Good morning from a dull and overcast corner of the Sarthe.

Mick: have you checked if any neighbours where you live have similar problems with their TV? Correct me if I’m wrong, but I’ve a feeling you are in a community dwelling where perhaps there is some form of management who should take responsibility for the aerial?

Yesterday we shopped for goodies to take back to my home as we set off tomorrow lunchtime. Wine, of course and a few tinned items, etc.

Good morning from a wet Bristol. It is raining now and due to do so off and on for at least all of today. The gardens need a good soak!
I did very little yesterday as DS was in the living room watching the results with one eye and working with the other. His international baccalaureate results came in; he needed to so silt colleagues, etc. Apparently, this cohort have been pretty average and fewer bouquets were given.
DGS who slept in the spare room (as opposed to the living room) went back to Folkestone mid morning. He is very tall now, taller than his dad was, probably about 6’6” or more. No competition for me at 5’10”, I’m still the short, fat one of the family 🤣
DS stayed for dinner (roast duck legs, yum!) before going off to DD’s. He wants to visit friends in France and Germany before he leaves again.
Today will be quiet. (It has just started bucketing)

Good morning Mick from a sopping wet 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿- it’s biblical and not forecast better until this afternoon 😡. Will trot out for a paper shortly but not to the next village as is my usual routine, round the corner will have to do today!

Something new and intriguing this evening - a school reunion with my two oldest friends and Mr PG and his brother have invited themselves along - ”to see who’s still alive…”😱

Good morning from Malta where the wind has dropped at last and we expect a hot, sunny day.

I’m about to get up and put a coat of paint on the last wall of the yard. What a job. That will teach me not to be so tight fisted in future and just pay for someone who knows what they are doing!😂

Spent yesterday morning with the boys so DD3 could go and do her grocery shopping. They were both very sweet and cuddly. The older (by 2 minutes) one has really lost his appetite in this heat, bless him.

Watched tennis all afternoon, I don’t know why I watch as I was a nervous wreck most of the time! Anyway, more of the same later.

Hope you get your tv sorted Mick, it’s very frustrating when the picture is poor. I have IPTV and it frequently just freezes so I have to reboot it and miss half the programme I was watching.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 9° and sunny. Showers are forecast and it feels cold. This has been a washout year for decent weather here. Bellasnana you will be so glad once it's done! Think of the satisfaction. Ash safe journey home tomorrow.
Yesterday I slept off and on but I still managed to get all the washing done and changed the duvet cover, so that was achieved at least. I contacted my teacher friend as I hadn't heard from her and she has covid for the third time. It's still doing the rounds here.
Today I'll have a quiet day. I'll go to Aldi for food then just potter about. I might make apricot jam to join the gooseberry jam in the cupboard. I don't expect any visitors this weekend so it'll be quiet for a couple of days. I'm not sure what I'll make for dinner yet. Have a good day all.

Good morning from a sunny W Kent. We are off out today on a railway trip into Essex with one of DH’s railway groups. He has recovered from Covid much quicker than I have so I just hope I can keep up. Lots of sitting on a coach so should be alright.

Good morning from a fresh, rainy Cornwall. I've decided to give in to my knee replacement and spend another week at home. I'm usually such an overdoer and to spend a fortnight not going out seems very odd. Still, I can sew and potter and put my feet up (yawn).

Yesterday a box of Maltesers appeared on my doormat from a friend plus a card written individually by all my allotment knitting group ladies. I'm motoring through the Maltesers. Later today my son is coming round to watch England play football. That same son's three days photographing on a beach was nothing to do with sand, it was a conference with Beach in the title ha ha.

The boys school summer fete went well the school was celebrating its 70th year so the fete was bigger than last year, they had fire eaters, magicians, musicians and a small area with fairground rides .
Meeting friends this evening.

Hopefully a quiet day today, a bit of housework, read the papers, start my new book club book , watch Wimbledon if it’s on and generally potter. Lovely! DS1 will probably pop in for a coffee.

Yesterday we took our friend with Parkinson’s to our usual pub. He’s very poorly now but still the lovely gentle man we’ve always known. He was a an excellent sportsman until this cruel disease came for him. It’s not fair is it?

Good morning everyone from a rather wet Northampton; I had plans to go to Rushden Lakes, as those vouchers are burning a hole in my pocket, but not worth it in this weather - probably next Saturday instead.

Went to Dance classes yesterday; have started an extra lesson of Barre exercises which uses completely different muscles to our normal ballet class. Good for balance and posture.
Had lunch when I got home, then decided to cut the back grass, as rain is forecast every day for the coming week. Feeling thankful I got it done, as the rain started just as I was finishing.

A quiet day in today; I have a fancy to make scones if I have all the ingredients. Apart from that it will be the Saturday papers, reading and catch-up tv. No tennis, as I cannot stand it (sorry Bellasnana )!

Steak and baked potato for dinner tonight.

Good morning from Lincolnshire where I arrived yesterday evening after collecting GD from school. It was last day of term and she was presented with her grade 5 piano certificate during the afternoon assembly and also a farewell to her friend who is moving to Jersey.
It was sunny and warm when we arrived but the rain started during the night and thunder is forecast for this afternoon.

Good morning Michael and all GNs. It’s dry in South Yorkshire at the moment but rain is due. I am more mobile than I was yesterday - still painful but I hope I will be able to get out and do a small shop this morning. DD et al called in yesterday on their way back from Lincoln where they had had a long day out. GS brought me some lovely fudge to cheer me up even though I have foresworn sweets and chocolate at the moment. Will I eat it? Of course I will!

Good morning from a damp Wiltshire.

DD1 is having a BBQ this afternoon for family members (about 15) so it’s🤞the rain holds off. She was 50 yesterday but certainly doesn’t look it. I remember when she was 33 and was asked to prove her age when she bought wine in Asda. It made her day.

We looked around a gym yesterday with a large pool. We absolutely must do something as it’s not a case of use it or lose it - I think we lost it ages ago. I used to be quite a strong swimmer. On holiday and in a pool for the first time since 2019 I could barely do breast stroke. Front crawl is impossible now due to rotator cuff problems in both shoulders.

Morning all from Devon. The sky is currently blue but rain is forecast and it’s already windy. I have booked lunch out for us today and OH will be watching England play later. We may go for a swim in the indoor pool. Other than that, relaxing and reading.

Good morning from a sunny East Kent - in fact i am sat looking at the sea - the cottages garden gate goes directly onto the beach! We booked it with the expectation that our dog would be on his holiday 😥. Oh well.

Cottage is rather a posh name for what is in effect a very large shed😄😄😄 - but a very quirky and posh one. Extremely comfortable though.

Today is out into the fresh air snd walk then go into Whitstable to have a potter.

Good morning from a damp hillside in south Glos, the rain is very welcome here!
Yesterday I collected my new contact lenses and happily wore them for a few hours. I did get a few bits in town before coming home. Dd arrived late afternoon, lovely to catch up with her.
She’s off to an orchestra rehearsal this morning so we’re dog sitting her pooch- the two dogs get on very well together.
Nothing much planned for the weekend, dog walks of course, so will enjoy having dd here.

Good morning all. Gloomy & wet here in Sefton. It looks set in for the day but sunny periods forecast for late afternoon. It is often sunny late afternoon here on the north west coast. Better late than not at all I suppose.
A quiet day yesterday after spending a large chunk of the night following the election. We're off to our local market town this morning. It's a few minutes drive away into rural Lancashire & its market day today. I suspect quite a few traders will not turn up as it's so wet. We will do a food shop as well. I hope the promised sunny periods turn up this afternoon. The garden is looking positively tropical. The mild wet weather has encouraged rampant growth which needs taming. Oh, it's now really bucketing down☔️. May curtail the market visit.

A quiet day is planned after a disturbed night. I coughed so much, I must have burst a blood vessel in my throat. I got a bit of a fright. Mr Grumpy, of course slept through it!
My phone call from the surgery was positive. After a chest xray, followed by a discussion with a GP ( not my own, but the senior partner), I will then be re-referred to the respiratory clinic.
It appears my own GP did not act on the advice of the cardiologist in December. I am pretty annoyed by this. I have been coughing non stop for hearty two years.

An unexpected visit from Dollie made my day yesterday. I think DS and DD needed a break after ten days of non stop chatter.
She was assigned housework tasks, ( finding the bits and bobs Babydoll had hidden and mopping the conservatory floor) and then we had an afternoon crafting. She was a delightful companion, I have missed her so much.
She posted on the family chat that she had vacuumed the whole house, when she had only hoovered up the crumbs from between the sofa cushions.🤭

I can now access the spare room again, so I plan to restore some order. Much to my surprise, the removal of the mattress was slick and efficient.
I too may bake!
