Mizuna, I love the sound of your garden! Be careful! We added another foot to our garden last week, when DH cut back the trees and bushes!
Yesterday, y plans for a quick visit to Silverburn to return a top to M&S did not go quite to plan.
The main road ( yet another one!!!) was being closed off just as I came through a major junction. I knew exactly where the diversion would lead me and I began to feel very anxious. It meant going through a four lane roundabout, which I have spent my whole, driving life avoiding.
However, I am on a mission at the moment to restore the confidence I lost after not been able to drive during my two years of shielding. I am relying on DH too much and need to address it in case anything happens to him. 😱
I got to M&S and realised that the receipt I had brought to exchange the jumper was not for a jumper, but for a loaf and hot cross buns. 😭 Heaven knows where I have put it.
However, I was sure that in this day of hi tech, there should be a way of retrieving proof of purchase. I was relieved that M&S was really quiet, so I wouldn't be causing any queues to form.
A very helpful assistant asked me to open up my Sparks App and she would retrieve the info. At this point, I looked behind me and a huge queue had formed. The next thing, a woman came up as the assistant and I were trying to get into my phone, she nudged me out of the way and complained that she was in a hurry and demanded that she be served. I was shocked at her rudeness.
The assistant informed her that she had called for assistance, but the customer wanted served now!! How can people be so rude?
Eventually, the assistant got into the phone and it died! Despite, thinking it had charged all night, it hadn't. 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
I still haven't had my refund. I shall have to return with a fully charged phone.
This mishap did not stop me indulging myself in the sale. I had spotted a pair of cerise ballet pumps in M&S in Argyll Street, but they had every size, but mine. An assistant spotted me wandering aimlessly around the shoe department and asked if she could help. Back she came with the only pair they had in my size, a result.
I was delighted, despite the fact that I did not need yet another pair of shoes!
Unfortunately, the bleeding feet from my adventures in Glasgow are not healing, despite umpteen dressings, so my wanderings were curtailed. I was struggling to walk, they are so painful and swollen, due to my heart problems.
I got back to the car, plugged a USB lead into my phone (always a techie) and phoned DH, who was was frantic because I hadn't checked in. I usually put on the tracker, when I am out, that way he doesn't worry that I have taken ill. The only downside is that despite my denials, he can see every shop I have been in. 😂
It was then that I saw that I had just enough petrol to get home! This is so unlike me. I have become a silly and forgetful old woman! I am saddened at how this once independent woman has recently become quite vulnerable.
However, my day did get better. As I was resting dozing, I received a phone call from the surgery pharmacist, agreeing that my ridiculous number of medications are very difficult to manage and that they were going to try and sync as many as possible. That should save the numerous and stressful journeys to the far side of Paisley.
I intend to potter about today. I have some hems to take up, it is a curse being vertically challenged. DD also needs jeans altered, Could the hem be finished off with yellow thread, just like Levis!
Then of course, I need to open up church for the Vigil Mass.
