Good Morning Everyone ,
its dry but cloudy here at the moment in brackley this morning.
My usual routine of bus to Bicester , hopefully a coffee break followed by a supermarket visit , again hope to meet and chat with people I know.
\otherwise , health is Ok at present .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning Mick cloudy here as well, but dry, I can’t go out and see how warm or cold it is as the dog is asleep, once I wake her up she will want to go out and it’s a bit early for me.

Not much planned today, take MzOops to the bus to go and catch her train, then a shopping delivery later.

MissOops has fetched more clothes so she is obviously planning to be here for a while.

House was good but a few cracks that need to be investigated before we go any further with the purchase.

Have a good day everyone, I’ll try to get back and catch up with all your news later.

RosesandLilac Thu 11-Jul-24 05:52:38

Good morning Mick, it’s dry here too in south Glos.
Annoyingly I have been awake for hours, no idea why 🙄. I have an echocardiogram appointment at lunchtime so a trek into town today. I will probably drive to the outskirts and go in by bus; parking at the hospital is horrendous and expensive.
I might go early and have a wander around the shops, I’ve only been there once since lockdown, I prefer to shop online.
Yesterday my new cushions for my Ercol settee arrived, I am absolutely delighted, the company in Bristol has done a brilliant job.
DH says he needs to inflate his blasted kayak in the living room again today - I am so sorely tempted to stab it with a carving knife…….🤬
Anyway, at least it should be dry today so I will change the bed and get the washing out on the line before I go and do some gardening when I get back.
Have a lovely day 🌹

Good morning from a calm and sunny Torbay.

We tried to make a day trip to St. Austell by bus and train yesterday but abandoned that plan due to traffic chaos in Torquay delaying us on the first leg and went to Teignmouth instead, so we made something of DH’s last day in the UK as he travels home today.

Belated anniversary greetings to the Gingsters.
Get well wishes to Taichinan.
Happy holidays to Georgesgran and to harrigran: it sounds like an idyllic setting where you are.
I expect the twins were tired after nursery, Bellasnana and hope they'll settle into it.
I hope Mizuna coped on her first outing.
Good news, Marydoll.

Enjoy whatever you do! 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

grandMattie Thu 11-Jul-24 06:07:09

Good morning from a bright Bristol; long may it last!
Bon voyage to oldd. The twins may have realised that playgroup/school was their first day of, for them, endless education…. I hope MD is feeling a bit better.
My busy day yesterday exhausted me, and I fell asleep in front of the tv not long after I got home in the mid afternoon.
To day, I plan on going to town to get some more fabric. The jersey top I made from the online course is lovely, so I may make one today for DD as well. And a dress for myself using the came pattern.
Dinner at DD and staying on to be with the girls while their parents are at various meetings.
Perhaps today will bring some warmth and cheer - my little plants are bringing much colour and pleasure to the complex.
Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning all from a dull and windy start to the day here on the east coast of Fife.
My gardener has removed most of the weeds (thistles and sticky willies included) from my back garden in preparation for my family BBQ, fingers crossed for a good dry day

Thinking of you all ❤️❤️

Bonnybanko Thu 11-Jul-24 06:14:39

Oh and I wore a striped jumper yesterday. 🤣🤣

baubles Thu 11-Jul-24 06:35:59

Good morning all from very dull South Lanarkshire.

I’ve an appointment with the dental hygienist this morning, a new one as my hygienist has just gone on maternity leave. I do hope he’s just as considerate of my dislike of the procedure.

Safe travels to those on the move today. Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Grandmabatty Thu 11-Jul-24 06:39:05

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 12° and dull. RosesandLilac is there a reason the kayak has to be inflated indoors? Bellasnana I'm sure the boys will settle. It might take a while though. Scapa I didn't know Dobbies did treacle scones! A wee visit to Stirling is required.
Yesterday was a quiet day as I suspected. With the mayhem of road resurfacing, I wasn't going out. I pottered about the house and the garden for a while because the forecast rain didn't arrive.
Today I'm meeting an ex colleague friend for breakfast. She's just recovered from her third bout of covid, so it's still very much around. I'll have to leave early as the direct route is impassable because of the road works. It might sound like a moan, but I'm really glad that the council are fixing the roads here. We have many potholes to the detriment of tyres. Tonight is definitely a salad night. Have a good day all.

karmalady Thu 11-Jul-24 06:56:14

Good morning from s somerset, it promises to be a lovely sunny day

I was very busy yesterday but it was very satisfying. I had a little relaxing time, via youtube, watching a lovely older countryman teaching horses to drive carts in rubber bits on main roads and lanes. My go-to viewing right now

Sweep is coming today, I like to get the essentials done early also a very heavy parcel is being picked up today. All the way to Scotland

I picked some blueberries an hour ago and it is starting to feel autumnal. No other plans for today, except to mix a batch of muesli and blanch some lovely potatoes now that the ice cubes are frozen.

Have a good day

Bellasnana Thu 11-Jul-24 07:09:52

Good morning from Malta where it is very hot and we have got a power cut so no fan or a/c. Glad I’m going out with DD3 soon!

Apparently the boys had cried all morning yesterday. When one stopped the other started. It breaks my heart. I’m old fashioned and don’t think they should be bundled off to strangers when they are so little. I kept my own four at home until I had to send them and they have all turned out fine.

Roses best of luck at the hospital. I’m sorry to say I laughed out loud at you wanting to stab the kayak with a knife!😂. I’d feel the same.

Wishing a good day to you all.☀️

Mizuna Thu 11-Jul-24 07:10:30

Good morning from a sunny Cornwall, hopefully not too warm as the day progresses. I got as far as a little café down the hill yesterday and enjoyed a pot of tea and a chocolate brownie, and was tired when I got back. Walking the Pilgrim's Way (across Cornwall) deferred till next week then. 🤣

This morning my youngest son is collecting a load of prescriptions for me and we can talk football when he comes. Late afternoon my other son is bringing my granddaughter over for fish and chips. We're missing each other desperately. The photo of us isn't recent but it brings back memories.

kittylester Thu 11-Jul-24 07:18:16

Good morning all from a cloudy North Leicestershire.

I am meeting a couple of friends for lunch in a local pub that has just opened a deli on the premises. DH has a volunteer drive.

Our gardener is coming at some stage - the garden is in dire need of her attention.

Have the best day possible everyone.

brook2704 Thu 11-Jul-24 07:19:04

Good morning everyone from Inverness where we’ve grey clouds but at least it’s stopped raining after yesterdays deluge
We’ve got to take the car in for a service first thing so I’ll do a bit of shopping in town whilst we wait. DH was very happy with the football result last night, well done England. That’ll be Sunday evening taken care of too!
Hoping your appointment goes well today Roses, keep calm with the kayak!
Safe travels to your DH Ash and everyone else on the move today
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

GrannyGravy13 Thu 11-Jul-24 07:23:12

Morning all the sky is blue yippee!

What a relief, England are through to the final of the Euro’s ⚽️⚽️⚽️

I am off to get my hair cut and highlighted this morning, then hopefully stop for a coffee at my friend’s tea shop.

Making the most of my free time before six weeks of Granny duty for various GC.

Bellasnana it’s heartbreaking when little ones start nursery, give them time to settle, soon they will be crying when they have to leave nursery and their little friends.

Have a good day everyone 🙋‍♀️

NanKate Thu 11-Jul-24 07:25:48

Good morning Mick and All from a sunny South Bucks.

Packing up today for our holiday tomorrow in the lovely New Forest. We have never had bad weather there, but I suspect we will be wearing our wet weather gear a lot in this coming week. We are happy to frequent cafes and enjoy nosing around the town of Lymington nearby and eating fish and chips on the quay. Simple pleasures.

Gingster Thu 11-Jul-24 07:27:56

Good morning and it’s sunny here in Essex.
Thankyou for all your anniversary wishes. We had a nice day !

We received photos of dgd1’s graduation yesterday. She looked ‘just the ticket’. 👩‍🎓.

I’m sure the boys will settle Bellasnanna . Just takes a little time. 👬.

Mizuna lovely photo . I’m glad your ‘trip’ out went well. Take it easy today. Baby steps.

School run and bowls today.

Take care 🌸

Good morning everyone from a cloudy and damp Northampton, but drying up later.

Spent yesterday morning giving the en-suite a good clean, then after lunch hopped on the bus to the well-being cafe. Quite a lot of people there and many comments of long time no see! Enjoyed cake and coffee and finished the second sleeve of a cardigan I seem to have been knitting for ever.

Dust removal in the sitting room this morning, then a Sainsbury's delivery. After lunch shall get the bus to our little retail park, have a coffee and do a top-up shop. (And have a browse round Next and Sainsbury's clothes...)

Have a good day everyone.

Ladyleftfieldlover Thu 11-Jul-24 07:41:33

Morning all from Devon.

It didn’t rain yesterday and was a beautiful day. We went to Agatha Christie’s house which was impressive. A sandwich lunch in the outdoor cafe and back in time for the football.

It is our last day here as we have to leave by 10 am tomorrow. We will drive to a fairly old castle. A light lunch and back for a swim. We have dinner booked at a pub down the road which is in walking distance.

Have a good day, especially those of you with difficulties.

Greyduster Thu 11-Jul-24 07:43:35

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a rather damp, cool South Yorkshire. Had a new double glazed unit fitted in one of the bedroom windows yesterday morning so that puts all my windows back in good fettle now. We were rather a small writer’s group yesterday and spent some time critiquing old stuff as no-one had prepared anything new. Next week’s theme is “loyalty and betrayal”! Blimey! A slight change in schedule means that I am volunteering at school this afternoon as tomorrow is their sports and gala day.
Mizuna you sound as if you’re making very good progress!👏
Safe travels to olddudders, Ash!
Have the best day you can, folks.

Gala Thu 11-Jul-24 07:44:29

Good morning from a sodden Sefton. Trying to remind myself that it may be July but we are a damp little island off Northern Europe & global warming means getting wetter not warmer.
Had a good night's sleep after a very busy day yesterday. It makes such a difference to one's general well being so I am raring to get going on my Zumba class in a couple of hours. Then a visit to the fish man's van which will involve queuing in the rain quickly followed by a, no doubt, soggy supermarket shop. Must remember to dress appropriately. Not sure why I bothered digging out my summer wardrobe.
Safe travels to all those out & about & may we all find some 🌞 somewhere in any shape or form today.

luluaugust Thu 11-Jul-24 07:46:54

Good morning from a sunny W Kent. Off to art group this morning after early visit to the tip. DH entertaining the gardener as usual. Hoping to get in another walk later.
Mizuna glad you have got that first outing done.
RosesandLilac hope the appointment goes well
Best wishes to all

Marydoll Thu 11-Jul-24 07:47:07

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is 11°C.

I've had a dreadful night, more discombobulating terrors. Foolishly, I had thought the effects of the new meds were lessening.
At least I can'n quite remember them, it's just a hazy memory.

Mizuna, what a lovely photo.

We have Dollie in about 15 minutes. DH will go and pick her up, because DIL sounded rather stressed last night. A trip down to Irvine harbourside is planned, so we will be scooting (scootering) about, as Dollie puts it. Lots of room for her scooter.
No hills to exhaust me and it should be quiet. She doesn't know yet, but we will also take her to McDonald's for a treat.

Roses count yourself fortunate. Mr MD would have kept it inflated for days, until his task was complete!

Yesterday I heard the doorbell ring and Mr MD staggered in with a huge box.
I have treated you, he said. 💕💕💕💕💕
No, he hadn't!!!! 😡
It was a robot vacuum cleaner, which to his great excitement, allegedly also washes floors!
I don't need a robot, for Mr MD does the vacuuming. The vacuum cleaner is too heavy for me and it leaves me breathless. Does he think I came up the Clyde on a bike? 😉
He spent the whole afternoon, playing with it. I have nicknamed it, Babydoll, because it followed me everywhere and I kept tripping over it.😡

Relating the tale of his antics yesterday of painting the ceiling and grouting all of the ceramic tile floors, I will leave for another day. The bathrooms were unaccessable, but trying telling that to my weak bladder!😉

Enjoy your day folks. Good luck with the echo, Roses and Baubles, I can emphasis.

I need to go. Mr MD is on hiss way back and I haven't made Dollie's breakfast pancakes,

Grammaretto Thu 11-Jul-24 08:04:49

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. I've emptied 5 full buckets of water from my sitting room but it's not raining today. yet

I watched sewing bee and a bit of football ⚽️ just enough of the latter to see the winning goal. Quite a moment.

I'll be taking my cousin grave visiting today on what would have been DH's birthday.
Then we'll deliver pottery to an exhibition in Haddington.
Autocorrect wrote Thailand

I like your photo and ambition Mizuna

I'm sorry those boys are crying at nursery Bellasnanna They'll be missing you but they have eachother.
Crying is probably better than not showing any emotion.

Have the best day you can everyone.

harrigran Thu 11-Jul-24 08:06:27

Good morning from Lincolnshire, grey and with a forecast for more rain.
Yesterday was a wasted day, DS and three teenagers went out walking, DIL and I went in car and met them in village for lunch. When we arrived the Inn was not open so DIL drove DS back to the cottage to get his car as we all needed to get back and eat. Too far for the youngsters to walk back.
DS's car was showing loss of pressure in back tyre, just what we needed, a puncture.
DS rang round and found a garage and all the family went off in two cars leaving me to read my book. Mechanic said tyre was split so car in garage until this afternoon.
DIL returned with nice things from the Deli in Louth and we ate well after missing our lunch out.
After dinner DIL, GD2 and I went for a little walk down the lane from the cottage where there is a huge duck pond. I have ñever seen so many ducks and geese in one pond.
No plans yet for today.

Hope your day is a good one.
