After a lovely late meal, DD2 has coughed most of the night, so we’re off to a late start with few plans, because of the heat.
I get that ‘eye thing’ too, looks scary, feels a bit gritty, but clears in a couple of weeks.

Morning from sunny (at long last) South Lanarkshire. No rain forecast so I’ll risk hanging out a washing before I leave to meet two friends for lunch. One of them is the friend who tripped and broke her hip when we were out before. She’s doing very well walking with two sticks and we’re risking a run in the car to somewhere nice.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who takes ‘five more minutes’ which turns into at least an hour BlueSaphire!

Ash what a shock, I’m sure it will be resolved, I just hope without too much hassle. I was thinking about you when I watched a programme about Devon and Cornwall the night before last. Your area looks absolutely beautiful, I would love to live by the sea.

Good morning from an overcast W Kent. So sorry to read of all the money and health worries, I hope things start to get sorted out as the day goes on. I have had the bloodshot eye on a number of occasions and remember being told that it was probably stress ?!
A quiet day today, I must reassemble the oven which decided it wanted cleaning yesterday and then seeing in GS5 this afternoon and hopefully a short catch up with his mum who is delighted she has been given a different year group for next year.

Sorted out an exploding cupboard yesterday and very pleased with it, I’m rather a hoarder, so this is a new phase for me.

Lovely meal in the evening with DD at new local restaurant, only open a week and a friend’s daughter was waitressing so nice to see her. The decor is lovely and not bland minimalistic, which I dislike.

This morning to have mybabscessed tooth extracted, my worry is is will break up my bridgework and I could have a missing front tooth, aargh. Very witch like. I’ve just had a glass of sherry for Dutch courage and I’m not driving 😁-DD is coming with me before she leaves for the south, which I appreciate. She’d picking up her new car this afternoon so has to get away.

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny 🌞Northampton, a lovely blue sky overhead.
Woke up at 7.15, thought I'd just have 5 more minutes, next time I looked at the clock it was nearly 9 o'clock!
So not got long this morning as dance classes start at 10.30!

Got lots of things done yesterday morning at home including dusting and polishing the sitting room, and a load of washing, then after lunch did my top-up shop. Came home with new jeans in a lovely rust colour from the Next sale. I already have 4 or 5 pairs in the same style in different colours so it was a nice bonus to get these at less than half price! They fit so well and are very comfortable.

Will be an afternoon of doing not very much after dance classes; will probably read - and go on line to pay the plumber, whose bill has just arrived. It was a pleasant surprise, as it was less than half of what I was expecting.

Hope Friday is kind to all of us.

Good morning Mick and all from a sunny (but decidedly chilly) start on the Angus coast. It looks decidedly autumnal out there.
Anyway, the bed is stripped and the washing machine is in action - and my fingers are crossed for no rain!
That bill would have scared me to death Ash! I hope it's resolved soon. Likewise your eye grandmattie. And your neighbour gingster. What a chapter of accidents this morning!
Nothing of moment to report from me except for a letter from the Health Authority advising my practice has given notice of closure as of 29 November. But not to worry "I shall be allocated to another practice before that". When you think how overburdened all doctors' practices are these days it can only mean more 'overburdening' for the rest, with a commensurate decrease in service. A sign of the times. I don't envy Starmer his shoes, that's for sure!
DD will be up here this weekend to spend it with her girls to remember their daddy's birthday, so I shall have a quick meet-up with them in Perth tomorrow which will be lovely.
Otherwise just a quiet time.

Good morning Mick and everyone from brightish Carlisle.

Yesterday was busy, preparing for my visitors. I went into town to collect a prescription and then did a shop in M&S food hall. An assistant stood by the door informing shoppers that the card readers weren't working. Now normally I'm a belt and braces person, I carry a decent amount of cash as well as my card in case of just this eventuality but this was the day I didn't!
A quick trip to the ATM ensued. The assistant told me card readers were out all over the city and working very intermittently. Bad news for all the traders.

I will have to get a hustle on. A chance WhatsApp message from DS2 re footie led to the discovery that DS1 was arriving today! I try to adopt a laid back attitude to life these days but .....!

Some of you certainly have your problems today, I second that comment about maybe getting a second opinion Grammaretto?

grandMattie I had that happen very frightening I went straight to the eye hospital, they checked me over and the consultant referred me to GP for bloods and a blood pressure check. Mine was 2 days before Halloween so DH said if anyone knocked the door I was to poke my head round frighten them off.
Just a local shop and start a new book.

Much sympathy Ash. When we worked on caravan sites in the SW there were always problems with SW Water both on site & generally in the area, including sewage into the sea at the surfing beaches at Godfrey, A big problem even then 20+ years ago. They obviously haven't improved. Still hopeless.

Good morning from a dull but dry Sefton. Two zoom exercise classes this morning, a bit of a tidy in the back garden as it's dry then the rest of the day at leisure I think. Been a bit creakyn& feeling my age this week.

Lovely group walk yesterday, with coffee and chat in cafe at the end. It is a friendly and welcoming group.

No real plans today, probably some housework. Tonight I am on a fish n chips canal trip with a ladies group I belong to. there will be a singer for our entertainment.

Receiving a bill like that Ashcombe is a heart stopping moment! Hope it is cleared up quickly.

Hugs to all of you with buggerations and bothers, I hope they’re all resolved quickly.
Yesterday I trekked to the hospital for my echocardiogram, I was the only one in the waiting room, I went in ten minutes early and was out waiting for the bus 30 minutes later, so a very impressive progress!
I did wander around M&S and I bought a tee shirt. It’s only the second time I have been into town since lockdown; to be honest, apart from tourists, it seemed quite quiet, not the crowds I’d expected. I doubt I will go again any time soon.
I’m meeting a friend for coffee this morning, she has a lovely puppy so I’m taking some of Annie’s toys that she’s grown out of.
I hope today goes well for you 🌹

Good morning from a grey but dry Lincolnshire.
Yesterday was cold and wet all day.
DS and DIL went off to collect DS's car then the family went off to Tattershall Castle without me, too many steps to climb apparently.
Today the family are off to Lincoln again, DIL and three teenagers are going to do a Harry Potter escape room experience. I will be staying home again.

grandM, your eye sounds alarming. Dr Google is not always your friend so perhaps you ought to take Marydoll’s wise counsel to visit an optician just to be onthe safe side.

Gingster your poor sons and DD, I hope they will feel better soon and that you do too. Sounds like quite a drama with your neighbours too! Hope nobody is badly hurt.

The boys did a bit better yesterday, thank goodness. I really have felt so upset and anxious about them. I’ve looked after them since they were 9 months old and we always had such happy days together. Seeing them upset is so hard.

I will go with DD3 to pick them up again today, after which I have my weekly hairdo then back home for the tennis.

I managed to go to Clark’s yesterday as I’d seen a pair of sandals I liked. Was thrilled to find they were on sale so I bought two for the price of one! Not often I bag a bargain!😄

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. 10°C. Really? This is supposed to be Summer.

Yesterday went very well. Introducing the cousins at the cemetery where their ancestors are buried, followed by coffee at a nearby hotel seemed an apt way to celebrate DH's birth date. In the evening we enjoyed an Indian meal although the Edinburgh restaurant was so busy, we had to wait an hour to be seated.

What nasty shocks Ash and gMattie!! May you make speedy recoveries.

Although not yet repaired, I should receive some insurance money for the ceiling if not the roof. Thanks Grandmabatty for your advice.

Work this morning and the preview of our pottery exhibition tonight.
