Ds1 is safely under our roof tonight. ❤️
I saw Rylan (former talent show competitor and now dj/tv presenter) at the airport, so that was a bonus moment
Sleep well, all. I probably won’t as GD is also here and likely to wake me up well before dawn. 😂

Soop's special Kitchen for kindly folk.
(1001 Posts)Welcome! Thank you all for making our Kitchen a super-special gathering place.
Enjoy!
and hugs galore.
Good morning all.
How happy you must be SueD to have your son at home with you.
Enjoy his visit and Urms happily anticipating her family holiday.
I took my friend out for a belated meal last night after the abortive riots, it was lovely, super food and super staff.
I hope it can become a regular venue for us.
I am determined to get out as much asI can and not let my family situation get me down any more.
I am out tonight with my friend across the road to our favourite Italian, long established and family run.
Next Wednesday I am going to stay with a very old , in both senses, she lives near Nottingham .
I shall go on the train and my GD has offered to drive over to pick me up, as Saturday travel is busy and often disrupted on that service.
My friend is a wonderful hostess and a talented cook, I shall be well looked after.
Kindest thought to you all, you all so supportive to each other in this lovely kitchen.
How lovely to hear you’re getting out and about ann good for you, enjoy every minute!
I’ve just hung a load of washing out and it’s started raining - it was sunny 10 mins ago! Cant decide if to get it in or leave it as it might blow over …. Oh blummin heck it’s really heavy now ☔️
Have a lovely time with your DS*SueD*, the kittens will need to take a back seat for a while!
To be honest those are mostly stubs of lipstick for when I can be bothered to do the whole lip lining and filling in palaver, not very often now.
When I came into our kitchen I went all misty-eyed. So many birthday good wishes. I am overwhelmed. A HUGE than you for making our kitchen super-special.
We enjoyed a very happy day. Simple pleasures. Good company, Many, many phone calls. To be honest, I am not yet fully recovered.
Here is my 83rd birthday pic. We were about to leave home to share an evening meal with our good pals. We dined at a small restaurant in the small fishing village of Tarbert. Excellent!!!!
I shall be back with you again tomorrow. About to put my feet up and watch athletes giving their all for their team at the Olympics.
Big group hug...and yet again, THANK YOU for your kindness.
Photo playing silly B's. Will try to rectify problem.
A lovely photo Soop
Such a lovely photo of a lovely lady.
So pleased for you that your day was a good one.
You look very serene and also happy soop, an excellent birthday photo. I’m pleased you had a super day, enjoy your Olympics viewing.
You sound better ann, relieved to hear you so up beat.
We’ve had an unexpected if very windy couple of hours on the beach. Our not so Littlest and his minders decided on an outing, down we went to join them and had a happy couple of hours. It doesn't take a lot to cheer me and that certainly has.
Have a good evening everyone.
What a beautiful photo Soop! Those earrings are magnificent.
First time on here.
Happy birthday Soop!!
You look stunning.
Won’t share a pic I might scare the horses 😂

urms have a wonderful holiday in your happy place with your family!
A lovely warm sunny day here, but a bit windy. It’s going to be a hot few days for us in essex.
Have a good evening everyone.
Good evening, Soop and lovely Kitchen people!🥰
Soop, that stunning photo deserves a beautiful frame and pride of place in your home. You are looking wonderful and well, that colour really suits you, it's one of my favourites too.
Thank you brook, I finally solved the issue and finished The Wee Boy's school pullover late last night. Just in time, because we went through to his Nursery Graduation this afternoon and I had made up a wee gift bag with a special card and some things for school, so it was nice to include the knitting. He tried it on and it fits, hurrah!! We had a lovely afternoon, the children were very entertaining and the staff put on a wee party and buffet for all the families after the ceremony. Very kind.
SueD, enjoy having your DS with you, have a great family time.
Annsixty, I'm glad to hear that you're getting out and about with friends, and that you've found a venue that you want to return to, that's a big recommendation. I hope your family situation improves, if possible, if not you are doing the best thing by making your own life as positive as possible.
Cornergran, sounds like your family outing to the beach has lifted your spirits, a lovelyafternoon.
Hello 👋 and welcome, Babs!
Enjoy your super weather, Redcar, we've had lots of showers and wind today but we saw a beautiful rainbow 🌈 on our drive home along the motorway. We holidayed in
St Osyth's in Essex in the early seventies, DH's father was born there, and I remember the wonderful weather, we felt like we were abroad!
Wishing everyone a peaceful weekend, TOYA, NNGB.
Soop A beautiful photo. So glad you had such a good birthday.
Soop, what a terrific photo! Your skin is radiant, your eyes twinkle and look a little mischievous! Your hairstyle is enviable also! Happy Birthday (and Many More!)
Beautiful photo, Soop.
Lovely photo Soop
Soop...if that's what being 83 looks like...bring it on. You look fabulous. A beautiful soul inside and out.
I've been a bit distracted... I'm not going to bring down the happy state of the kitchen but just not been up to posting.
Grandmarie...the graduation sounds wonderful..did you need your tissues?.
SueD... I'm so happy that you have your DS with you and that they have found a treatment for him. Enjoy your time together.
Urms...have a wonderful time with your family in your happy place...lots of memories to make.
Ann... I'm pleased that you are feeling more upbeat and looking forward to getting out and about.
Corner...the beach and the sea always lift my spirit...the sound of the seagulls here make me smile too.
Dusty... I'm still not too sure about chilled red wine....Maybe I'll have to practice 😂😂😂
Brook...I have a washing load in the basket as I write and am not sure whether to risk putting it on the line or not...grrr
Yia..Doodle... GrannyG4....You are all in my prayers.
Jax... That's just typical isn't it...no rain and then it pours on your daughter's BBQ...well done her for still cooking.
Welcome to all the new faces in the kitchen...you will be welcomed with open arms at all times....this I know...we share it all in here and it's a haven when badly needed and a go to when you have happiness to
share. This I know.
I'm going to lay low to get through the next day or so but you will all be in my thoughts.
Classic picture soop very elegant.
Happy days SueD have a wonderful time altogether.
Welcome to the new Kitchener’s this is the best place to be.
Good for you ann making plans, hope you enjoyed last night with your friend.
Football on TV today, MrJ’s team, Finley was coming to watch, but he was poorly yesterday, we’ll see.
We have a family bbq tomorrow, it’s due to be very warm, different from the rainy one!
I’m sure Urms is having a marvellous time with her family.
I hope Blossoming is keeping well, I miss her trips to the water and the trains.
Good morning Soop and lovely Kitchen people. 🥰
Granddog and I are reclining at opposite ends of the sofa after a wet walk! She loves getting rubbed dry with her towel! DS1 dropped her off this morning, he and DDIL1, DGS1 and DGD are off to Party at the Palace ( Linlithgow) this weekend, I hope they get better weather than we've got.🎶🤞🌞 Lots of 80s' bands today, ABC, Big Country, UB40...
Good to hear from you, Neine, I did have my tissues at the ready but I managed to keep smiling. Hoping and praying 🙏 that whatever you're going through soon resolves and the next few days are manageable.
Enjoy your sunny bbq tomorrow Jaxjacky, DGD returns to school on Wednesday and we've had a miserable summer.
Hoping the sun ☀ shines on all on their holidays or meeting up with grandchildren. Not long now, brook?
Thinking of Doodle, Baggs, NannyG4 and all with sorrow to bear.
Also remembering YiaYia, Dusty and all who are worried about the health of loved ones.
Love to Blossoming, Cornergran and all dealing with their own health issues.
TOYA 💐🙏
Wishing everyone the best weekend possible.
I'm just down the road from Linlithgow, * Grannmarie*. It's dry, sunny in spells and very windy. I hope they have a nice time. I'm just home from breakfast at the local garden centre which was delicious, as usual. Olympic watching ahead
Good afternoon all.
A dulling day here but dry and not chilly.
I hope all the families out and about get decent weather for outdoor activities and enjoy it all.
I am going for coffee with my neighbour up the road later and hope to sit outside.
I have only spoken on the phone for the last couple of weeks so a catch up will be good.
Last night outing was very nice, good food as always but my, it was expensive, it was my friend’s choice, she likes it and goes with family but she is considerably better off than me and doesn’t have to think twice about cost. We probably went about 6 months ago and the prices had certainly gone up.
The pub I went to on Thursday was half the price and just as good and I felt, considerably more relaxed, so I have suggested it for our next outing.
I am on my second morning coffee and must think about a meal.
Something plain (and cheap),appeals after eating out twice.
Have the best day you can everyone.
