Good Morning Tuesday 9th July 2024
(47 Posts)Good Morning Everyone,
Its a grey and wet start here in brackley this morning.
Yesterdays bus trip was shortened mainly due to accidents on m40 creating long tailbacks , so I allowed for delays .
Returning home though , just coming into the town by the Mercedes F1 site to see people standing outside the entrance no doubt hoping to see Lewis Hamilton .
Today bus trip to Bicester as usual hope to have a perfect day , returning to watch Tour De France on TV .
As to TV signal as to BBC channels some improvement but will fir a signal booster as its needed .
Take Care,
Mick
Good morning from a very wet Sefton. So different from yesterday which was warm & sunny - a 2 loads of washing & a grub around the garden day. A trip into town on the train this morning to wander through The Van Gogh Experience which I was disappointed to read that Hollysteers found underwhelming. I was hoping to be bit more whelmed as the advertising has made it look really lovely. However it's a trip out & out of the rain & we'll treat ourselves to a nice lunch afterwards - whelmed or not.
I'm another fan of Coleton Fishacre (isn't that a fab name) llfl, well worth a visit. I wanted to move in!
Take care all.
Adorable aren’t they!
Good morning everybody. Torrential rain here from 4am. Still chucking it down! I had to close the bedroom window it was chilly and noisy. Our Boy Wonder is away with his Y7’s boy school pals at camp, sleeping in a 10 bed yurt. He’ll be loving it, a Bear Gryllis lieutenant by the time he gets home. L’il Miss said on Saturday that she was going to miss him but on Sunday she grinned and said “mummy says I can go on his PlayStation after school while he’s away!” so a smiley girl. Cartoon age appropriate (natch).
Well today is a red letter day for Himself. The last weekly iv chemo after 6 months of treatment - then a break of a few weeks. During which the cancers will grow back, but at what rate? A scan this Sunday at Christie’s and results at the end of this month to determine the response to this latest chemo. Professor Mansoor and his team are just wonderful, we are so very grateful for their expertise.
I hope to return after the summer on a more regular basis. This little snapshot into our lives is to say thank you for thinking of us all during this difficult time. I’ve really appreciated your kind mentions.
Bella, as our Dollie would say, They are so cute.
Good morning from a wet Oxfordshire, hope you get your perfect day Mick.
Off to Northampton today to look at tiles for the Bathroom refurb.
MissOops came back yesterday, not ill, thankfully, but another huge row with Nephew, usually she lets his rants roll over her, but she isn’t in a good place herself and argued back, he has mental health issues and she really has had enough.
Anyway, we will see what happens, meanwhile at least she will walk the dog today.
Hope all those who are poorly get better soon and that we see some sunshine, it really is no Summer so far is it?
Have a good day everyone.
Good morning from Durham. After a couple of half-decent days, it’s back to rain today.
Absolutely no plans, other than resting my leg and chucking some bits into a suitcase for my break - an early flight tomorrow.
I love the idea of a nursery uniform - those white tops will be impossible to keep clean - DD2 gets filthy at Nursery, but we always say it’s a sign he’s had a good day!
I won’t labour Urms return, but a warm welcome back. Your posts always remind me of DH’s experiences - a roller coaster of emotions. His Consultant Chris Carey often phoned at night with results.
By the brief post, I assume MD is still unwell - I really hope for better days.
Best wishes to all.x
Bellasnana adorable!
Urms wishing you all the best, all fingers are crossed for Himself.
Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Overcast but dry so far and the buckets are dry but there was only one shower yesterday so not enough to test the latest repair.
I had a restful day, pottering in the garden, deadheading the roses etc.
I hope for another like that. My cousin is going to Glasgow today where she has friends so I won't see her.
This weather reminds me of camping too Karmalady when our DC were small. They loved it but I was desperate to get home.
DD has been sending pictures from the North of Scotland in the rain but at least they're in a cottage.
I hope you aren't too unwell Taichinan and that Marydoll has a much better day.
Wishing you all a happy day.
Good morning all from a wet Black country.
Small local shop and a bit of housework that's todays plans.
Urms 🤞 scan results are good and perhaps you will be able to spend some time in your happy place take care.
Taichinan and Marydoll.
Have a great day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.
Good morning Mick and all from a teeming down northwest coast. Just a quiet day yesterday, going through my songs and this afternoon to the music club, where I think it’s my turn on the desk keeping order.
DD arrives tonight from the south and I am roasting a piece of beef. I don’t do much ‘proper’ cooking now I’m on my own, so I hope it turns out well.
The geraniums I overwintered in the front porch are now in my front window boxes and are really splendid, I’m so pleased with them and now the lavender is out with a lone massive self seeded foxglove, it looks very pretty.
Get well soon Taichinan, thoughts to Urmstongran and I hope you enjoy the Van Gogh experience Gala. We had lunch in the Albert Dock at Gusto, which was ok, but my favourite is Bistro Pierre in Button Street (not part of the chain Bistrot Pierre.🌺
Morning from South Lanarkshire, bright just now but dire weather predictions for this afternoon. I’ll be in Glasgow meeting up with an old friend (in both senses), how did that happen?!. We have an annual lunch together, it’s nice to still be in each other’s lives.
Gorgeous photo Bellasnana, will they be full time in nursery?
You’ll still be much needed!
Urms, good to see you, I hope your DH’s results allow you a break at your happy place.
Sorry to read about your Covid infection Taichinan, it does seem to be on the rampage again. I’ve been wondering if I should risk looking odd on my many bus journeys now by donning a mask again. I do hope you feel better soon. You too EkwaNimitee
Good wishes to everyone who isn’t feeling great just now, you are all I’m my thoughts.
Good morning everyone from a grey and damp-looking Angus coast.
Thank you for all your good wishes but I feel an absolute fraud! If all the symptoms happened together I'd be deserving of your sympathy, but it changes from hour to hour, first one thing then another. Twice yesterday I thought 'I'm totally over this now' only to have something else creep in to show me I'm not. This morning I feel fine ,.....
So glad the twins enjoyed their nursery experience Bellasnana. It's wonderful and sad at the same time to see them move up from babyhood.
Nannyjan I know just what you mean about '15 looking like 19'! Such beautiful young people, aren't they.
I'm enjoying hearing about all your staycations around the country - particularly yours in Lincolnshire Harrigran. I hope the family enjoy Lincoln, particularly Bailgate and Steep hill.
Now I must go and and tidy my kitchen and run the vacuum around while covid isn't watching. A real fraud!
Have a good day everyone and thoughts to all who really aren't well
.
Good morning everyone from a very dull, grey and damp Northampton; rain forecast all day. Oops I hope you have got.your umbrella! Wondering which tile place you are making a .journey for....
Didn't do a lot yesterday apart from yoga and some washing. Made a huge batch of chicken soup/stew yesterday; had some for dinner last night and two more meals are in the fridge plus a lunch sized portion.
Need to Hoover the stairs this morning and will also give the en-suite a good clean. Not sure about walking group this afternoon, depends on the weather.
Bellasnana your.boys are so cute!
Urmston wishing you and your DH all the best.
Must get moving; hope today is kind to all.
Urms wishing you and DH all the best.
Taichinan like you I keep thinking it is all over but still coughing away.
Bellasnana adorable picture but oh white t shirts
Marydoll all the best
Good morning from a damp Co Armagh, oh well the rain butt will be replenished
The Audiologist yesterday gave me a letter for the GP suggestion the necessary medication to be prescribed for my ear infection . I dropped the letter in the surgery on my way home , Ive to ring today to see if the meds have been prescribed
I feel a bit out of sorts , from the infection , but also from not wearing my hearing aids !
Wet day means gardening will be confined to the greenhouse, but that depends on me feeling up to it , a book and a supply of coffee feels more acceptable 🤣
I hope everyone has a good day
Good morning from a very cold and wet Co Durham.
Today sees the end of an era for me. From today dgd will be allowed to walk to and from school alone. She will still be dropped here three mornings per week with the granddogs, but will do the walk herself. After doing the walks with her since she entered nursery at just three I feel redundant. Fortunately her school walk doesn’t include any roads to cross. I’ll have to use my exercise bike more now. It’s good to have something to share as usually my life is very mundane.
Hope our poorlies get relief and those on holiday enjoy themselves.
Good morning,
A very wet day here, but thankfully, not cold.
Sending thoughts and best wishes to Marydoll , Urmstongran and all others with health issues themselves or worries about the health of loved ones.
A cute picture of the boys Bellasnana. I hope they enjoyed nursery.
Enjoy your holidays, all of you who are away.
Bellasnana I didn't see that photo earlier. How gorgeous!!
And best wishes to you and DH Urms. Such hard times I know but the darkness brightened by the comfort of knowing you have the best team supporting you xxx
an absolutely miserable raining cats and dogs days here in North yorkshire. Rotten night with my back but that has improved as I have been to Thirsk swimming. It really helps as you can loosen off a bit in water and not be in so much pain. Then had to get a bit of shopping but my wretched computer is not working properly and I dont know what gmail have done so am off to take it to a friend and hope they can sort me out. I feel like throwing it out of the window!! There are various messages that I am waiting for and it wont let me go into my email account. Grr! Not being my day. Today is the first day of the Great Yorkshire Show, so sadly they are having a very wet start. However we are made of sterner stuff round here and wont let some rain stop us enjoying the show. When I was very young I thought that the show was put on for my benefit as my birthday is July 10th . so we always went to the show to meet farming relations and of course I loved the horses best. Sadly couldnt manage to walk round today. Ah well hope that they all have a good day, and that at least the lengthy amount of rain will definitely give all the gardens a good soak and save us watering the gardens. fingers crossed the weather will improve.
