I too am very saddened.

Like others, I do not post on this thread but I do read it each morning, it fair brightens me. I don't think BB has been hacked at all, think just a little stir on BB's part. Don't know what BB is doing upsetting probably a lot of readers of this thread, please just leave it alone BB, if you do want your 'own' thread start another. Leave this one alone please. Stop causing upset.

I rarely post on this thread or Soop's kitchen but I always look forward to reading them. It's not a case of anyone 'owning' a thread, it's quite comforting and familiar for some people. Starting another thread with the same title is harmless but I'm not sure what the point is.

It’s simple if you want to start a thread name it the early risers thread. Personally I find Mick rises early enough for men😊

I don't post on this enjoyable thread but I read it everyday and am most grateful to Michael for starting it up and the lovely people who do post.

Good morning Mick and all from cloudy Lancashire, currently 12°C.

It has been a busy week for us, but very productive. Today I will be thinking about what I need in the new shower room, then next week we’ll visit the show room to discuss with the designer. I’m feeling quite excited, I don’t get out much . My digestion is still having intermittent issues, I’m doing a food diary again, I always try to eat sensibly anyway. My balance is having a holiday, I hope it returns soon.

Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside 12C northwest coast.
Art yesterday, nice chats but not thrilled with my work. I think the chatting is a distraction, but enjoyable.

Then to dentist and I have an abscess. I go abroad with the family and after I return, on the 21st I will have a back molar removed. I’m a bit bothered as it’s part of bridgework and it could affect a front tooth! It’s not really painful, just aches now and again, so paracetamol recommended if it does.

Will clean the patio, cook a chicken, DD arrives today and I’m into the city for a meal with close friend. She’s going out with friends too so that’s fine.

Mick’s GM thread has brought joy along with comfort through good times, times of sorrow and the dreaded COVID, and I hope very much that it continues to do so.

I'm another appreciative person of the Good Morning thread, even though I've only posted occasionally. It's gentle, I like the general fabric of posters' lives as they unfold on a day to day basis. I can see it's supportive to those who have health issues, worries and it also encompasses really nice posts about subjects such as holidays, gardening, I'm not much of one myself, but my husband is so I like to see pictures of flowers, garden projects, inspirational. Even better posters' pets, animals have always been a great love of my life and a source of joy.

I really didn't know the history of the thread insomuch as Michael had started it, there would be nothing to suggest to me in what he posts that he's proprietary in that connection just that he's an early riser, he's certainly put Brackley and Bicester on the map for me. As with others he has talked about his health issues, and as such, I can't think that he would want to engage with unnecessary acerbic and combative comments.

What a shame!

Good morning. I hope you all have a lovely Saturday. Only 1 more shift until our holidays.
We are having bacon sandwiches for tea, as we want something plain before we travel. Mr Bear and I have sensitive stomachs at times and it's better to not feel ill when you have an early start the next day. What do you have before travelling in similar circumstances? I don't even like to drink too much the morning of travelling as I don't want us to have to stop too often for a loo or even use the one on the plane.

Lots of give and take, no arguments,no jockeying for the last word or the sharpest retort, no attacking people for posting about little everyday things (even for sometimes posting boring details?) just plenty of generosity and support.

Everyone has received that generosity, so everyone gives it back. You have received it for your posts. Have you thought that it could be your turn to give to Michael the generosity of allowing him the pleasure of starting up the thread each day?

Good morning from currently sunny East Lothian.

We returned yesterday evening, from a lovely trip up the Angus coast to Stonehaven and back by the inland route over the ‘Cairn o’Mount’, where we stopped to add a stone to the cairn and breath in the lovely clear air. I thought of Taichinan as we drove up the coast, and hope she is alright as I don’t think I’ve seen her post recently.

Our DGSs are back from their sailing week off the Devon coast so we are looking forward to hearing about their adventures. I loved that you heard all about Ninja Lego from your DGC, RosesandLilac! With ours it was mainly Harry Potter Lego for a few years, and later, Minecraft, Pokémon and Warhammer. I’d start off feigning interest and end up quite knowledgeable. Isn’t it great to be a grandparent (or aunt/uncle/godparent etc) to growing children? As a parent you’re often too busy just keeping the show on the road!

I hope all the things that need repairing get fixed without too much cost and hassle ( Grammaretto, Georgesgran and Roses). And hope your bank will be more helpful when it receives your letter, GM.

Thanks Elegran for expressing my thoughts. I have "lurked" for many years but don't remember any dissent around the posts. From what I gather from BB's posts is that she has had a major health problem in the past but has recovered very well and leads an active life with a PA and other agencies for help. I don't know if she will now realise that many are not able to live their lives the way they want to but are appreciative of Gransnet to give them a glimpse into other people's lives and part of that is being to hear how other people's lives are panning out. I have never come across a post like this on Gransnet and find it quite upsetting and annoying.

I’m not sure that those posts are from the genuine BB - they seem so out of character. I agree with harrigran.
Anyway, moving on, I imagine it’s going to be heaving today in Barrow-in-Furness when all those bikers arrive to celebrate the life of Dave Myers. I hope the weather stays fair for them.

I'm another who has never posted on this thread as I live a quietly contented life. I do, however, follow it and enjoy reading what others are up to.
I have been reading this thread for many years. I remember some one taking on the opening post only when Mick wasn't well.
I hope there will be no further discord or upset as it could sour what is a lovely, gentle start to each day.
