I plan to start my refurbishment of a bird table which someone threw out and which needs some tlc I plan to paint it blue. Also swimming later, but a bit of tiidying up first. The joys of retirement!

Just arrived home after a 2 hour drive in the rain on the M6. Fortunately DH was driving but it was very hairy at times. We'd stayed over for a night in the Lakes sorting out finances and our wills. My brain is still swimming with jargon, legal terms and numbers, so I'm doing nothing more today than a bit of basic sewing, to calm down and a Chinese meal out tonight.

Visit Malvern Spring Show. Show and hoping for good weather!

Baked a mince beef and potato pie, large to divide into portions for the freezer. Sausage rolls with left over pastry. Emptied waterbutt into neighbour's empty wheelie binsmile, relocated waterbutt and emptied neighbour's wheelie bin back into waterbutt. Put house plants outside to be watered by the rain. Just enjoyed a slice of mince beef and potato pie for lunch. Going back out into garden to pick strawberries. Then I will probably get involved in weeding or anything else that distracts me in the garden. It's a good day.

Final visit of the week at hospital. Every day. Now having light lunch out then will do some jobs in the garden

Had my nails done at a salon, then collected a dress I'd ordered from Next and a bra from M&S. Picked up my prescription from Asda, handed in BP readings at the doctor's. Just got in, and now there's a thunderstorm.

I’ve been moving some polyanthus from a patio pot in the front to less conspicuous quarters in the back garden, cleaned the fridge. Virtue has gone out of me.

Been to a craft group this morning, making a wallet. Have done all my ironing and about to do a bit of knitting, then will start my book. Our son coming for dinner, so also going to make some stuffed jacket potatoes to go with fresh home made chicken Kiev.

Today I'm coughing 🤒 it's driving me mad...

Amandajs66 Fri 14-Jun-24 17:40:32

Good evening everyone.
I was working this morning, had a lovely walk with a neighbour this afternoon and am now off to a sound Bath meditation session. First time so am feeling quite excited. xx

LucyAnna2 Sat 15-Jun-24 07:47:14

That sounds lovely, Amandajs66. We went to some sound bath sessions in Thailand a few years ago - it was amazing.
Hoping to paint our garden shed today, weather permitting. Then a meal out tonight with GD twins (13).

Good morning. DD and DSiL are taking me out to lunch today and then to the Mayflower in Southampton to see Wicked! DGD’s choice. She’ll be joining us there.

It’s pouring with rain at the moment and then the rest of the day is forecasted to be windy. ☔️💨

Today is my birthday so instead of going into the countryside for lunch, as it’s going to rain we are going into town to buy walking shoes! This evening a cheese fondue with a very nice wine.

I’m watching the trooping of the colour at home while eating my delicious home made raspberry jam on a scone with cream and a cup of tea

Marydoll Sat 15-Jun-24 08:18:24

It looks delicious, Bonny!.

Macadia Sat 15-Jun-24 08:30:07

Today, I will be working on a colorful flower garden (if there is no rain), walking dogs to the beach for some play (even if it's raining), visiting with my DS in the afternoon and this evening, making a chicken and yam curry for everyone. Then I will be reading until nightfall.

Macadia Sat 15-Jun-24 08:40:07

Happy Birthday, Dragonfly46 🎂

I hope your cough gets better today, Lizzypopbottle. Time to bundle up, open windows and let some fresh air through?

Marydoll Sat 15-Jun-24 08:49:28

Happy birthday, Dragonfly.

Redhead56 Sat 15-Jun-24 08:50:56

Weeding veg patch first thing it’s everyday lately! Will video Trooping of the Colour to watch later. Going into the city centre which isn’t something we do often. A few members of my family have been working on The Taylor Town Trail in collaboration with other artists. So we will be finally getting to see the results of hard work and long hours.

That looks yummy! Might make some strawberry jam tomorrow as our strawberries on the allotment are doing really well just now.

Today I am continuing the task of rabbit proofing my garden with lengths of mesh. So far it is proving to be impossible. Wish me luck.

Beauregard Sat 15-Jun-24 09:18:05

Planting out my remaining 15 pumpkins and gourds, hopefully before the rain arrives late morning.

Happy birthday Dragonfly 💐

Pantglas2 Sat 15-Jun-24 09:32:39

Well it’s a good job I’m an early riser because the weather has changed from sunshine for my walk at 6.30 to torrential rain now!

Lovely raspberry jam Bonnybanko - always my favourite because it’s the easiest to make isn’t it …no hulling, topping and tailing, de stoning etc

Happy birthday Dragonfly 🥂

I shall watch Trooping of the Colour and ⚽️ later but a quiet day otherwise - suits me sometimes!

Cabbie21 Sat 15-Jun-24 09:59:10

Chores this morning. This afternoon my grandson is coming to help with some jobs I can’t manage. I hope he turns up as he didn’t go home night.

Sorting our jumbled mass of (1) light bulbs and (2) batteries onto more easily accessible shelves created for the purpose by chucking out loads of junk. Feel pleased with myself.

Nannyof4mummyof2 Sat 15-Jun-24 10:27:07

Ready and waiting to go and have my makeup trial as mother of the bride very 😊
