Just read an account of what happened in Rotherham in the Guardian, apparently they set fire to the hotel then tried to block the doors. And some got inside chasing asylum seekers, hitting them etc., they were terrified, was one Palestinian fleeing Gaza to encounter this!

Farage has nothing to do with it. Stop blaming him, he only talks sense and asks questions. It isn't to do with race, it is to do with the uncontrolled illegal immigration which we are all paying for, yet us who were born here are overlooked and penalised. Nothing to do with skin colour. There has been two tier policing. There is much more to this than meets the eye. People have had enough. The majority of people protest peacefully and it's shameful they are tarred with the usual 'far-right' tag when all they want is fairness.

Actually I am wondering how Starmer quickly arranged for this lot to be sentenced yet the person who killed the 3 little girls will not be sentenced until the autumn.

I take you are a Guardian reader, to them everyone who does not agree with the are far right, whatever that is supposed to mean.

Very few people on gransnet seem to read widely. The internet allows us to read views from around the world. Gransnet however seems fixated on Brexit with some peculiar ideas about those who voted for it.

Does this mean that Guardian readers do not read widely? It is apparent that in fact many Gransnet readers are extremely well informed and there are many knowledgeable and well argued opinions aired on this site (as well as the odd ignorant one!

Just to be clear, Im not racist so I don't understand racists.

In any large group of people there can be a break away group of nutters, like when Muslims as a whole get blamed for something that a Muslim break off group does- or when Christians as a while get blamed for an abusive Priest... or when any large group is blamed for the actions of a minority group.

So even in the NF brigade there are these- not lone nutters, but organised racist nutters.

I'm not saying these actions speak for all NF supporters, but they do for some.

Different beliefs and values…it’s not rocket science. But it’s too late now. So people have to learn to live together but, human nature being what it is, mostly they don’t. We are stuck with the problems that this has brought upon us which includes terrorism.

There have always been arrangements to deal speedily with rioters, with civil disorder. That’s because it tends to reduce its likelihood.
There is no comparison with that and with mass murder

I cannot understand the mentality of those people , mostly men , causing so much damage in England at the moment. We are all shocked at the murders in Southport but why are they damaging and even looting shops ? This mentality of keeping England for the English is not found in Wales or Scotland but it is found in nothern Ireland . I see them waving flags of Saint George and rioting in so many cities. If the killer of these childen had been say French would they feel the same ? I am sure colour comes into it . I saw someone orchestrating the youths to cause havoc what are their parents thinking they are up to . I must admit I dispair of the mentality of these people .

You live in France? If so am not sure why you are surprised as the French enjoy a riot at the drop of a hat.
There have been riots here on and off about all sorts of things, the poll tax riots, the miners and Tottenham riots to mention but a few.
There’s always a reason even if it’s an underlying one.This time it’s about immigration.

I do not live in France . I pointed out that if the murdered had been from a European country riots would not have happened.

I heard one if the rioting yobs being interviewed ( he was not a youngster ) and he said that he did not mind these people coming over and building mosques in England as long as he could go over a build a mosque in their country. The mind boggles at the ignorance.

It’s not just the UK many countries are much worse, even in Europe, in Africa the clash between different tribes/cultures can be extremely violent.

That’s part of the problem persecution of a minority in many countries is a routine fact of life, so people leave and claim asylum elsewhere.

If you react too harshly you end up with the Tolpuddle Martyrs. It also shows a scared government.

Sir Trevor Phillips wrote a few (8?) years ago about how multi culturalism hasn’t worked well and said it needed a different approach altogether or the problems would increase rather than decrease.He was shouted down by such as Hope Not Hate but actually I think he was correct.
If you google his name and multiculturalism you should find something.He’s a thoughtful intelligent man.
