The roses this year are absolutely weighed down with blossom - it must have been the winter/spring rain. I have bowl fulls in the house with their scent wafting around.

The foxes are bringing their cubs now for their evening meal. Dear little miniature versions - but so very timid, which is a good thing as the human race can be pretty foul. I am giving them extra to feed them up as they will soon be chased away by their parents and have to make their way in the world which is pretty tough.

All the summer salads are now beginning to be ready to pick now. We have the shorter cucumber version this year,which produces more fruit but shorter in length - they are delicious eating and one tomato - don’t know the name - DH is growing amongst a couple of other varieties is almost black and that is very sweet. So will grow those again no doubt.

I’ve had sad news this morning as my sister in law in Canada has died. She was like a mum to me when I spent a year over there after leaving school. Sadly, dementia had taken over these past few years so we could no longer chat. My heart is heavy. It’s the end of an era.

I’m with the boys, one is asleep, his brother has had breakfast so it will be an out of synch sort of a day.

Good morning from a rather grey and cool hillside in south Glos, wasn’t it cold yesterday? I lit the wood burner in the afternoon, I couldn’t get warm despite wearing layers.
I finished tidying the back garden yesterday, I will start the front one this morning.
DH emptied his shed; I suggested that instead of buying an even bigger one 🙄that he actually sorted out the one he has. He’s already changed it twice and there isn’t room for an even bigger one. There’s now a very big pile of empty pain tins, assorted empty cardboard boxes and other unwanted things awaiting a trip to the recycling centre.
Spaghetti bog for dinner I think.

Hair dresser and man to mend the shed the highlights of today and need to plan meals for DD and DSiL’s visit at the weekend. Otherwise not a lot in view so some filing and reading are possibilities. Not very exciting but none the worse for that.

My gooseberries are nowhere near ready, Karma and probably only enough for one pot of jam! However, there seems to be an abundance of blackcurrants.

We have Babydoll today and I need to get up and prepare her breakfast pancakes. She has turned into Dollie.
It takes me ages to get going these days, so I need to get a move on, although I would rather stay in bed,😉

I am experiencing some very low moods and tired of being constantly unwell and restricted in what I can do. However, I do enjoy reading of all your activities and busyness.
Hopefully our little ray of sunshine will lift my spirits.

Good morning Michael and all GNs on what promises to be a good weather day. It’s cold though Sleep was elusive last night. I went to bed feeling as if I was coming down with something. I usually go out with the walking group but plans are in flux this morning until I know whether work on my patio is being finished off. There’s only about half an hour’s work left to do. It’s irritating. I can’t put anything back in place until it’s done. I must also try and get to the local garden centre.

Good morning from a cloudy cool Cambridgeshire. Our travel home went well but we were both very tired as it was late evening when we reached home. Today cases to unpack and washing to do. Doesn’t look a good drying day out there!! A Pilates class to go to and a trip to Waitrose for supplies. My garden has gone mad so the next few days will be spent out there. Lovely to go away but lovely to be home again.

Good morning from a bright W Kent. A good walk yesterday and a lovely meeting with DF who has now moved into her bungalow and is finding sleeping on the ground floor very strange. I think after 45 years in her previous home it is going to take some getting used to. Watched a lot of the D Day programmes. Today off to art group this morning whilst DH entertains the gardener, piles leaves everywhere.

Good morning from a dull but so far dry, Oxfordshire.

We’ve been down to Cornwall to see MzOops ‘new’ house, it’s lovely has an amazing garden, from which you can see the Cathedral, I think she will be happy there when she actually moves in, in a years time, until then she will be based here with us, not yet though!

Alexa says it will rain this morning, I hope not as the grass needs cutting, after no mow May it’s a tad long in places.

I also have a load of admin to do and files to shred.

Good morning from a bright, cool Durham. Work on the outside of the house continues - 4 nice enough chaps, but it’s like living in a goldfish bowl. The new gutters etc go up today. My neighbour wants them to do the same work on her house, so more parking problems, noise and dust. I’ll see if a friend can meet for coffee this morning, otherwise I’ll take myself off somewhere for a few hours.
