Today: work until 4pm, then weights workout, dinner, must do ironing. That's bout it for me today... boring!

Going swimming this morning, then meeting a friend for lunch at a nearby NT place. Weather looks reasonable.

I have said my hello on the GM thread, that one is like being on a walk, saying hello to a friend or stranger, which I do, saying a few words and then carrying on with whatever fills the day.

Making a list of what I actually do in a day would be completely boring and of no interest to anyone else

Off to.play a board game. I meet up with several others at a local hotel and we play for 2 hours. We purchase coffees so don't get charged for using the space and of course it makes the bar look busy😊
Then I have an appointment at the hairdresser to have my long hair cut short🙈 feeling nervous about that but know I need a change of style as hair getting thinner due to age and certain medications. Fingers crossed I like it!!!

Gym, then quick trip to M&S to collect order, expecting to be disappointed as always think stuff is going to look as gorgeous on me as on the models, ah well, live in hope, dog walk in the woods and then my lovely daughter and family coming to dinner, my younger gd is excited about going to uni in September so lots to chat about, she got her nans feisty gene so will be absolutely fine 😀

It's grey here this morning in south Devon. Rain is expected soon. I think I'll just be doing my weekly shopping. It's so busy on Friday and Saturday, so today is best.

Friends coming for coffee and cake any minute. This afternoon as to be cleaning out the fridge time but I'm postponing that.

Baggs Thu 13-Jun-24 12:19:29

Having eaten Guinness chocolate cake and cold custard for my second breakfast (I'm definitely a hobbit in that respect!), slept for two hours, then eaten a leftover half of margarita pizza for lunch I'm considering tackling a sock heel and working on my current watercolour painting this afternoon.

Great food choices Baggs 😀. Tasty!

Urmstongran Thu 13-Jun-24 12:40:35

I’ve just eaten two warm sausage rolls.
And a packet of hula hoops.

Grannmarie Thu 13-Jun-24 12:46:34

I've just seen my GP who has sent me to our local hospital to have my troublesome knee x rayed. So I'm presently waiting at Radiology, scrolling through GN to pass the time.
Enjoy your day, whatever you are up to.

Walked the dog, and hoovered downstairs. Later I’m going to pick DGD up from school as it’s another heavy bag day and take her shopping on the way home.

Spent the morning on the group allotment and this afternoon I’ll be making an arrangement of foliage from the allotment for a memorial event this evening for one of our gang who sadly died last month. It’s been quite a challenge collecting enough ‘stuff’ to make a display that does not include garden flowers so I deliberately allowed some plants to bolt or set seed. Herbs of course are allowed!

I’m a glutton for punishment! 😂

That made me chuckle, pascal30!

DH and I have just finished a speedy hedge cut in case it rains again.

This afternoon I'm going to make some shortbread.

AreWeThereYet Thu 13-Jun-24 14:36:59

Just had solar panels installed on the roof and the scaffolding hasn't been removed yet so I've just been up to clean out the back gutters. Very handy, at least we don't have to get the gutter cleaners to do it now grin

This afternoon I'm making an orange cake with ground almonds.

Baggs Thu 13-Jun-24 16:54:48

🤣

Baggs Thu 13-Jun-24 16:55:55

That was in reply to pascal’s assessment of my sock heels

Mollygo Fri 14-Jun-24 11:12:36

Nothing exciting today, just shopping, promenading the pooch and another jigsaw. I may get a phone call from DGS asking if we’ve any jobs we’d like doing, so I’m preparing a list.

RosesandLilac Fri 14-Jun-24 11:14:00

So far today I have cleaned the house from top to bottom, changed the bed, done two loads washing and two or three more to go because I will do the dog’s blankets and throws. I will walk her later.
Ham, egg and chips for dinner, I need to make a cake sometime too.
The new summerhouse is being constructed 👏👏👏👏 despite the rain, bless the carpenter. He’s truly a star.

Rainy day here in Angus so no gardening. I've fed myself, the cat and the garden birds.
Changed the light bulbs on the cooker hood and ordered cooker hood filters - loooong overdue. This took a lot longer than i thought it would due to me being ultra sure i was getting the right thing.
Hoping to finish a patchwork quilt top today and might paint the last 2 slate number signs for our community garden.

I am going to lie and fry in the sun.

As you may guess, I'm not in the UK.

I'm on a rally in Looe the sun's shining but it's not particularly warm, I'm sitting outside wrapped up enjoying the sea view and a cup of tea.

I love Looe Nicenanny and have some wonderful memories of happy times there.

And me! My mother's family used to live there so I was in Looe a lot as a child and later on I took my own children to stay there I still miss it!

Quick dash to the shops and to collect local paper. Now reading through property pages, thinking of moving closer to city centre in near future. This afternoon it's cleaning, rainy day otherwise I'd be gardening.
