What are you up to today?

You've been very busy on behalf of other people. Hope they are all grateful for your efforts kircubbin.

I am just getting over a humdinger of a cold and noticing all the jobs I haven't done over the last week so today I will be trying to catch up.

I have done a wash load and cleaned the bathroom. I’m now sitting with a coffee after a late breakfast. After lunch I need to ring my dad then collect my grandson from school and bring him here for a couple of hours.
I’m also trying to book in the diary a date for meet ups (separately) with a couple of friends and keep getting WhatsApp messages from another group of friends. Oh for the days before mobile phones!

I am looking after my one year old granddaughter. I sleep well on Tuesdays!

I’ve cleaned the bathroom, done a load of washing, tidied the kitchen, fed the dog and put our lunch on.
DH will walk the dog later. My get-up-and-go has got-up-and-gone now….🙄

Deadheading my corn marigold, corn camomile, ox eye daisies, and field poppies to be dried and used for next years wild flower garden. The bees love them and I love the bees. Best time of day for me is first thing in the morning or last thing at night when the bees are busy in the garden.

DH has slipped a disc and isn't coping very well to say the least. I'm running up and down fetching and carrying, getting prescriptions and preparing food and drinks that he's grudgingly willing to eat. He's really suffering very noisily and has zero patience. I've had to cancel everything this week as I can't leave him like this. I'm trying to get him out of bed as I know that it's important to but it seems impossible. I just don't know what to do next ☹️

I walked down to Lidl I wanted some nuts and seeds to add to my cereal bumped into my next door neighbour and had the longest chat we’ve ever had on the walk home.
Then I’ve had to clean out my drains, kitchen and the rainwater drain I noticed the rainwater drain was overflowing yesterday. Turns out when my GSs cleaned my driveway last week they had washed all the sand into the drain blocking it, so rubber gloves, trowel, hosepipe and bucket of hot Jeyes fluid later they are all clean and smelling lovely 🤣. Now for a cuppa.

I rose early to feed and water our retriever (who always happily welcomes the new day by rolling and wriggling in the grass with legs in the air - it's a lovely sight). Then, the ritual of medicines and potions for my various bothersome ailments/conditions. No breakfast as YogaYay! morning on Tuesdays. I arrived there with a painful neck and shoulder (had it 5 days) and floated home with much less pain after following my body's lead! Happy Tuesday all.

I've done my washing but I'm putting it in the tumble dryer as thunderstorms are forecast for this afternoon, and the clouds are building up as I write.
I am planning to crochet some more of my jumper and try it for fit. I'll have to find my stitch markers as I've got to divide for the arm holes. It's crocheted from the top down.

I'm on the train back from Glasgow after visiting the Swatch shop, where they fitted a new battery free of charge and polished the watch face. Great service.
I also popped into JL, but suprisingly didn't buy anything, despite seeing lots of things I liked!
After months of looking for a specific household item, I unexpectedly came across it
in a sale at half price with an additional 15% off. I am well chuffed!
However, as usual I have overdone things, it will be an afternoon of rest.

Woke about 3.45am with my back and my knees hurting quite a lot. couldnt get back to sleep, tried but didnt work and then read for a little while. Gave up and put washing on, got back ready and went swimming, there by 7am. Struggled with swimming but am pleased I made the effort, It does help me to stretch out and get my legs moving properly again, Only did 14 lengths and it was quite an effort, but worth it. Went and had a coffee in cafe nero. Had a look in charity shops but didnt see anything I wanted, Went to check that my rail journey was booked correctly and no bad surprises. Sadly they had problems at the station as there had been a fatality on the line. Very weary now and no great ideas for dinner.

Having done a lot of gardening-I woke up feeling tired and achy .
I've just done basic essentials and am about to go shopping .
I'm wondering if I can face another discussion about my reclusive neighbour's broken fence and the weeds that climb over and go under .
I realised yesterday that time has stood still for nearly 40 years - after he moved in .
Soon his house will be enveloped in thorny brambles .
He's no Prince and I'm not kissing him awake .

I'm between writing projects and in the middle of a massive clearout of my study. Still at the exhausting stage with not much to show for it.
Bit of gardening this afternoon. My wonderful clump of phloxes took a bit of a battering in the rain yesterday.

Carer, taxi service, cleaner is the honest answer

I got up and brought my neighbours bins in, they leave them out for days if I dont bring them in. I swept the drive, did some deadheading of roses and wiped down the windows paintwork. Cut some massive headed hydrangeas for my vases and then it absolutely threw it down.

That brings back memories. I have a Swatch watch from the 80's. It is called a skeletol watch and is very, very thin with a silver strap.

Got back from France at midnight. Slept in until 8.00am, then spent the morning sorting and unpacking the car. Washing is on and lunch has been eaten. Now to follow up and reply to all my emails.

The sun is shining so I have finally managed to finish assembling some garden furniture which had to be done outside as it’s too big to get through the back door. I discovered this to my cost when I had to take the first chair apart after I’d stood back to admire my efforts….and then the penny dropped! 😂

Helped out at our Community fridge and went to the supermarket on the way home. Now going to have a cup of tea and read my book.

Waved goodbye to DH as I went off swimming - he was painting the garage door. Returned 30 seconds later when I realised I was wearing my slippers. Swam 30 lengths, did a bit of food shopping and came home to make lunch. Sorted out various piles of washing and DH went out to try and pick the flies off the wet paintwork. Procrastinated next [puzzles / scrolling / Gransnet] and now I'm going to try and finish a quilt I'm making for our Linus group. Love, love love that I am able and free to spend my days as I wish. Half day volunteering tomorrow and maybe more work on the quilt in the afternoon. Counting my blessings as I go.

15. 45 - Wednesday - 17th of July ..

Just finished lunch a little while ago and now I am off to walk to the Gym ..

Then on return trip home, I shall stop at the Farmer´s Market and pick up some fresh fruits and veggies of the season.

I have done two loads of washing and got them out on the whirly. I cleared out the bottom drawer of the fridge which was pretty gruesome. Then emptied the car boot of clutter, filled the bin with said clutter and cleaned rubbish from inside the car. I weeded the front and back garden. Emptied and loaded the dishwasher. I've also sorted out the car insurance. I've picked lots of lavender and put it in small vases in the bedroom, bathroom and kitchen so the house smells lovely. I need to organise an mot next but I'm prevaricating.

Cleared up my kitchen, hung out washing, washed and dried pots. Did some ironing whilst watching Kings speech. Dusted and hoovered my living room. Brought washing in. Hung out more washing. More jobs this afternoon!

Spent several hours today clearing out very large window boxes, refreshing compost and replanting them.
