What is the weather like where you are?
Here in the NW it is cold and pouring with rain.
We have had a very few warm, almost hot, days but not in June it is like early spring or Autumn.
My jumpers, ready washed to put away are back in use.
I haven’t changed to my summer duvet and feel I never will this year.
I am very loathe to put the CH on but I hate feeling so miserable.
Global warming?
It doesn’t seem to be happening here.

I’m that close to putting it on, but it’s a bit late now, electric blanket will be on later, a year ago today it was 25, I was in shorts.
S Hampshire.

When I got married over 50 years ago it was cold, wet and rainy, as it had been most of the year. The date was 21 July!

Had some welcome rain yesterday in Somerset and it is sunny but cold today. Usually have a lunch in the garden on my birthday at the end of this month but am wondering about a hot roast indoors this year. Plus a steamed pud!

I came back from a week in Madeira yesterday and I could not believe how cold it was at Stanstead Airport! Not only was it pouring with rain, it was just 12 degrees, such a shock to the system and when I got home first thing I did was put the heating on, everywhere felt so cold and damp! Not much better this morning but at least it’s not raining - yet! Flaming June!!!???

I have gone back to wearing a vest and warm fleece most days here in the Wye Valley.
This thread is great for knowing whereabouts in the country you all live!

I’ve changed our bed this morning (9degrees and damp) and am considering keeping the flannelette bedding for another week …

I usually swap to Egyptian cotton mid April or beginning of May but everything is out of sync this year!

I put my winter bed spread over my summer duvet last night

Central Europe, cool for the time of year.

If it makes you feel better - we’re near Barcelona for a beach holiday- it’s raining, windy and chilly! If we’re lucky might get two days of sun at end of week. Should have stayed at home.

Yup, same here, across the pond. We’ve actually had FROST this late too, not every year but we say summer hasn’t really arrived till mid-June, then it seems we’re right into the air conditioning.

Washed my fleecey blankets to put away, back on the sofa, plus made hot water bottles each night for the last few nights- no heating on but dryer has been on.. BBC weather app is always wrong 😩

Still chilly here in N Surrey. I had my covid jab this afternoon so expect to be either very warm or very chilly tonight. Torrential rainstorm at about 2.00 today and it's sunny now. But heating on for an hour to warm the house up. Could be October.

Not a fan of hot sunshine or the cold. So this neither here nor there weather is suiting me well. Can do outdoor activities without expiring. But house is fine without heating. Sorry to the sun-lovers, but I’m loving this summer!

GrannyIvy Mon 10-Jun-24 18:59:28

So cold in East Anglia today. Torrential rain on and off all day and body warmer is back on again.

Mojack26 Mon 10-Jun-24 18:43:17

Same here in Central Scotland. Odd warm day a few verging on hot but mostly cold, windy, rainy! 10deg here today!! Heating on

West Dorset, very similar to your weather today in South Wales TanaMa, nice when the sun shines, but a very cold northerly for days now.

South of Denmark had a fortnight of gloriously hot weather in May, so I painted outdoor window frames and the founds of our house.

Turned the new page of the calendar on June 1st and it has poured and got steadily colder. I have three windows still to paint and not a chance of doing so.

Warmest temperature at midday 15 degrees centigrade, rain and no prospect of better weather.

So yes, my central heating is back on too. And the cat has moved back into my bed at nights, under the covers!

I’m near Hadrians wall and it’s chilly with strong wind and heavy downpours. I’ve been sewing and reading this afternoon and lit my stove at about 4pm. It’s lovely 😄

Ugh, we are no better here in NW British Columbia... the forecasted high is 13 Celsius for the next week, with drizzle.

We did have 2 sunny days last week, so all indoors chores are dropped and outside neglected gardens are on the chore list.

I came back from 23deg in the S of France on Tuesday, and here in NE Scotland, was caught in a very heavy shower of hailstones on Wednesday. Miserable.

AGAA4 Mon 10-Jun-24 16:23:46

I've had the heating on for a short time most days recently. I hate being cold. It's grey and windy here in N. Wales this afternoon.

RosemaryAnne Mon 10-Jun-24 16:06:45

Extremely windy and wet here this morning. Sunny now but it's not very warm. In just over a week the days start to get shorter too. What's happened to Summer?

2oaktrees Mon 10-Jun-24 15:50:38

A cold wind today in Poole but we ate a pub lunch in the garden with our coats on but it seems to me if we have a hot May and June then July and August the opposite.

Anneeba Mon 10-Jun-24 15:44:31

N Herts here and we've just had hailstones bouncing 4" high off the lawn. Now it's finished the starlings and sparrows are swarming over the garden pulling out all the worms. I wish they'd concentrate more on all the wretched slugs that have decimated my vegetables.

Gingster Mon 10-Jun-24 15:36:27

Very cold here in Essex. I walked the dog and I needed a hat, gloves and a warm coat. Couldn’t wait to get back home. 🥶

It’s sunny and warm now from inside the conservatory.
