Good Morning Tuesday 9th July 2024

Good morning Mick and all from Polmont where it's currently 11° and dry. I'm not sure what the weather will be like today.
Yesterday was a full on day with the boys. Lots of playing and squabbling too. We spent a lot of time in the garden as it was a nice day. There was a walk to the swings too.
Today I'm taking them to soft play. I loathe soft play but it'll tire them out. My village is having the main street resurfaced and there is chaos around with roads closed and traffic lights everywhere. I'm hoping if we leave early, it'll avoid it all. Have a good day all

Morning all from another damp and grey Devon. But hey ho, we’ll be out and about later! We had a good lunch in Dartmouth yesterday and a trip on the river.

Today we’re going to a National Trust property - Coleton Fishacre - which looks interesting!

I assume DH will be watching the first Euros semi final tonight, I will be reading Alice Munro short stories.

Good morning Mick and all to follow from a grey and very rainy Lincolnshire.
The forecast is for thunderstorm this afternoon.
Yesterday we went to Mablethorpe and visited the seal sanctuary, there were other animals and birds too. The lemur enclosure was fun to watch as a keeper fed them.
Spent a couple of hours on the beach and then had a fish and chip tea.
It really was too much walking for me and I was really tired last night.
I think the family are doing a full day of activities in Lincoln today, I will be staying put and reading a book.

No plans today although I need to go to the bank, go to buy an umbrella for the backyard and to the garden centre for some more plants to kill. I do wish I had the knack for keeping them alive but I have the opposite of green fingers, alas.

Watched a lot of tennis yesterday and more of the same later on.

Good morning from s somerset, wet cool and windy today, again

I am very in the pottering zone again ie no definite plans for anything much. I do want to prep my harvested charlottes for the freezer, I always find them useful in winter. I did make 7 ready meals and used my tagine as it was gathering dust. It took so long that it will be gathering dust again

No sewing yesterday so I am hoping that I get a bit of mojo for that

Taichinan, I hope you begin to feel more like your old self soon. Watch out for the covid re-bound, you will feel better and some days later it hits you again

Busy day today. Last choir session of this term and then a mad dash to watch Persie in her end of junior school play - which is a bit of a shock to the system.

Good morning from a wet Bristol . It rained steadily most of my broken night… the temperatures are due to rise from 16C to 19C; at least it’ll be a bit warmer now that the vicious wind has died down.
Toddlers were much quieter due to a few absences; one family gave us helpers a box of chocolates, which was sweet of them.
I spent the afternoon cutting and sewing up squares for my patchwork, also cut out and mostly sewed up a simple jersey top, in preparation for the last online class this morning.(I don’t have much experience sewing jersey).
I shan’t go to outdoor tai chi this morning; I don’t want to get wet, especially as it is a 30 minute walk each way.
I have a PCC meeting this evening; also I want to bake a cake for DD’s own PCC meeting tomorrow.
So good to hear that the twins enjoyed their morning at playgroup, Bella; ask about the plants to murder. Geraniums are usually easy to grow but like most plants need feeding and watering…

Good morning from Torbay where we arrived back safely yesterday afternoon. It’s dull and overcast but the heavy rain from the evening has gone, thankfully, giving the overflowing drains time to recover!

I'm sorry you’re not seeing this part of South Devon in better weather, Ladyleftfieldlover but you seem to be making the best of it. Coleton Fishacre is one of my favourite NT properties locally with beautiful gardens, too. For a traditional seaside/fishing town, Brixham is worth a look, too, while you’re in that area.

Bellasnana: I'm glad the twins settled at nursery without tears; perhaps having each other helps?

So sorry you have Covid, Taichinan and hope you soon recover. Our Props Lead has it so our session at the theatre today is cancelled.

Good morning from a soggy hillside in south Glos, a wet dog walk this morning.
Dd went home yesterday, it was lovely having her. DH and I took the two dogs out for a good walk before she left.
I enjoyed my lunch with friends, the food was good but such enormous portions- honestly I would have had three meals out of the one my friend had! Doggy bags all round.
Today I have absolutely nothing planned, I caught up with housework yesterday afternoon and just have a few bits of washing to do.
I hope today goes well for you all 🌹

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a very wet South Yorkshire. Ah well, it’ll soften the ground up a bit. I have a few new plants to put in. Had a good drive out into the Peak District yesterday before it got busy. It made me think of all the times I had the luxury of sitting back and admiring the spectacular scenery while DH drove, but now I have to keep my eyes fixed firmly on the twisty turny roads! On my way home the queues heading for Chatsworth stretched a long way back! I had a chat to an old friend in the afternoon. He has had some significant health issues but is now on the mend. We always manage to find something to laugh about. Chiropodist coming this morning if she doesn’t get washed away, and volunteering this afternoon.

Voluntary phone was steady yesterday, I need to update the spreadsheet, managed a quick trip to the farm shop in the rain and then it was quiz.
No real plans today, I must login to the NHS app to request drugs, later I’ll drop in a birthday present to our friend five minutes away.

Good morning from a rainy Black Country.

It stayed dry and very warm on our walk yesterday. We did 5.5 miles. Then an hour of Line Dancing in the afternoon, left me with very tired legs.

DGD3 is 15 today! Though if you saw her you would think she was at least 19! Will meet up with them all for a meal Saturday as her sister will be 20 that day.

Over to Mums today, to take her food shopping and top up her Dossett box with pills. Then tonight take her to a memory cafe, where there will be entertainment and jacket potatoes. Hope to go for a walk with her, but rain may stop that!

Good morning from another grey and damp Suffolk after a lovely day yesterday.

My friend and I had a long beach walk where we saw a drift of beautiful yellow horned poppies. I had to look them up when I got home.

We talked to a couple of fishermen who had been on the beach for over 4 hours and hadn’t caught anything. DH and I had a similar conversation with 2 separate groups of men last week. They were all hoping for sea bass.

Apparently seals are now common just off the Suffolk shore as well as Norfolk. Each adult eats between 10-20lbs of fish each day and these men think that they account for the dearth of fish for them.

A day at home today and I have papers to read before a meeting tomorrow.

Taichinan I hope that you begin to feel better soon and others feeling under the weather or with worries and distress in their lives.

Supermarket shop and then a lunch to celebrate our local history society’s 50th birthday with an excellent local speaker. Must do a bit of preparation for the vote of thanks to him and to various other people who work so hard. Need to make a decision about what to wear but shower first. More rain expected this morning - again.

Good morning Mick and everyone from cool, grey and showery Carlisle. Back to 'normal' after some sunny days! It seems worse for you people down south when I look at the weather map and read some of your posts.

Yesterday I felt much better, I got through a pile of laundry, vacuumed upstairs and finally defrosted the freezer. I don't know why I dislike that job so much. It's now greatly helped by having another in the garage to put the kitchen one's contents in. That one defrosts itself, thankfully.

Today more housework and I must get my head round feeding the visitors this weekend, a shopping list is required. After that, I plan an afternoon reading, the amount of unread books is mounting.

Good morning my friends it’s a dry dull start to the day here on the east coast of Fife I’m expecting my friend to drop in today. I’ve ordered an ice cream cake from Luvians in Cupar it’s going to be filled with chocolate and marshmallows, it’ll be delicious as usual, I’ve had those cakes before. Rain is predicted today so I’ll just stay in and collect the cake tomorrow when my carer comes in.
