Made me laugh too.

We now seem to be light years away from the medicated, tracing paper of years ago. When I started nurse training, the loo rolls all had "Property of the NHS" stamped on each sheet. We used to joke about having to return the used sheets.

I am sure your grandchildren will find it very funny. Mine would.

I remember when first started school in 1961 they had izal toilet paper yet I can’t remember ever having that at home, must have done though

We were never allowed coloured toilet paper when we were young and it first appeared as my mother said it would make us sore.
We had relatives with a lavatory down a path in the garden. The toilet paper there was newspaper squares on a string, hanging from a nail.

Made me smile too. We had Izal at school, never ever at home or at my grandparents either. We had Andrex I think!

Didn’t make me smile, sorry, think it looks revolting.
Rubysong my Nan had the squares of newspaper cut out neatly and hanging on a nail in the outside loo as well.
School had hard medicated stuff on a roll, yuk.
If there was one improvement since then, soft loo rolls would win the trophy.

Whatever next? Poo decorations for your bathroom?

Will def. buy some for the Gdcs if and when I see it!

PS, I don’t think soft loo paper was even available when I was a young child. It was Izal or Bronco - I can still almost smell that distinctive ‘aroma’!

Both my Grandmas had newspaper squares on string in the outside toilets . One had The Times, the other the Western Mail.

We had to have Izal because both my auntie and my stepsister worked at the Chapeltown factory, near Sheffield, and we got it cheap through them.

My aunt had squares of the bread paper in her outside toilet. Very fancy as her neighbours had newspaper.

My mum was fixated on soft toilet paper - so I was lucky at home if not at school!

I remember having Andrex in pink to match the bathroom in a former house and I'm fairly sure blue and green were also available. At Christmas, toilet rolls with seasonal motifs were sold in M&S and probably other stores.

I want those - my GC would absolutely love it 🤣🤣

The dyes in colored toilet paper can cause/trigger allergic reactions and can cause irritation apparently.

A doctor friend told me not to buy it (years ago) with susceptible people in the house - children, the elderly and people with existing problems such as urinary infections, recent childbirth, haemorrhoids or fissures.

I never checked it out but do know some dyes aren't good...

I might just buy that poo roll to encourage my toddler granddaughter to give up her nappies. She has a good sense of humour.

I only have white. Know it’s amusing to the grandchildren though, dare say if I had little ones I would buy a packet.

I have never seen coloured patterned toilet paper, I must keep my eye out as my grandchildren will love it.

My first recollection of toilet paper during and after the war years was me cutting newspapers into squares and threading them onto a piece of string and hanging it on a nail in the outside toilet. Then came the slippery shiny Izal, I think I preferred the newspaper toilet paper to Izal.

We had "Bronco", just like tracing paper. Horrible stuff on the bottom - but us girls had wonderful times making those cutout snowflake things and using it to trace stuff!
