Mirren
I'm " only " 67 and still working a,couple of mornings as a GP. So lots of listening and some talking. I enjoy working and I love my times with friends too.
However, I am ,and always have been am introvert.
I can put on a great " face " and no one ever believes me when I say that but , in true introvert style , exchange with other people drains my battery.
This is getting more marked as I age.
I am exhausted and " peopled out " after lovely chats.
I need alone time with my garden, a book or some lovely crafts in order to " recharge ".
This is also taking longer.
I find that I'm exhausted after time with friends too, other than family, and you're right about putting on a "face" - I can still do it but it seems to soak up more energy. Generally I'm less interested in meeting up with people and less keen on going out at night.
