Good Morning Everyone,
A grey sky but clear and dry here in brackley at the moment.
My usual routine today plus doing things around my flat ,my system seems to vary with good or bad days but I try and keep myself occupied with things .
Hopefully meet up with some i know have a relaxing chat and maybe have a beer as well to see if a half pint helps .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from a damp corner of La Sarthe after overnight storms, including thunder briefly.

DH’s blood test results were emailed to him within an hour of the samples being taken. All the various elements appear to be within normal range but it’s likely that the urologist will still require a consultation. This is following surgery for an enlarged prostate nine years ago.

An unexpected social time occurred yesterday evening when we helped a local friend with transport from the railway station for a family of five Australian friends arriving for a couple of days. Eleven of us enjoyed a glass of wine around a very large table in our friend's kitchen whilst chatting about our respective lives. Lovely, easy company.

Thinking of those with health issues, especially your daughter Oopsadaisy, also Mick. I wish you all a happy, hump day. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. We have a blue sky day in South Yorkshire and it’s going to be warm. Yesterday it was dry enough for me to walk to school and back but in the evening we had another horrendous rain storm though the forecast thunder didn’t materialise. Writers group at the library this afternoon, and a bit of shopping while I’m out.
Have the best day you can folks.

Good morning from an overcast Bristol. It still is fairly chilly.

My neighbour’s visit to the hospital was amazing. We had taken a half hour taxi ride there, arriving about 30 early. Once the clinic was located, we had barely sat down when she was summoned. I had taken the precautions of bringing a big book, a sudoku, some biscuits, etc.,for a long wait. To my amazement, the CT Scan was done and she was back in little over 20 minutes! Taxi home. Incredible!!!

Later in the morning, while I was watching an online WI course, DS texted, asking if he could come over in the afternoon. He took me to Tesco and stayed for dinner. I made all the things he likes - salmon steak, courgettes, leeks - DD can’t eat alliums, they are vegetarians….

Today, I’ve got a strawberry tea with the local ladies’ guild. Should be nice. I’ll probably make more marmalade (from a tin) and get on with that quilt, which is coming on nicely.

I’m sad that people are having problems, and shall keep them in my thoughts. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from s somerset, good sunny weather is expected here all day

I am in the full moon wakeful period and I could not get to sleep last night so I got up, dragged some cooler bedding out of the airing cupboard and re-made my bed and while at it I started on a spare bedroom as that will be needed soon. Upshot is that my airing cupboard is an utter mess and so is my landing and I will be tired today

I had intended to get some positive calming energy from chalice well at Glastonbury but will give that a miss until well after the solstice, it will be heaving with visitors until after the festival. It is also full moon on 21st

The house is airing right now and I will, at least, need to tackle the landing and airing cupboard today

Have a good day

karmalady Wed 19-Jun-24 06:06:26

I meant to add that I am going to have a GN break for a while

Bellasnana Wed 19-Jun-24 06:23:23

Good morning from Malta where we expect another very hot day.

Yesterday was a difficult day as I felt really unwell after a night of tummy troubles. However, I somehow dragged myself to look after the boys. One of them had speech therapy and today he has a hearing test so DD3 takes him for his appointments and goes into school late.

I was in bed by 8 o’clock last night and am feeling more human today, thank goodness.

I haven’t caught up with yesterday’s posts.

Wishing you all as good a day as possible.☀️

glammagran Wed 19-Jun-24 06:27:30

Good morning all.

Sounds like your sleepover with your GS’s went pretty well Grandmabatty. DGD was a delight on Monday. DGS, yesterday not so much. He was tired all day but apart from 15 minutes in the car this morning we’d been instructed not to let him sleep. He was really grumpy by the time he was dropped off home at 5:30pm. I won’t fib, I’m really missing the 90 minutes of recovery time at around 1pm while he slept.

We need to finish off packing for our holiday to Gran Canaria on Thursday. We are staying near Meloneras where large sharks have been seen close to the shore and the beach was closed at the weekend. The last holiday, a river cruise earlier this month was cancelled 18 hours before we were due to travel. What is causing anxiety is finding someone who can water our garden. Both our neighbours are away on holiday themselves which hasn’t ever happened before. Even DD2 is away with the family for 5 days. The temps are set to climb quite high.

Your poor daughter Oops. I hope she is feeling much better asap. Commiserations to other poorlies. Hope you all have a good day and get outside in the better weather.

kittylester Wed 19-Jun-24 06:35:12

Good morning all from a cloudy North Leicestershire.

Our cleaners are due at 8.45 so it's an early start. DH is going to the gym and I am aiming to bake. I have a new recipe for gf bread that was lovely the first time I made it.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Oopsadaisy1 Wed 19-Jun-24 06:42:38

Good morning Mick and everyone, from a dull Oxfordshire, but it’s early so hopefully it will be sunny later. Sorry to hear you are still having bad days Mick.

MissOops had a better day yesterday, only sick a couple of times in the morning and she managed to keep small amounts of food down in the afternoon - so far it’s still down there!
More importantly she is able to have some fluids, not enough really but she has anti nausea meds and I hope they start to be more effective the more she has in her system. She is also taking small pieces of her usual Meds , let’s hope they start to make a difference soon, she can’t take whole tablets yet as her stomach rejects them.
What a pickle! Meanwhile I stay close and keep an eye on her, the dog came back last night, she will help to cheer her up.

Sorry I wasn’t able to get back and read all of your goings on, it was a busy day.

Karmalady you jogged my memory about the Solstice and Glastonbury, MzOops is going there to give a talk, not sure what that’s all about but she’s gone off with her tent, let’s hope it stays fine down there, I wondered why she was going down before the festival. My head is like a sieve at the moment apparently ‘ I was told’. Hey ho.

MrOops has an appointment later in the week, for some tests in Bicester of all places, Nephew will have to come and sit with MissOops, that will be fun………..

I’ll try to get back to read your posts later, sorry if I’m missing important birthdays or other news.

Hope everyone has a good day, hugs for those who are unwell or stressed.

Mizuna Wed 19-Jun-24 06:53:26

Sorry, can't join in, phone screen triggering migraines. Back if/when it stops.

GrannyGravy13 Wed 19-Jun-24 07:00:18

Morning all, blue sky and hopefully a nice warm day here in S E Essex.

The 9yr old was very happy as his house won the sports day cup 🏆

Gym this morning and this afternoon finishing the holiday ironing mountain.

Have a good day everyone 🙋‍♀️

brook2704 Wed 19-Jun-24 07:02:41

Good morning everyone from Inverness, at last it’s stopped raining and we’ve got some blue sky 😎
Hoping the migraine eases soon Mizuna
Good to hear Miss Oops seems a bit better Oops
Yesterdays check up at the eye clinic went ok, the eye drops they put in though took ages to wear off so I couldn’t do much for most of the day. A good excuse to sit listening to my audio book! Today I’m really looking forward to meeting up with the Glesca Grans, it’s a longish day for me but definitely worth it
Have a lovely holiday glammagran and safe travels!
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

RosesandLilac Wed 19-Jun-24 07:03:56

Good morning, a cloudy morning here in south Glos, another dry day ahead.
Yesterday I finished my chores by 10am, so finished knitting sock 1 and started sock 2. Had a nice chat and cup of tea with a friend in the afternoon and loved sitting outside in the sun for a couple of hours.
Hoping I will be enjoying the sunshine today too, dog walking first.
Have a lovely day 🌹

Blossoming Wed 19-Jun-24 07:12:15

Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny Lancashire where it is currently 11°C.

We are promised better temperatures today, perhaps as high as 20°. I do hope so, I am feeling a little better this morning and some warmth would be most welcome. Still on a soft diet for a while but pain has lessened.

Happy Wednesday, whatever you’re doing, hope any poorlies are on the mend 🌻

baubles Wed 19-Jun-24 07:23:43

Good morning from South Lanarkshire where I believe we’re promised a dry, warm day.

Yesterday I had a lovely relaxing pedicure, my toenails are now such a bright shade of coral that my feet could light my way home in the dark.

Daft dug had a session with her groomer so we’re both ready for our holiday.

Looking forward to seeing you and Marydoll later Brook. 👋

Have the best day possible everyone.

Gingster Wed 19-Jun-24 07:35:18

Good morning all and it’s sunny here in Essex.

Today Dh will go fishing and I will go to church and then walk up to town and wander around the market . I’ll meet my friend for a coffee and chat.

I hope MissOops continues to improve and Mizunas migraine eases soon.

Have a lovely catch-up Glesca Grans.

Take care all and I hope your days are good ones. 🌸

monk08 Wed 19-Jun-24 07:38:09

Good morning all from an overcast Black country, I think that's the forecast for most of the day.
Local shop then back home for housework.
Good to hear Miss Oops sounds a little better.
Mizuna hope your migraine eases soon.
Glesca Grans enjoy your meet up.
Have a lovely day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️

Grandmabatty Wed 19-Jun-24 07:41:43

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 11° and dry. Ash that sounds like a lovely, spontaneous gathering. Brook and baubles I hope to see you later.
Yesterday dgs2 was on very good form. We laughed all day. I was very tired after I dropped off both boys but had to tidy the entire house which was a riot. A den in my bedroom, bath toys littering the bathroom, cot moved out of the dining room -dgs2s temporary bedroom - you get the picture! The only room I didn't tackle last night, apart from removing plastic food from my oven, was the kitchen. So that's a job for this morning.
Later, I hope to meet up with the Glasgow Grans. It's always a lovely get together. Have a good day all.

hollysteers Wed 19-Jun-24 07:44:15

Good morning Mick and all from a dull northwest coast 12C.
Arrived home last night from Ibiza after a good flight. I managed a nice bit of shopping in Santa Eulalia before leaving, the clothes are so stylish. I carried on reading a life of Samuel Pepys on the plane and so sorry to read he has just died!😢 Excellent biography.

It’s feels so cold here! I strained my back throwing myself into a taxi whilst away and it’s still painful. I must also see a doc about my severe nightly cramps, it’s too much and a change of statins might help.

All on the medical side, a letter awaited me re my proposed hernia op. No date, but rather a discussion of pros and cons. Full of medical jargon, I need to give it some thought.

DGD leaves today and DD tomorrow and I will tiptoe round my bulging suitcase…

Hope your health settles Mick, thoughts to Mizuna and her migraines, enjoy your break karmalady and thoughts to all with troubles 🌺

BlueSapphire Wed 19-Jun-24 07:46:16

Good morning everyone from a cloudy but dry Northampton, set to remain so all day. I may get the back grass cut, as rain is forecast tomorrow.

Had a good walk yesterday afternoon with my walking group, but it was fun getting there! I have to get a bus to the starting point and the bus driver kept getting lost, went the wrong way a couple of times, so I ended.up standing at the front directing him - poor man had only done the route once before and it is quite complicated.

On the way home called in at the paper shop and paid my bill. Then sat in the summerhouse for a while and finished my book.

A few jobs to do this morning, then I may go to the well-being cafe after lunch; will bus there and walk home as it is all downhill!

I have a fancy for kedgeree for dinner tonight, which I shall look forward to.

Have a good day everyone.

Grandmabatty Wed 19-Jun-24 07:46:40

Karma I meant to say that you will be missed. I love to hear about what you get up to, it sounds so interesting.

Liberty Wed 19-Jun-24 07:47:06

A quick visit this sunny morning from Suffolk which I hope will be a good one for all. Before my keep fit class I’m following DH to the garage where his car is booked in for a short service and MOT. I’ll drop him home before going off to my class.

He could have a courtesy car but it seems a waste taking one for a short journey of 4 miles. I can easily take him to collect his any time later.

Marydoll Wed 19-Jun-24 07:52:36

Good morning all its 11°C here in Glasgow.

I am glad to hear Miss Oops is feeling some improvement. I hope she can get back to her usual meds routine ASAP. It is worrying when nausea impacts on our medication regime.

Yesterday I planned a quiet day, in preparation for the Glesca Grannies meet up. As usual that didn't happen.
I went down to do an inventory of the church candles, having forgotten Dollie's school would be there for their end of term Mass.
I got such a warm welcome and hugs from some of the staff. There was some rivalry between my own school and this one, but I was always in and out of it in my various roles and the staff treated me as one of their own.
Recently one teacher introduced me to her daughter as an honorary member of their staff. 😊
The bonus was that I saw my wee Dollie.💕

Later I was in Sainsbury's when the Ebay Queen messaged to ask if I wanted to pop in for a coffee with our other friend. That was my afternoon of rest scuppered!
On checking my phone later, I saw a message, accompanied by a video, from DS, which said: I hope you have your running shoes on for Thursday.. Babydoll is walking! 🎈🎉😍

I was delighted to I snap up a sale dress in Sainburys with a further 25% off. It does nothing for me, I look like Neil Gwynne! 🤣 Does anyone know where I can get a liberty bodice?

I'm off to plan my journey to the meet up. I need to work out how to avoid the steep hill and many steps at the Concert Hall. I have a plan, which may include a lift to the station, a train and then the Subway, interspersed with frequent rests.
Grannie on tour! I love an adventure.
DD is meeting me after work, the plan is to go for a Chinese meal , followed by a cocktail in Grand Central, if I feel OK.
That may not happen, but hope springs eternal.

I wish you all the best of days and keeping those, who are struggling in my prayers.

Pittcity Wed 19-Jun-24 07:52:47

Good morning from sunny Colchester. I'm putting a dress on for our Wednesday coffee meetup as it's dry and warm today.
A pile of ironing to tame later and starting to pack as we're going away on Friday.
Love to all 🦩 x
