Taking my life in my hands as this is bound to be a contentious issue and I foresee the deletions flying thick and fast…
Here goes

If you had to choose only one out of these to eat for the rest of your life - and the other never again, which would it be?

Cheese 🧀 or chocolate 🍫

(And for the aficionados - which variety?)

Jane43 Wed 14-Aug-24 09:00:30

Cheese definitely.

Grannybags Wed 14-Aug-24 09:13:32

Definitely cheese for me too. Mature Cheddar please!

Chocolatelovinggran Wed 14-Aug-24 09:37:58

Oh goodness- my name tells you all you need to know .
Sorry, cheese- it's been lovely spending time with you, but...

Smileless2012 Wed 14-Aug-24 09:40:25

Cheese for me.

biglouis Wed 14-Aug-24 09:50:50

Cheese - and I love most varieties except the mouldy versions which come when you call them.

Chocolate can get very sickly after a while.

Sago Wed 14-Aug-24 09:51:31

Cheese!
Otherwise I would miss out on so many lovely dishes, lasagne, cauliflower cheese, pizza.
The thought of never having fresh crusty bread smeared with room temperature Epoisses😱.
You can keep your chocolate.

Shinamae Wed 14-Aug-24 09:57:23

Definitely cheese, I can’t remember the last time I had some chocolate because chocolate is not how it used to be and I can honestly say I wouldn’t miss the chocolate we’ve got these days unless you want to pay over the top and go for luxury brand, but I can’t afford that so for me, it’s cheese all the way.
Vintage cheddar

As I have a rare allergy/intolerance of the bacterium that changes Milk into creme fraiche, yogurt and cheese this is a no brainer for me. A mere bite of any of these resulted in a week of very upset stomach. When I was pregnant with my 1st DD my GP explained that Dark Chocolate contained as much iron as the prescribed iron pills, (which caused constipation) it has been a staple of my diet and a lovely treat ever since.

Cheese. Without a doubt. Can't imagine life without a cheese and pickle sandwich or a toasties.Strong English Cheddar.I do like chocolate but has to be dark and good quality. So Cheese please for me !

henetha Wed 14-Aug-24 10:21:06

Chocolate. But I fully intend to cheat and eat cheese secretly.

Visgir1 Wed 14-Aug-24 10:21:26

Chocolate for me.. Can't remember last time I eat cheese, think Christmas.

Chocolatelovinggran Wed 14-Aug-24 10:22:45

Oh henetha, I'll join you on the naughty step for that.

Baggs Wed 14-Aug-24 11:03:11

Does raw cocoa count?

Moggycuddler Wed 14-Aug-24 11:40:31

Cheese. A nice cambazola.

Dee1012 Wed 14-Aug-24 11:47:08

Cheese...a BIG slice of Brie

boheminan Wed 14-Aug-24 11:47:31

A 'bite-you-back' cheddar every time ... well, apart from when Gruyere beckons

pen50 Wed 14-Aug-24 11:47:53

I don't actually like cheese...

I don't eat a lot of chocolate either.

Now if you'd asked me to choose between ice cream and prawns....

She777 Wed 14-Aug-24 11:59:19

cheese and it would be mature Cheddar, followed by strong crumbly Lancashire, bit of Bleasdale….must buy some crackers.

RosesandLilac Wed 14-Aug-24 12:04:52

Definitely cheese, preferably Cornish cracker eaten with pickle, a homegrown tomato and crispbread.

Wyllow3 Wed 14-Aug-24 12:11:43

Cheese.

SueDoku Wed 14-Aug-24 12:15:56

Cheese, definitely. I like chocolate, but can manage without it without too many withdrawal symptoms 😁
Cheese is a different matter - I use it a lot in cooking, and it's so versatile (baked potato and grated cheese for a quick and effortless snack anyone?) I've always got at least 4 types in the fridge - strong cheddar, blue, a soft cheese like brie or camembert + pecorino to grate on pasta dishes or risotto). Yum..!! 😁

winterwhite Wed 14-Aug-24 12:18:36

Not sure that this is ever going to be likely contingency😂 but may be as well to be prepared.... chocolate

clairefraser1 Wed 14-Aug-24 12:19:44

Sadly I can eat neither cheese nor chocolate despite loving them both

fancythat Wed 14-Aug-24 12:23:57

No contest. Chocolate.

Anemonemenome Wed 14-Aug-24 12:25:10

All the cheese, please
