Thank you Jax if we didn’t live in the Chilterns and we were younger we would move to the NF. 👋

A very late good morning to all. Sorry I'm so late today - just surfaced after an excellent night's sleep. I truly can't remember when I last slept a whole night without once waking!!
Anyway I shall now read all your posts and hope all are feeling their best, and happy. Take care x

Good morning from a sunny Malaga - a weather warning for heat!
DD2 has coughed all night and woken with a chesty cold. We’ll go out for a wander then bag an umbrella on the roof terrace.
I’m sorry that I’m finding the kayak story amusing rose is your DH planning to do a John Darwin?
MD hoping for a better day.
Best wishes to all. X

Good morning Mick and all from a damp northwest coast.
Useful day yesterday with DD, taking lots of stuff to the charity shop, then a bit of general shopping.

She went off to a friend’s birthday party in the evening and I watched England 👏 and then was irritated that my DGD had logged into my ITVX and somehow arranged it so I now cannot locate the subtitles, which I really need…

Would like to put my washing out, but where is the sun?
Out for a meal at a new restaurant tonight, only time they have is 5, rather early but I’m looking forward to it.

You must be really looking forward to getting out and about again Mizuna, I know you are not a stay at home, hello Cookie1970 and thoughts to Liberty🌺

monk08 Thu 11-Jul-24 10:17:02

Welcome Cookie1970 👋 look forward to reading more about you.

Morning and welcome Cookie

Good morning from West Sussex.. It’s forecast sunny and I have a friend coming down from London for a day at the seaside.

I have just finished a 3 day course of antibiotics - hope the nausea and general yuckiness will wear off soon.

That’s hard for your friend, monk08, losing a nephew of pretty much her own generation.

Sorry to hear about your sister, Liberty. I hope she can get some effective treatment.

Bellasnana, I used to think children should stay at home until at least 3 years old but having seen the various gcs go to nursery I can see the benefits of socialising with other children. Once they get used to the nursery routine and get to know the staff, they will probably enjoy it. It’s hard for you when you’ve spent so much time ensuring happy days at home, though.

Welcome, Cookie1970. I look forward to reading more about you - where you are and how you spend your days 🙂

Cookie1970 Thu 11-Jul-24 09:20:00

Good morning I'm new to this site hope you are all doing well

GrannySomerset Thu 11-Jul-24 09:13:28

A fine morning and an empty awaits so light weeding and reading should fill the day nicely though it still doesn’t feel like summer. Sorry that Marydoll is still so unwell and hope that a day with the positive Dollie helps lift her spirits. My Dollie equivalent is still a joy at 21 and rings for a chat which I value so much.

EkwaNimitee Thu 11-Jul-24 08:27:48

Good morning Mick and everyone from grey Carlisle. No doubt it will rain sooner or later.

Yesterday I gave in and contacted my surgery and got a cancellation for the afternoon...with an actual doctor. No antibiotics yet, I'd rather not anyway. Now I'm booked for a fasting blood test but it's a month away. I suppose he's trying to rule out diabetes but I'm not. It will all come back saying my body is in perfect nick as it usually does!

So onwards and upwards....I'm about to go into town to collect a prescription and to shop for the weekend for my visitors.
I am now not so looking forward to it. They will want to be watching the football and I so loath it. Plus I shall be wanting to watch the Tour with its interesting stages this weekend.. We may have to bargain....At least they won't be bringing a kayak to inflate in my sitting room.! You have my sympathies Rose.

I hope you all have a good day.

monk08 Thu 11-Jul-24 08:24:57

Good morning all from an overcast Black country rain due later.
Had some sad news yesterday, my friends nephew had died being only 5yrs younger than her he was more like a brother than nephew.
Shopping today and maybe some ironing.
Best wishes anyone celebrating, safe travels those on the move and virtual hugs where needed.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

Morning from a sunny S Hants, what a game last night 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿, Sunday here we come.
gMattie I too thought the twins might have realised nursery wasn’t just a random day out.
Well done Mizuna go steady though! I’ll wave NanKate the NF is half an hour away from us, enjoy your break.
Bedding to wash, weeds to be pulled and a couple of phone calls to make, beef casserole for dinner.

Good morning from a slightly sunny Suffolk after a much better day than expected. No rain and the gardener cut all the grass and did a tidy up.

Gingster belated best wishes for your wedding anniversary yesterday.

I’m off to my stretch class shortly and then having coffee with an old friend who used to be in that and the Keep fit classes before she moved back to Essex a few months ago to be nearer her family after she was widowed. She is back in Suffolk for a few days and joining the class this morning. It will be lovely to see her and catch up in person.

Another friend is organising a Cornish cream tea event this afternoon with proceeds for the NSPCC in a local town which we will support and where we’ll catch up with people we know.

I’ve just made arrangement to travel to Bradfordvtomorrow to visit my sister who was taken into hospital on Monday as an emergency. After spending 28 hours in A&E she is now on a ward . She has been unwell for more than a year now but remains cheerful and positive. How I don’t know.

I’m going by train and will stay overnight as the journey is 4 hours and involves a couple of changes after my DH has dropped me off at a station an hour away. I did the journey by train in a day when she was in hospital last year but it’s just too tiring.

Good morning from Lincolnshire, grey and with a forecast for more rain.
Yesterday was a wasted day, DS and three teenagers went out walking, DIL and I went in car and met them in village for lunch. When we arrived the Inn was not open so DIL drove DS back to the cottage to get his car as we all needed to get back and eat. Too far for the youngsters to walk back.
DS's car was showing loss of pressure in back tyre, just what we needed, a puncture.
DS rang round and found a garage and all the family went off in two cars leaving me to read my book. Mechanic said tyre was split so car in garage until this afternoon.
DIL returned with nice things from the Deli in Louth and we ate well after missing our lunch out.
After dinner DIL, GD2 and I went for a little walk down the lane from the cottage where there is a huge duck pond. I have ñever seen so many ducks and geese in one pond.
No plans yet for today.

Hope your day is a good one.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. I've emptied 5 full buckets of water from my sitting room but it's not raining today. yet

I watched sewing bee and a bit of football ⚽️ just enough of the latter to see the winning goal. Quite a moment.

I'll be taking my cousin grave visiting today on what would have been DH's birthday.
Then we'll deliver pottery to an exhibition in Haddington.
Autocorrect wrote Thailand

I like your photo and ambition Mizuna

I'm sorry those boys are crying at nursery Bellasnanna They'll be missing you but they have eachother.
Crying is probably better than not showing any emotion.

Have the best day you can everyone.

Marydoll Thu 11-Jul-24 07:47:07

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is 11°C.

I've had a dreadful night, more discombobulating terrors. Foolishly, I had thought the effects of the new meds were lessening.
At least I can'n quite remember them, it's just a hazy memory.

Mizuna, what a lovely photo.

We have Dollie in about 15 minutes. DH will go and pick her up, because DIL sounded rather stressed last night. A trip down to Irvine harbourside is planned, so we will be scooting (scootering) about, as Dollie puts it. Lots of room for her scooter.
No hills to exhaust me and it should be quiet. She doesn't know yet, but we will also take her to McDonald's for a treat.

Roses count yourself fortunate. Mr MD would have kept it inflated for days, until his task was complete!

Yesterday I heard the doorbell ring and Mr MD staggered in with a huge box.
I have treated you, he said. 💕💕💕💕💕
No, he hadn't!!!! 😡
It was a robot vacuum cleaner, which to his great excitement, allegedly also washes floors!
I don't need a robot, for Mr MD does the vacuuming. The vacuum cleaner is too heavy for me and it leaves me breathless. Does he think I came up the Clyde on a bike? 😉
He spent the whole afternoon, playing with it. I have nicknamed it, Babydoll, because it followed me everywhere and I kept tripping over it.😡

Relating the tale of his antics yesterday of painting the ceiling and grouting all of the ceramic tile floors, I will leave for another day. The bathrooms were unaccessable, but trying telling that to my weak bladder!😉

Enjoy your day folks. Good luck with the echo, Roses and Baubles, I can emphasis.

I need to go. Mr MD is on hiss way back and I haven't made Dollie's breakfast pancakes,

luluaugust Thu 11-Jul-24 07:46:54

Good morning from a sunny W Kent. Off to art group this morning after early visit to the tip. DH entertaining the gardener as usual. Hoping to get in another walk later.
Mizuna glad you have got that first outing done.
RosesandLilac hope the appointment goes well
Best wishes to all

Gala Thu 11-Jul-24 07:44:29

Good morning from a sodden Sefton. Trying to remind myself that it may be July but we are a damp little island off Northern Europe & global warming means getting wetter not warmer.
Had a good night's sleep after a very busy day yesterday. It makes such a difference to one's general well being so I am raring to get going on my Zumba class in a couple of hours. Then a visit to the fish man's van which will involve queuing in the rain quickly followed by a, no doubt, soggy supermarket shop. Must remember to dress appropriately. Not sure why I bothered digging out my summer wardrobe.
Safe travels to all those out & about & may we all find some 🌞 somewhere in any shape or form today.

Greyduster Thu 11-Jul-24 07:43:35

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a rather damp, cool South Yorkshire. Had a new double glazed unit fitted in one of the bedroom windows yesterday morning so that puts all my windows back in good fettle now. We were rather a small writer’s group yesterday and spent some time critiquing old stuff as no-one had prepared anything new. Next week’s theme is “loyalty and betrayal”! Blimey! A slight change in schedule means that I am volunteering at school this afternoon as tomorrow is their sports and gala day.
Mizuna you sound as if you’re making very good progress!👏
Safe travels to olddudders, Ash!
Have the best day you can, folks.

Ladyleftfieldlover Thu 11-Jul-24 07:41:33

Morning all from Devon.

It didn’t rain yesterday and was a beautiful day. We went to Agatha Christie’s house which was impressive. A sandwich lunch in the outdoor cafe and back in time for the football.

It is our last day here as we have to leave by 10 am tomorrow. We will drive to a fairly old castle. A light lunch and back for a swim. We have dinner booked at a pub down the road which is in walking distance.

Have a good day, especially those of you with difficulties.

BlueSapphire Thu 11-Jul-24 07:38:55

Good morning everyone from a cloudy and damp Northampton, but drying up later.

Spent yesterday morning giving the en-suite a good clean, then after lunch hopped on the bus to the well-being cafe. Quite a lot of people there and many comments of long time no see! Enjoyed cake and coffee and finished the second sleeve of a cardigan I seem to have been knitting for ever.

Dust removal in the sitting room this morning, then a Sainsbury's delivery. After lunch shall get the bus to our little retail park, have a coffee and do a top-up shop. (And have a browse round Next and Sainsbury's clothes...)

Have a good day everyone.

Gingster Thu 11-Jul-24 07:27:56

Good morning and it’s sunny here in Essex.
Thankyou for all your anniversary wishes. We had a nice day !

We received photos of dgd1’s graduation yesterday. She looked ‘just the ticket’. 👩‍🎓.

I’m sure the boys will settle Bellasnanna . Just takes a little time. 👬.

Mizuna lovely photo . I’m glad your ‘trip’ out went well. Take it easy today. Baby steps.

School run and bowls today.

Take care 🌸

NanKate Thu 11-Jul-24 07:25:48

Good morning Mick and All from a sunny South Bucks.

Packing up today for our holiday tomorrow in the lovely New Forest. We have never had bad weather there, but I suspect we will be wearing our wet weather gear a lot in this coming week. We are happy to frequent cafes and enjoy nosing around the town of Lymington nearby and eating fish and chips on the quay. Simple pleasures.

GrannyGravy13 Thu 11-Jul-24 07:23:12

Morning all the sky is blue yippee!

What a relief, England are through to the final of the Euro’s ⚽️⚽️⚽️

I am off to get my hair cut and highlighted this morning, then hopefully stop for a coffee at my friend’s tea shop.

Making the most of my free time before six weeks of Granny duty for various GC.

Bellasnana it’s heartbreaking when little ones start nursery, give them time to settle, soon they will be crying when they have to leave nursery and their little friends.

Have a good day everyone 🙋‍♀️

brook2704 Thu 11-Jul-24 07:19:04

Good morning everyone from Inverness where we’ve grey clouds but at least it’s stopped raining after yesterdays deluge
We’ve got to take the car in for a service first thing so I’ll do a bit of shopping in town whilst we wait. DH was very happy with the football result last night, well done England. That’ll be Sunday evening taken care of too!
Hoping your appointment goes well today Roses, keep calm with the kayak!
Safe travels to your DH Ash and everyone else on the move today
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
