Good Morning from a sunny Co Armagh, I’ll have to do a bit of work with the watering can!
Glad the knit and natter was enjoyable Purplepixie
Haste ye back Karma
Enjoy the day all

Purplepixie Wed 19-Jun-24 11:37:28

Good morning from a sunny and dry East Midlands. I joined a knit and natter group yesterday and had a lovely afternoon. It lifted my spirits.

hollysteers Wed 19-Jun-24 10:07:27

RosiesMaw yes, Claire Tomalin! Such a good writer, I will certainly look out for other biographies by her👍

GrannySomerset Wed 19-Jun-24 09:05:32

I will miss hearing from Karma too, always distinctive and interesting though makes me ashamed of my own limited activity. Back soon, I hope. Cloudy morning but remaining dry I think so worth a bit of weeding before singing this afternoon.

Two lovely phone calls yesterday evening - one from my neighbour to report that her coffee morning had raised almost £400 for the hospice, the other from DGD1 to say that her end of second year results put her in range of a first class degree if she maintains her effort. Very encouraging and am so pleased for her.

Good morning Mick and All. It's a chilly grey start again on the Angus coast - although as usual at 4.30 (at my early loo call) the sun was shining brightly in a blue sky! - but it's beginning cheer up a bit now 🤞☀️
Sorry you're still struggling with your health Mick, that's miserable for you. Hope that half pint does the trick
You certainly have your hands full one way or another Oops but pleased to hear Miss Oops is improving slowly.
I hope that migraine lifts soon Mizuna. Keep yourself fit for your long-awaited op.
I shall miss your posts karmalady but enjoy the rest (and the visitor in your spare room) and come back soon.
I'm off to Perth shortly to have lunch with DGD3 and boyfriend. I shall look like the Michelin man as I don many layers for every weather eventuality! But it will be so lovely to see them and to catch up with all their news. They've each done well in their respective unis' exams and are working hard to save up for their holiday in Gran Canaria in August with DD, New Man and all the Teens. Boyfriend gets on particularly well with two of the boys so it really is one big happy family.
Enjoy your day everyone - especially the glesca grans.

Good morning from Durham. Dry so far, but that’s about it.
I’ve overslept, a combination of a very late night, no dog and no builders.
I’ve a mountain of ironing (DD2’s) to finish, which I’ll take back to her and bring Little Dog here for a couple of days. Her DH has a mystery illness, DGS2 has gone in for extra days at Nursery, so having the dog out of the equation should help too,
I’ll miss Karma posts which are always interesting and upbeat.
I hope those loved ones in the sick bay are improving.
Best wishes to all. X

Morning from high cloud, 14 in S Hants. I’m taking a friend to the station at 9, later this morning collecting Imogen from her last GCSE and last day at school.
Hair trim this afternoon, my fringe needs it.
Enjoy your break karmalady

Good morning from a dul & cool Sefton. It is forecast to get brighter & warmer later. We'll see. 🤞A pleasant day yesterday meeting our Llandudno friends for lunch at a halfway point. The pub/restaurant we always use is situated in rolling Welsh countryside but it wasn't warm enough to sit outside & enjoy the lovely views. Today is our busy day. Zoom exercise class first thing, then off to a nearby town for Pilates, a quick lunch, draw breath then off across the city to pick up DGD2 from nursery & keep her occupied until mum & dad finish work.
Have a great meet up Glesca Grannies. How lovely that so many of you manage to meet up on such a regular basis.

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.

I don’t feel the full picnic this morning. I think I ate something off yesterday! We are supposed to be going for a monthly U3A lunch later. I’ll see how I feel.

It is WI tonight. A florist will demonstrate some flower arranging. Not quite my thing. I’m a pop the flowers straight in a vase sort of person! It will be good to see all the ladies though.

Have a good day, especially those of you with problems.

harrigran Wed 19-Jun-24 08:10:08

Good morning from a dry and bright NE. Can't be that warm though as the heating is on.
Sister and BIL are coming today and will take me shopping.

Have a good day.

RosiesMaw Wed 19-Jun-24 08:07:51

Good morning all from sunny N Bucks.
Opera Plus this morning which I enjoy as I do enjoy being taken through an opera with extracts and insights into the composer,
Movie Mix film studs later on - a lovely film starring the wonderful Mark Rylance called “The Phantom of the Open” it’s on BBC iPlayer and I really recommend it.
Yesterdays visit to my chiro lady was excruciating but very effective , I’m going to try to fit in another one before my Arts Society holiday to Suffolk next week.
Now -Hollysteers - how could you?
I carried on reading a life of Samuel Pepys on the plane and so sorry to read he has just died !😢
Oh no! Spoiler alert!
(Is it the Claire Tomalin biography? Very good)
Wishing you all some respite from pain and worries, healing vibes to poorly peeps and a pleasant day to all.

cornergran Wed 19-Jun-24 08:00:57

Morning Mick, morning All. A mixed, undecided, sky over our corner of Somerset.

Yesterdays sunshine made it a good one for garden tidying and montana taming. We’re thinking to enjoy another spring and it will have to go, the space is really too small for it. It seems the wet wall was caused by a now sorted blocked and misaligned down pipe. It was cleared on Monday in our absence by a team of roofers already in site. Wow.

Indoor stuff today, bed to change, dust to remove and some calls to make, a catch up call from our goddaughter is also promised, she’s very upset again.

Good to hear miss oops is improving. Hope those migraines ease soon mizuna. The child minding grans are working hard, you all deserve medals. Have fun glesca grans.

Thinking of everyone with worries at the moment. Hope Wednesday is kind to us all.

luluaugust Wed 19-Jun-24 07:57:08

Good morning from an overcast W Kent, where DH is coughing for England.
Enjoy your day Glesca grans
Thoughts with all those struggling along

Pittcity Wed 19-Jun-24 07:52:47

Good morning from sunny Colchester. I'm putting a dress on for our Wednesday coffee meetup as it's dry and warm today.
A pile of ironing to tame later and starting to pack as we're going away on Friday.
Love to all 🦩 x

Marydoll Wed 19-Jun-24 07:52:36

Good morning all its 11°C here in Glasgow.

I am glad to hear Miss Oops is feeling some improvement. I hope she can get back to her usual meds routine ASAP. It is worrying when nausea impacts on our medication regime.

Yesterday I planned a quiet day, in preparation for the Glesca Grannies meet up. As usual that didn't happen.
I went down to do an inventory of the church candles, having forgotten Dollie's school would be there for their end of term Mass.
I got such a warm welcome and hugs from some of the staff. There was some rivalry between my own school and this one, but I was always in and out of it in my various roles and the staff treated me as one of their own.
Recently one teacher introduced me to her daughter as an honorary member of their staff. 😊
The bonus was that I saw my wee Dollie.💕

Later I was in Sainsbury's when the Ebay Queen messaged to ask if I wanted to pop in for a coffee with our other friend. That was my afternoon of rest scuppered!
On checking my phone later, I saw a message, accompanied by a video, from DS, which said: I hope you have your running shoes on for Thursday.. Babydoll is walking! 🎈🎉😍

I was delighted to I snap up a sale dress in Sainburys with a further 25% off. It does nothing for me, I look like Neil Gwynne! 🤣 Does anyone know where I can get a liberty bodice?

I'm off to plan my journey to the meet up. I need to work out how to avoid the steep hill and many steps at the Concert Hall. I have a plan, which may include a lift to the station, a train and then the Subway, interspersed with frequent rests.
Grannie on tour! I love an adventure.
DD is meeting me after work, the plan is to go for a Chinese meal , followed by a cocktail in Grand Central, if I feel OK.
That may not happen, but hope springs eternal.

I wish you all the best of days and keeping those, who are struggling in my prayers.

Liberty Wed 19-Jun-24 07:47:06

A quick visit this sunny morning from Suffolk which I hope will be a good one for all. Before my keep fit class I’m following DH to the garage where his car is booked in for a short service and MOT. I’ll drop him home before going off to my class.

He could have a courtesy car but it seems a waste taking one for a short journey of 4 miles. I can easily take him to collect his any time later.

Grandmabatty Wed 19-Jun-24 07:46:40

Karma I meant to say that you will be missed. I love to hear about what you get up to, it sounds so interesting.

BlueSapphire Wed 19-Jun-24 07:46:16

Good morning everyone from a cloudy but dry Northampton, set to remain so all day. I may get the back grass cut, as rain is forecast tomorrow.

Had a good walk yesterday afternoon with my walking group, but it was fun getting there! I have to get a bus to the starting point and the bus driver kept getting lost, went the wrong way a couple of times, so I ended.up standing at the front directing him - poor man had only done the route once before and it is quite complicated.

On the way home called in at the paper shop and paid my bill. Then sat in the summerhouse for a while and finished my book.

A few jobs to do this morning, then I may go to the well-being cafe after lunch; will bus there and walk home as it is all downhill!

I have a fancy for kedgeree for dinner tonight, which I shall look forward to.

Have a good day everyone.

hollysteers Wed 19-Jun-24 07:44:15

Good morning Mick and all from a dull northwest coast 12C.
Arrived home last night from Ibiza after a good flight. I managed a nice bit of shopping in Santa Eulalia before leaving, the clothes are so stylish. I carried on reading a life of Samuel Pepys on the plane and so sorry to read he has just died!😢 Excellent biography.

It’s feels so cold here! I strained my back throwing myself into a taxi whilst away and it’s still painful. I must also see a doc about my severe nightly cramps, it’s too much and a change of statins might help.

All on the medical side, a letter awaited me re my proposed hernia op. No date, but rather a discussion of pros and cons. Full of medical jargon, I need to give it some thought.

DGD leaves today and DD tomorrow and I will tiptoe round my bulging suitcase…

Hope your health settles Mick, thoughts to Mizuna and her migraines, enjoy your break karmalady and thoughts to all with troubles 🌺

Grandmabatty Wed 19-Jun-24 07:41:43

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 11° and dry. Ash that sounds like a lovely, spontaneous gathering. Brook and baubles I hope to see you later.
Yesterday dgs2 was on very good form. We laughed all day. I was very tired after I dropped off both boys but had to tidy the entire house which was a riot. A den in my bedroom, bath toys littering the bathroom, cot moved out of the dining room -dgs2s temporary bedroom - you get the picture! The only room I didn't tackle last night, apart from removing plastic food from my oven, was the kitchen. So that's a job for this morning.
Later, I hope to meet up with the Glasgow Grans. It's always a lovely get together. Have a good day all.

monk08 Wed 19-Jun-24 07:38:09

Good morning all from an overcast Black country, I think that's the forecast for most of the day.
Local shop then back home for housework.
Good to hear Miss Oops sounds a little better.
Mizuna hope your migraine eases soon.
Glesca Grans enjoy your meet up.
Have a lovely day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️

Gingster Wed 19-Jun-24 07:35:18

Good morning all and it’s sunny here in Essex.

Today Dh will go fishing and I will go to church and then walk up to town and wander around the market . I’ll meet my friend for a coffee and chat.

I hope MissOops continues to improve and Mizunas migraine eases soon.

Have a lovely catch-up Glesca Grans.

Take care all and I hope your days are good ones. 🌸

baubles Wed 19-Jun-24 07:23:43

Good morning from South Lanarkshire where I believe we’re promised a dry, warm day.

Yesterday I had a lovely relaxing pedicure, my toenails are now such a bright shade of coral that my feet could light my way home in the dark.

Daft dug had a session with her groomer so we’re both ready for our holiday.

Looking forward to seeing you and Marydoll later Brook. 👋

Have the best day possible everyone.

Blossoming Wed 19-Jun-24 07:12:15

Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny Lancashire where it is currently 11°C.

We are promised better temperatures today, perhaps as high as 20°. I do hope so, I am feeling a little better this morning and some warmth would be most welcome. Still on a soft diet for a while but pain has lessened.

Happy Wednesday, whatever you’re doing, hope any poorlies are on the mend 🌻
