I have just come in from my walk and found that someone had upset Urms. Please don't take it to heart. It will have been a troubled, unhappy soul who would do that.
Yia my grandson is dyslexic so I'm always aware of that when I read posts. I would hate to think anyone was unkind to him because of the way he writes.
Please stay Urms and Yia.

That cannot be right Urms. I have never seen a post from you, especially in here, that is not kind and very thoughtful.
I am shocked too that HQ would deem it necessary to delete it.
Your posts are very uplifting especially considering what you and your family are going through.

I've just sat down on the' Granny bench' in Primark- I've got DGD and Grandpup for an overnight- and I'm so sorry to see that YiaYia and Urms have both been upset by unkindness. I didn't see the posts as I've been busy, the wee pup is more work than DGD! It was her first sleepover and she took ages to settlelast night!
Please stay with us, lovely ladies, you are both highly valued members of our kitchen family. 💐💐

I didn’t see Urm’s post nor even the one of yias* that was deleted but I think that sometimes GNHQ moderators jump in with both feet without even checking first.
I hope you both feel able to rise above them and stay with us.

Want to share my support for Urms hope you keep posting your kind and supportive threads..

I’ve just written and lost a long post about the tiny restaurant that we had lunch at today. The regulars who come almost every day now recognise us enough to include us in the rounds of “Bom Dias”and “Boa Tardes” as we enter and we’re also included in the the gentle smiles at the elderly chap who talks to himself in a loud voice.
I so wish that I understood more of the language and also more of people’s individual stories.

DH who used to enjoy people watching with me seems to have lost enjoyment of the art.

We have just come back from Old Leigh with our three youngest AC, two DiLs and four of our GC.

The sun was shining we had a table outside on the pubs terrace, overlooking the sea (ok the tide was out, but it was there in the distance 🤣). Drinks and picky bits (I drove as did one DiL, the other family walked)

A very windy day here in the South, we had a lovely lunch for MrJ at my daughters, he’s in the pub with a friend now.
Grandson 11, was in to eat, then off out with his friends to play football, Imogen is now entering her last week at school, prom on the 5th, boy they grow up quickly.

It’s been a lovely sunny day here but very cold. I haven’t done much. I had a lovely sleep and feel much better, MrB has been feeding me soft toast, soup and yogurt and I have been careful not to open my mouth too wide or chew too enthusiastically!

Hello kitchen people.

I’m so sorry that Urms doesn’t feel able to return yet.

Church this morning. Just 14 of us including the organist. The vicar was unwell so the churchwarden read out the service for Morning Prayer.

We had a swarm of bees in the garden this afternoon. Very exciting. OH has a bait hive in the garden in case there are swarms. He will take them to where his bee hives are in a couple of days.

I will not be watching football tonight. OH will watch it with headphones and I’ll catch up with the sewing Bee on my iPad - with headphones.

I cooked a Yotam Ottelengi recipe for dinner - shoulder of lamb in a wonderful paste. It had so many ingredients I had to go to the shop. I made strawberry and raspberry crumble for pudding, with lashings of cream.

It’s been non stop rain here all day and cold too. We’re just in from watching DGD in her dance show, she did so well even though she’d missed quite a few rehearsals, she really enjoyed it and had a gorgeous smile all the way through!
You’re so right Jax they grow up far too quickly

We got back home tonight just in time for DH to watch the football on TV, oh dear! aren't the next 3 weeks looking like fun....!!
We'd been to our DD's to spend a couple of days, with the family in Cambridge, we were lucky to be joined by our DS & his family, ( so 4 out of our 5 DGC together).
Also lucky that the weather was good for this afternoon after the constant rain.

I'm sorry to hear of upsets for YiaYia & Urmstongran, I send my support for you both. x

Just up to bed now after watching England in their first match.
They will have to up their game considerably to progress to the next round ( says this expert).
My H loved his football and would have been glued to the television for the next three weeks.
My GD ,her friend and her friend’s 6 week old baby have been out for a meal at a pub new to me.
Built over 300 years ago, thankfully modernised, it was really nice.
We all had a roast dinner , I always feel I could have done better, but I didn’t have to cook it or clear up afterwards so all to the good.
Baby was well behaved and slept through the meal.
Back to normal now with days at home.
