Just popped in to send Soop and Mr Soop all best wishes. I do hope they can sort Mr Soop’s head out soon.

I used to make jam each summer but don’t any more. I’m seriously impressed with all the jam and chutney making that’s going on in the kitchen . Yum!

So sorry to hear your news, Kalu. I’m so glad he had you by his side at the end. Sending you 💐

SueDonim Tue 27-Aug-24 23:17:36

That sounds quite an ordeal, Soop. I hope there’s something to be done for your dear Mr S. xx
Lovely wedding photo, Yia! Browsing for my dd, there is such a variety of gorgeous dresses now. ❤️
So many of you are so busy with family and gardens and ‘putting down’ supplies for the winter. And people enjoying holidays and days out and so on. It’s lovely to read all your tales.

It’s been busy for me, too. I’ve been gallivanting off to see old friends from where we used to live and doing childcare. Harvest should start any day soon (if it stops raining hmm) so we try to lend dd a hand while her dh is busy on the farm. I’ve tidied the garden, removing the spent runner bean plants and the courgette. I found a hidden cucumber in the other trug, so was pleased to have it in a salad tonight! My tiny tomatoes are going red, I’m not sure if they’ll ever be edible but I’m pleased to have had some success.

I’ve also embarked on yet another decluttering mission. We only moved here two years ago and I’m sure this is the third or fourth time it’s needed decluttering. I don’t know where all this stuff comes from. Maybe Mr Nobody brings it while we’re sleeping.

Sleep tight, everyone. Xxx

Pleased you’re home safe soop, goodness what a journey. Hope things fall into place quickly for mr soop and he’s not too uncomfortable while waiting.

A difficult night here. Hope you’ve all slept well. Thinking especially of everyone with sadness in their lives.

A little giggle for you...this was yesterday's adventure

Only me...I decided to go to Exeter today...I couldn't be bothered to drive and as the return ticket was only £5.20 it was a no brainer. A nice lad moved over so I could sit down..as he did so he says he needed the extra room for his tail...I didn't even blink... He told me he had 3 fur costumes in his case...I made the mistake at that point of asking if he dressed up in them for work...no he replied I identify as an animal...ah says me...hence the tail...a fox maybe? No today I'm a hyena and bunny. It was out of my mouth before I could even stop myself.....'Oh says I...... are you going to scamper off the train or just hop'. Luckily we drew into Exeter Central at that point...I busied myself finding my ticket so I have no idea which it was.....as I say only me.!!!!

neine priceless! It certainly made me giggle.

soop Wed 28-Aug-24 14:46:51

Jax and Yia thank you for sharing your joyful photographs with us lot.

soop Wed 28-Aug-24 15:04:57

A warm welcome to grandMattie. I apologise for not having welcomed you sooner. Right now, I am a tad out of date with the latest happenings in our Kitchen.

Mr Soop is again with the GP. The leaking from the gunge protecting the exposed scalp continues to be a buggeration. It appears that he needs a more substantial dressing.

I cannot concentrate fully. The moment we have notification of the proposed date for his surgery, I shall feel totally positive. It's the waiting and wondering that befuddles me.

Yet again, my heartfelt thanks to you lovely lot for your support and kind messages. Knowing that I can tell you of my hopes and fears helps enormously. flowers

Good afternoon kitchen pals, the sun has been shining here in Inverness and I’ve got lots of the holiday washing done
I’d not planned much today but DD2 messaged inviting us round for tea so we’re off there soon - I’m looking forward to seeing her and the DGC - we’ve missed them !
Fingers crossed soop for a date soon x

Grandmabatty Wed 28-Aug-24 16:38:30

Good afternoon kitcheners from a sunny Polmont. Brook enjoy your catch up with dd and dgc and dinner! Soop I hope Mr Soop is seen sooner than later.
Haircut this morning. My lovely hairdresser popped a free bottle of expensive volumiser shampoo in my handbag. He's so sweet. Then I had a lazy afternoon until half past three when I galvanized into action, hoovered the entire house and made eight jars of raspberry jam. The dishwasher is on too and I did a little desultory weeding. Dinner will be macaroni cheese and chips later. Enjoy your evening

Ladyleftfieldlover Wed 28-Aug-24 18:42:31

Hello kitchen people.

I’m currently relaxing on the sofa with one of the cats. I am full of food! OH and I met friends for lunch at a Lebanese restaurant in the middle of a small village near Chipping Norton. It was all so delicious and everything was made in their kitchen. Even the baklava!

Hopefully Mr Soop will soon get his date at the hospital and Soop can breathe again.

Have a good evening.

Grandmabatty Wed 28-Aug-24 18:45:51

Lebanese food sounds very tasty, Ladyleftfieldlover. I don't think I've ever eaten any though. I'm in half a mind to go and see the new Alien film. I'm a sucker for science fiction and horror at the same time.

GrannyGravy13 Wed 28-Aug-24 18:48:22

Just about to sort dinner (homemade chicken curry)

Went to a lovely working farm with a sectioned off petting zoo with DiL4, GD and GS earlier. You can go into the enclosures, chickens roaming free, guinea pig also.

Farmer and her son on hand to answer any questions. They only allow 20 people at a time, three sessions per day. It was absolutely amazing.

soop your poor man (((hugs)))

I am logging off for today, nightie night 😘

Jaxjacky Wed 28-Aug-24 19:08:48

Hazy here, the weather, not me! Library today, I always like a book on the go, back continues to irritate, it feels fragile Grannmarie I’d be worried slipping at the pool.
Dynamic as always Grandmabatty you’re a mini whirlwind!
We’re off to Worthing in a couple of weeks, for a few days, I’ve booked one restaurant, fish for me, not fish for MrJ, another night we’re curry and quiz, I’m looking forward to the break.

👋 just popping in to say hello. Going to sit quietly in the corner and listen to the chatter

Redcar Wed 28-Aug-24 20:10:52

Still very warm here. soop I do hope that you soon have a date for mr soop’s scalp surgery, it sounds so uncomfortable and such a worry for you.
I picked the last of my dwarf beans today, and pulled out the plants, I need to decide what to put in the trough now. It will be something colourful for the winter and early spring.
grannygravy the petting farm sounds interesting, did your GS and GD enjoy it?
Enjoy the rest of the evening everyone. I’m watching the opening ceremony of the Paralympics, a bit more traditional so far than the Olympics a few weeks ago!

Grandmabatty Wed 28-Aug-24 20:28:43

Jaxjacky I don't feel very dynamic! I'm currently lying on the couch contemplating a very very early bed where I can read and sip tea. I'm sorry that your back is still playing up. Grannygravy that petting zoo sounds lovely. Dgc here would enjoy it too. Doodle can I offer you a virtual hug? 🤗 Redcar I'm at a similar stage with my raised beds and pots. I love some winter colours. It'll be bulb planting soon too.

The Alien film wasn’t bad. We gave it 6/10 and thought it was one film too many in the franchise.

Scapa1 Wed 28-Aug-24 20:47:34

Grandamabatty I love having macaroni and chips at Torwood, a half portion of course 🤣. DH doesn’t like it.

Grandmabatty Wed 28-Aug-24 20:58:44

Scapa, I only had macaroni cheese in the end. No oven chips nor potatoes to make air fryer chips. Torwood do very nice breakfast and soups too. I haven't been for a while. Ladyleftfieldlover I've watched them all so far, including the predator and alien combinations.

We’ve watched them all too! Our cat Ripley is named after the Sigourney Weaver character.

Just thinking if you all, especially those feeling sad and worried with what life is throwing at you.
Dear Soop I really hope you and Mr Soop receive some news soon, then you can move forward 💐.
Today for the first time since DH passed I went and helped at our Church Coffee Morning , rather emotional as we both used to help but another step forward..... Tomorrow I'm helping my friend who runs a flower farm, so again another step forward... Its hard and I do feel I'm just filling in time but I feel it's better than moping at home... who knows, no right nor wrong on this journey...
Fondest love to each and everyone of you. Smell the roses 🌹🌹....

Doodle Wed 28-Aug-24 22:39:23

Grandmabatty virtual hug most welcome thank you.
NannyG4 glad you’re getting out and doing things, it’s not easy and I know exactly what you mean about filling in time but it’s the only way forward. 💕

Grandmabatty Thu 29-Aug-24 13:49:22

I have brought a bloomer loaf, freshly made this morning. Washing on the line, some garden baskets and tubs emptied and I've washed all the cushion covers too. House is hoovered and I've even washed down some kitchen cupboard doors. I'm swithering about bringing out the autumn decorations but it's still only august, so I'll try to resist. Peanut butter cookies later perhaps. They take hardly any time at all. The weather is quite changeable but fingers crossed that the washing is dry before any rain. Enjoy your day all

brook2704 Thu 29-Aug-24 15:30:51

Good afternoon kitchen pals, that looks delicious grandmabatty, enjoy as you’ve certainly earned it - you’ve been very busy again today Hang fire on the autumn decorations though - I’m hoping it warms up again soon!
There’s been more washing on the line here today, I’ve also cleaned all the holiday shoes and sandals as they were really dusty.
I’ve done my volunteering session at the hospital and really enjoyed it. Yesterday I got a big box of stuff from DD2s that she doesn’t want any more so I’ve been sorting through it into 3 piles - the bin, charity shop and eBay so things to list later. Her house sale is still progressing at a snails pace but she’s being very patient
I hope those sitting quietly in the kitchen are doing ok, especially Doodle ❤️ and a very well done in getting out and about a bit nannyG4, one step at a time x
