I’m glad you seem to have found a solution to your TV issue, Mick.

We were able to sit outside for our final dinner last night, after doing some packing, etc. My reliable Fiesta started straight away after more than three weeks of going nowhere so now has a full fuel tank in readiness for our journey to Ouistreham. A night at Portsmouth Travelodge is booked following our ferry crossing late this afternoon.

Good morning, it’s grey, damp and chilly here in south Glos.
Yesterday it eventually stopped raining and the sun came out but there was a stiff breeze that was decidedly cold.
I did get the washing dried on the line and the dogs enjoyed their walks.
DD had a good time at orchestra, she will be down again for the next rehearsals.
I have woken up with a headache, I have no idea why, hoping a coffee will help!

It’s been raining off and on since I woke up at 0300. Managed to doze off again and only now surfaced. My bad nights are starting up again 🙁

I had a quiet day yesterday. I rarely watch tennis as I can’t usually see the ball but was disappointed the Raducanu had to pull out and I was hoping to watch her doubles with Murray.

I pottered yesterday, and had my neighbour in for a cuppa. She tested positive last week, has felt tired and unwell. Yesterday, her COVID test was negative and she went out for the first time.

Church today and very little again today. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from Cornwall where it's cool and rainy. A day of sons yesterday, with my eldest popping in unexpectedly with his six-year-old lad who is a busy bee and watered my apple trees and vacuumed my hallway. 🤣🤣 While he was being industrious his dad told me all about his recent exciting exploration of German tunnels and showed me hair-raising selfie videos. Later my youngest son came with an Asda bag of shopping, two pizzas and some ale and we watched the England football match.

Today I fancy jumping on a bus and marching across Perranporth beach to the far end where the Poldark black cliffs are. Of course, I won't.

Good morning from a sunny dry Lincolnshire, for now.
Yesterday was very windy and we had frequent heavy showers. DS, DIL and GD2 went for a walk and they ended up at a little church where GD was invited to play the organ.
GD1, her BF and I stayed in the house and cooked dinner.
The evening was spent playing card and board games.
Today the family are off to the motorcycle racing, I will read my book by the window where there are lovely countryside views. Last night we had several deer came to visit.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where the sun is out but it’s due to rain later. Pleased to hear you’re sorting your tv issues Mick.
My back is now stiff rather than painful and I had a short walk yesterday which I felt better for. Today I’m cooking lunch for DD and the menfolk. DS may ring later for a chat to tell me all about their recent travels. I spoke to him briefly on Friday morning but they were just back from the airport and tired out after the long flight.
Mizuna that Perranporth pipe dream will become a reality sooner than you think - in the meantime hasten slowly!

Good morning from s somerset, rain later, cool and cloudy

Ds flew back home yesterday, we had an amazing few days, much chatting and instead of the expected anti-climax- after he left, I felt much loved, respected and appreciated. I will be handing over some carving items and books and he is very excited about getting started in a new hobby. The first heavy parcel is now ready to go on monday. My DH had this hobby, then I carried on with i,t when widowed and loved going to carving group but it all collapsed at lockdown. I anticipate two more larger and heavier parcels to go but am sending in stages as the items total up to quite some value and are also very heavy

A rest day today, while still picking blueberries, so far I have over 2kg in the freezer. More on the countertop ripening. Me and the birds have reached a compromise. I am in awe of the results of just 2 or 3 bumble bees, hundreds of berries

Morning all from Devon.

Not much planned today apart from Sunday lunch in the next village and maybe a swim. I will check on OH’s head to see if it’s healing well! He didn’t duck quickly enough yesterday going through the metal French window.

We have planned next week’s outings which include a trip on the river Dart and visits to three different National Trust properties. The weather is forecast to be wet!

Good morning from a grey W Kent. Yesterday’s rail trip went well. I don’t know Essex that well but we visited two heritage railways and had a lovely meal at The Kings Head at Ongar. I got talking to one of the other wives on the trip and we found we both have AC who have moved from Kent to Scotland, her DS is now living on Shetland, my DD in Perth, nice to have found someone to chat to on these boys days out.
Today DG3 is coming to help DH move some boxes around and we shall take him out to lunch. I still have my cough left over from Covid so I hope I don’t cough in the restaurant.

I was so uncomfortable in the armchair last night that I risked sleeping the rest of the night in bed, I slept for 5 hours but it was still a bit difficult to get up this morning. The new painkillers aren’t having much effect yet.
DD1 and her family will call in today and do a few things for me that I can’t do myself. Why do they put electricity meters low down at the back of cupboards?? First world problems!

Good morning from Sefton where the sky is very grey & it is raining heavily. It is forecast to stop by mid afternoon.🤞There is also a stiff breeze. It is cold. Minimal plans for today - a cooked breakfast for a change as a late lunch is booked at a canalside pub where we will meet DS2 & his little family. Good morning from Malta where it is currently 24°C but rising to a high of 31°C later. Blue skies and no wind for a change!

Yesterday I worked non stop from early morning and managed to finish painting the yard, plus cleaning out the storage cupboards, washing the furniture etc so it all looks clean and fresh and rather startlingly white!😂

I also finished painting my patio set at the front which had been looking a bit rusty. It’s quite satisfying as it is years since I attempted any DIY. My DH was so good at any jobs that needed doing, I just left it to him. He’d be spinning in his grave if he could see the heavy weather I made of painting the yard!

Anyway, I have enjoyed reading all your posts, Roses I am sorry you’ve woken with a headache. I find it happens when I haven’t drunk enough water.

Mizuna it must be frustrating not being able to do what you’d like. I hope you will soon be recovered well enough to jump on that bus!

I’m off to Mass this morning after which my weekly chat with my pal in Leicester, followed by more tennis. I managed to watch a lot of it yesterday in between jobs.

Good morning from a dry overcast start to the day here on the east coast of Fife.
What a day yesterday I went to my neighbours bbq with my bottle of Prosecco and a few hamburgers the rain tipped down, luckily they had 3 gazebos up otherwise we would have been drenched, there was music they even had a DJ with great music .
My family will soon be here and we’re going to Edinburgh festival it will be so much fun.

We enjoyed a walk along the beach yesterday to Chanonry Point for dolphin watching, we saw quite a few and then warmed up coffee and cake in the beach cafe. Not sure about todays plans yet, if it’s dry I’m hoping to get on with the gardening and DH has an outside drain to try to unblock.
Won’t be long until you’re marching along that beach mizuna early days yet though!
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 11° and dry. Jaxjacky the wind has dropped here too, thank goodness. Ash a calm crossing for you both 🤞. Bellasnana well done you! I bet it looks fabulous.
Yesterday was a bits and pieces day. I watered the garden, went to Aldi and did some housework. But the apricots didn't get turned into jam and my healthy dinner became pie and beans. I went to bed very early too as I just felt low and out of sorts.
Today I will make boeuf bourginone in the slow cooker, apricot jam in the jam pot, do an ironing and visit mum. Have a good day all.

Good morning Mick and everyone from a rather grey and cool Carlisle.
Yesterday was sunny though still not very warm and it was rather breezy. I took an early trip to the recycling centre with various bits of rubbish that have been accumulating including builders' rubble I have excavated from the garden, a sack of soil and gravel containing the roots of an aggressive spreader I have banished...etc. The garage is looking tidier but I haven't finished with it yet.
After lunch, I spread lawn food over the dry front lawn and prayed for rain to spare me from getting the hose out. I was rewarded by a heavy shower later.
I had hoped to be watching the Raducanu/Murray match but was sadly disappointed. Later, I managed to watch the Tour de France and the penalty shoot out at the same time!
Today, a quiet one with the papers and some urgent admin. Later I will watch the cycling and possibly a film in the evening.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders where it's cloudy and cool.

I was gutted yesterday when there was a heavy shower to find the ceiling is dripping again. This is after the roofers have supposedly finished the extensive (and expensive) repairs.
The roofer says he'll be back today but it's so depressing.

Quaker meeting here - in another room, and then my cousin and I have been invited to a friend's garden party.

Mizuna I feel your frustration but soon you'll be leaping about again. 💃 🕺 🏋️‍♂️

Good morning from a dry but definitely chilly Suffolk. Rain is forecast later…what a surprise.

DS and tribe( his word not mine) are coming later and I expect we’ll hear all about DGS’s friends birthday party yesterday which was at an indoor racing track…..10 year old boys’ idea of heaven. He won a prize for the fastest lap….there were 12 at the party. We have a photo but I expect a second by second account.

At the other side of the country DGD2 flies off to Cape Town tonight on a school netball,hockey and rugby tour. There are about 100 16-18 year olds and she is super excited. The itinerary looks wonderful with trips to Robben island,a safari and surfing trips as well as the sport matches.

They each had to raise 50% of the cost which she did by babysitting in their neighbourhood and saving her pocket and birthday money.

My keep fit teacher,who has a daughter of the same age said she thinks the summer after GCSEs is the best one ever….no worries really about the results and full of excitement about the future. So sad that for some youngsters life isn’t so positive and easy.

Yesterday DS called in with the boys on their way to a friends which was a nice surprise.
Today I shall get some weeding done, they are coming through thick and fast from the neighbours who are non gardeners.

I have a cold! It's the first one I can remember having since baby Dancing GD gave me a corker more than 20 years ago. Then, I picked her up after her nap and she was just so full of it. I said "Oh poor baby" and she leaned back, gave me one of her lovely little smiles - and sneezed full in my face! There was no escaping those germs and the result was the worst cold I ever had! So bad that it gave me 20 years' immunity! Anyway, this isn't anything like that - just strange to have one. But then again, given the weather .........
Today I shall be off soon down to Tesco's to get the major shopping out of the way early in the week so that I can concentrate on preparing for a Royal Visit from my little great grandson next weekend. He's crawling now, and into everything. It will be such a joy to see him! But it's a very long time since this old house has accommodated a little crawler so adjustments will need to be made.

Good morning from Durham. Bright and breezy, although rain forecast and a maximum of 17.
I’m having a lie in and an easy day after a slip in Morrisons where I executed an almost perfect splits! I’ve pulled the hamstring in my right leg - not serious, but it’s a bit achy this morning. Advice is rest, ice and painkillers if needed, so that’s PlanA for today.
I’m going away on Wednesday, so I might start and get some stuff ready for that.
