*To posters who recently said they hardly bothered with their mobile phones ……… perhaps this could be a mind-changer*
It's common sense to carry a mobile phone at all times. It doesn't mean you have to be scrolling on it every 5 minutes.
I recently had a problem with an achy knee. I was staying with my son's family so decided to take the dog for a walk to loosen it up before driving 200 miles home. I left my phone charging thinking nothing of it. About 10 minutes from the house my leg got more painful and collapsed under me. I couldn't put my weight on it at all and had to almost hop back in excruciating pain. Someone offered to lend me a phone to call for help but of course I didn't know their numbers as I store them in my phone! I did make it eventually with a very skittish dog who thought I was trying to kick her as a scuttled along. Having a charged phone with you when out and about is a major safety precaution.
About a week later, after eventually returning home, I realised that my DiL's number is on the dog's tag!! I shall be much more careful about having my phone with me in future.
