Good morning everyone from Cloudy Chambers northwest coast.
My abscess saga continues, I thought I was having an extraction on Friday and girded my frightened loins but as it involves my bridgework, the dentist decided she needed a longer appointment so sent me away with antibiotics 🙄.Hopefully that will calm it down in the meantime.

I was going to have a jolly in my favourite park including lunch, but the wet day is not enticing, I’ll have a sing for the music club next week as haven’t sung for a while.
I’m glad you saw Chatsworth grandmattie, it would have been a great shame to miss that whilst in the area.

We had really good news yesterday - Dancing GD has gained a 2:1 in her BA (Dance)! So thrilled for her. BUT (here's the down side) she has decided she doesn't want to dance after all. I think she's 'all danced out' really. Anyway I'm taking her and her partner out for a wee celebratory lunch next
doesn't keep dancing then her body will lose that suppleness and fitness - though I suppose that instinct for movement will always remain 🤞. Who knows - maybe she'll take up tai chi!! Anyway, so proud of her - of course.
I don't know what I shall get up to today - probably not a lot after a busier-than-usual week. But I DID sleep last night after a long succession of nights of only 3 hours or less. What a joy!

Nothing planned for today , I’ll tie up the tomatoes , they don’t seem to be setting very well , just a few random tomatoes where there should be full trusses
Youngest son , with his wife and son , will be overnighting on the way to Donegal tomorrow, he will stay with his sister next door , hoping for a bbq tomorrow if the weather picks up
I hope Missoops gets some relief and Oops gets posting properly

Lovely sunny day in East London and mercifully not as hot. Have done some watering, very much needed.
There is one tomato but lots of flowers. Must pick the blueberries.

Dog is going to the vets this pm for more steroids. He's on a very low dose but they needed to see him.

The young ones are back today but going out with friends, I gather.

Mention of Westport reminds me of a family trip to the scenes of my DM’s roots in that beautiful part of the world, so thank you for that. High cloud and not particularly warm so a bit of time in the garden for me and then out of a meal with a friend to mark her wedding anniversary, twelve years since the untimely death of her husband. We mark our DH’s birthdays and our wedding anniversaries and give ourselves permission to remember and be grateful without emotionally burdening our children. Works for us.

Good news from Mizuna who will not need to be told to do her exercises; hope all continues to go well, with the bonus of having made a new friend.

Good morning from Gran Canaria. We return to the UK tomorrow evening. 10 days feels about right. At least 8,000 and often more steps per day as the hotel and outside is so big. My left hip is complaining though.

Very best wishes for a speedy recovery Mirzuna. Hope Gingster’s daughter and Miss Oops are feeling much better.

Good morning from an overcast NE, I think we will probably have showers today.
Yesterday was a pottering and odd job day. Decided to clean extractor hood and filter , thank goodness for my battery operated scrubbing brush.

Today there is a concert at GD's school, she is singing solo and then a duet with a friend. It is an outdoor event, a mini Glastonbury, not sure I can manage four hours as there is rain in Durham.

Good morning all, blast and damnation I’ve lost my post I’ll just have to start again.

It’s a cracking start to the day here on the east coast of Fife.
The suns shining but I’ll be staying at home today I’m tired from all my galavanting. I was on the train the other day to Edinburgh to see Grease the musical it was such fun and I met so many friends whom I hadn’t seen in years.
Yesterday I went to my local caravan park with my new PA carer and his wife. We all had a latte and a cake in their beautiful restaurant I’m so very fortunate with the SNP in my area they’ve supported me extremely well in getting my direct payments from the local authority where I am in receipt of a care package. I receive personal care 4 times a day 7 days a week and social support hrs p, 6 hrs a week which is broken down into 2hrs 3 times a week. These care and support hrs help me to stay at home instead of going into a nursing home I’m so grateful.

If anyone needs advice on direct payments just pm me I’ll be happy to help

GM, DS video called from Portugal, to say it was raining. I laughingly said that I knew he wouldn't have a rain jacket. Mum, I know we used to laugh when you took jackets and a brolly to Spain, when it was 40°C, but old habits die hard.
We have jackets and a brolly. 🤣

Yesterday, we had a lovely visit down the wild and wet Ayrshire Coast with DS and Babydoll. It was blowing a hoolie!
After being stuck in a traffic jam for what seemed ages, I am hoarse this morning, due to singing every children's song I know on repeat, trying to pacify our usually content wee darling, who just isn't herself.
We treated ourselves to chips, only to be dive bombed by seagulls, who chased us as we retreated to the car.

DH and I were unashamedly smug, when a screaming Babydoll (poor wee lamb) absolutely refused to go into her car seat and DS became more and more frustrated.
We have waited forty two years for this Karma. DS cried non stop until he was four years old and any trip in the car was hell on earth.
Babydoll was upset, because she wanted to continue walking in her first pair of proper shoes, which I had just bought and brought with us to try on her.

Largs has lots of charity shops, however I knew I had no hope of having a rummage.
However, just as DH was racing on ahead with the pram and me falling further and further behind, to my utter astonishment, DS asked if I wanted to go into a huge charity shop, while he got a coffee. Bliss!!

A gentle day ahead, before church this evening. The usual Saturday routine: pluck up courage to do my (very painful injection), send out Parish bulletin and update the website.

I am going into town this morning to see what is going on in our old market, apparently it is becoming a foodie hub and will have a delicatessen something sadly lacking at present. Caught up with DD2 and GC yesterday which was cheering.

Liberty, what a beautiful place to stay. Our Airbnb was just a mile away but DD and I decided that if ever we’re back in the area we would stay in the Gardener’s Cottage, it’s so pretty.

Baubles just read your post which brought back very happy memories of a holiday we spent with the children about 30 years ago,when the Troubles had quietened down, staying in the gardener’s cottage at Florence Court. The children particularly enjoyed being able to run around the huge garden when the NT property closed for the day. I think they had pretend games that the owned the place! Thank you for my 5 minutes of revelling in those happy memories.

Good morning from another sunny Suffolk day although,after a similar start yesterday,it was cloudy and several degrees cooler all day…no rain though.

Minuza, really great to read of how positive and well you are after your op yesterday. I’m sure your recovery will continue speedily and you’ll be dancing the night away if you so choose!

Apart fro a few household tasks,we’ll have a peaceful day until the late afternoon when there is a festival of ships,music,food etc at our nearest harbour,about 5 miles away. It will be very busy with locals and the many visitors so parking will be a problem so we’ll go early,probably like everyone else anxious to find a space without having to walk very far.

Hope today is a positive one for all,especially those who are unwell or caring for others.

good morning from a rather chilly and quite grey morning in North Yorkshire. It is good to catch up with your news and views. I got the chance to go on a very last minute holiday on a Fred Olsen ship. It has been very good but most of all very uplifting to still be able to be the person I am.! I used to be able to get ready and dash off to wherever with less than 24 hours notice. Now with constant pain, and very slow walking quite depressing that I need to take my mac from the carpark to the shop or could get soakes in a shower, get to feel that things are all going down hill!! Well things have looked up somewhat, still got the pain etc of course but FO sent me an email asking if I was interested in this cruise. They contacted me on the sunday and the ship was sailing on the wednesday. I was about to say no thanks but when I saw it said Arctic Ocean decided I must try and go. As I am a widow and live alone the wretched single suppleyment means that most trips are out of the question. Well I had the whip hand in this case and asked them what they were going to charge me for going alone, bearing in mind that the ship was leaving on the wednesday and a bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush! It worked and they only charged me £100 extra. It was somewhat of a mad dash on monday to get all the documentation and insurance etc etc done but did it and managed , by the skin of my teeth, to be there in time. They are a great company, using smaller ships, have great food, a lovely library a card room , swimming pool etc so I knew if i was unable to walk about much I would still have a good time and I did. Went right up to Spitzbergen, saw the midnight sun, whales , all sorts of seabirds etc and took myself off on the local bus to the most northerly garden in the world , an arctic/alpine garden near Tromso. Absolutely wonderful, of course only has a very short season from may to august to flower so lots to see. Had my polar base wear etc with me but the weather was so lovely and warm didnt need any of it. Great lectures and played bridge and scrabble etc etc . Great to have company of people with similar interests. Of course the added bonus was NO political waffling. Oh I shall defintely vote as I always do, you cant complain if you dont vote!! I go to meetings to have my two pennorth to say in person, but cannot stand watching on the tv as my blood pressure rises listening to the wretched politicians ignoring the questions asked and carrying on regardless saying what they want to say !! Ugh!! So there were papers and news of course but I had a blissful 2 weeks without any of the endless repeating of the same comments where they are all behaving like children in the playground , spending the time slagging each other off and doing the usual "its not my fault, you cant blame me "Ah well now down to earth washer going, chaos to sort out etc. Time for a coffee and radio 3 with some J S Bach to cheer the morning . Good morning all and it’s sunny but cool. Lovely!

Yesterday little DGD danced with her dancing school at the school fete and spent her ‘savings’ on multiple activities. She had a whale of a time and today is going to Colchester Zoo for a friends birthday treat. Dd was supposed to be going but isn’t well enough.😢.

We have nothing planned so will watch the tennis, which has been very exciting this year.

Mizuna so glad the op is now done and you can get on the road to recovery. How lovely to have a like minded soul to share your room with. It’s always lovely to find a new friend.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 12° and dry. I'll take that! Mizuna you sound very cheerful and how lovely to have met a kindred spirit! Ash fingers crossed for no more migraines. GrandMattie your trip will have done you good. That, and spending time with your ds.
Yesterday dd popped in with dgs2 and he proudly handed me donuts he insisted his mum buy "for gramma." They are a particularly vicious shade of pink, the icing tastes awful and I really don't like them. However I graciously accepted them and gave them back when they left. In the afternoon, I visited another care home. This one was in a beautiful old house with high ceilings. It was as nice as the one on Wednesday. So I've picked my three and let the social worker know. Later dd came back with washing to be dried and dgs1. He was incredibly hyper and excited because he has finished nursery and thinks he starts school next week. We have to keep reminding him it's holiday time.
Today I'm meeting a friend for breakfast. Then, this afternoon, dgs2 is coming for a sleepover. He's very excited about it because he never has slept over just himself. It'll be lovely to have him. I'm having a ham salad for dinner. He'll probably have beans. Have a good day all.
