Lovely thank you.
Problems in Harry and Meghan Marriage
So it begins….. Streeting resigns
By special request, let’s discuss our favourite Classic Music and why?
Good Morning Everyone,
Its dry but grey with signs of overnight rain here in brackley this morning.
Up to my usual routine etc on the bus to Bicester ,return and watch cycling on TV.
Take Care,
Mick
Lovely thank you.
Feelingmyage I'll post a photo of the cake in tomorrow's Good Morning thread.
Good morning. It is windy and sunny, washing out and my coffee break. After a few days at a family meet up, I am hoarse, not having seen so many folks since before Covid. Planning a quiet day.
Happy bithday to your mum granmabatty. Cake photo?
Good morning from a dull Black Country, where it rained overnight.
Arrived home from Dorset yesterday afternoon, after a lovely12 days away. Keane were absolutely fabulous at the Glastonbury Extravaganza on Sat 3rd Aug. We sat next to and chatted to a couple next to us. Turns out she is an author, and I have found her books on Amazon, so may well download one.
Then we made our way with the caravan to a site near Lyme Regis and spent a lovely 8 days exploring, relaxing on beach etc. We booked an extra 2 days as the weather forecast was good for Monday.
Just back this morning from a blood text. Right arm wouldn't give enough, so he had to try the left, which was successful luckily!
Off to Mums soon, as she has an appointment regarding her hearing aids. She can hardly hear with both sets (one is NHS) so I suspect wax in her ears.
Then over to DD's as it is school holidays so she is home!
Wishing you all the best day possible.
Thank you monk.
And I forgot to send best wishes for your mum's 90th Grandmabatty - a grand age to achieve, but as you say it's a shame she's not in better health to appreciate it
Your GGS looks adorable Taichinan. Hope your GS1 has a great first day at school Grandmabatty and your mother was able to enjoy her 90th.
Good morning from a cool but sunny Co Armagh
I’ve a committee meeting this morning , I hope to get rid of my post as minutes secretary, I’m too scattered to keep up these days
I hope the sun lasts so I can sit out for a while
Best wishes for an enjoyable day to all
Good morning all and it’s sunny and very still. Hopefully cooler ! 🤞.
Dh is off fishing and Dd and littldgd are coming over late morning. I’m not sure what we’ll do , but take it as it comes. We could catch the train into Southend , see a film, go to the beach, play crazy golf. Or we could just stay home and bake, craft and play games.
Yesterday we had a hilarious play reading session. Good fun!
Bridge club was busy and of course we had cake. One of our ladies had a birthday , 97yrs young. She’s amazing! Still got her wits about her and plays a good game. That’s two ladies in their 90’s who are more than ‘on the ball’.
Hope all the appointments go well and good luck to children starting/returning to school. Ours still have 2/3 more weeks of holidays.
Yes Liberty A level results tomorrow. Good luck to them all. 🍀.
Take care 🌸
Good morning all from a somewhat fresher North Wiltshire. It’s still 26°c in the bedroom though so fan stayed on at a very low setting overnight.
After a brilliant week with both the youngest GC’s (separately) last week, GS2 was out of sorts and grumpy yesterday. It made for a difficult day. He’s starting at a new nursery in September but seems anxious about it. GD3 was her usual sunny self when she was collected from her gymnastics holiday class on Monday.
Not a lot on today but I will probably make lentil soup.
Lovely picture of your GS’s Bellasnanna. Have a good day all.
Good morning from Sunnyside northwest coast.
I so enjoyed the music club yesterday after an absence and found it was my turn to be ‘on the desk’ in charge. It was a good turnout and I sang some new songs. We have a poet one has to be firm with.
Off for my MOT this morning 🤞and might have a walk in the sand dunes.
I’m really enjoying the TV my daughter set up in my bedroom, I turned in early and watched Mr.Selfridge (late catching up with that) and then listened to Vaughan Williams symphony No.5, one of my favourites, on YouTube.
Glad you had such a lovely day gm and thoughts to all🌺
Loved photo Taichinan
Good morning all from the Black country rain overnight which has left a much fresher start to the day.
It sounds like you had a lovely day with your DGD grandMattie.
Small local shop then back to housework and ironing.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans, thoughts with missing posters and I hope all medical appointments go well☀️.
Greyduster A Cauliflower in a pram! I have a mental picture of that and it's so funny. Someone looking in your pram expecting to see a sweet baby and beholds a cauliflower! I sometimes wake during the night laughing at my own daft dreams!
Good morning all. A glorious day with not a cloud in the sky over the Angus coast. Yesterday we had torrential showers - but luckily I was inside during each one - and the countryside and gardens are looking the better for them.
Glad you had such a lovely day with your granddaughter Grandmattie.
I hope all goes well with you today Llfl, and with your husband's knee baubles.
My day yesterday was of course lovely with DD et al. They are all off to Gran Canaria today for a week and of course very excited! I managed to get a sneaky little consultation with the hearing man at Boots between his other appointments and the offending hearing aid has been sent away for repair. I shall be struggling and asymmetric for the next ten days or so, but it's a quiet (very!) time coming up, so that's lucky.
So, today will be a quiet day! The towels from the weekend are already washed and dried so today is the turn of the bedding. Then I shall potter and laze and generally enjoy my peace and quiet. And I'll no doubt enjoy the photos of my great-grandson again from the weekend. Attached - I hope - is a photo of 9 months old Ollie paddling at the Seafront Splash.
Enjoy your day x
Good morning all it's only 8°C here in Glasgow!
GM, it sounds as if you had a lovely day yesterday.
Baubles, I am sorry to hear that your DH needs to see the surgeon, but excellent news that he is seeing someone so quickly.
Llfl, I shall be thinking of you today and praying for a positive outcome.
GMB best wishes to your mum and I hope your DGS gets on O.K. Dollie goes back to school today and is very anxious, afraid of her scary new teacher. We have had a few tears and a number of heart to hearts. 😢
Yesterday, as part of my mission to not sit and home and feel sorry for myself, I took myself off to Glasgow for a wander.
Just as I was leaving, I went into the utility room, only to find it was flooded. There was water everywhere, coming from the washing machine.
Shouting for DH who is not deaf was a complete waste of time. 🤬 After clearing up the worst of it, I marched in to the lounge, to find him reading the news on his phone!
As a result, I made the train by the skin of my teeth, due to a gentleman, who had blocked the entrance to the car park, waiting for someone coming off the train. He refused to move along, and when the person arrived off the train, they couldn't get in the car, because the doors were locked and he was totally oblivious.
I was fuming at his entitlement, especially as my car was jutting out onto the main road.
On the train, I thought I would update the Glesca Grannies chat and put in the date of the next meet up. I was so flustered I put in the wrong date! Thank you Baubles for noticing and for being so understanding.
My day got worse, when trying on a dress in J.L, I realised I had lost my earring (the third in a week) , what made it worse that it was part of a favourite set, which I had been given as a gift. 😢
Coming out of Buchanan Galleries, I came across a pipe band, here for the championships. There was a huge crowd listening to this stirring music. It really lifted my mood.
After checking, I think the surgery may have managed to sync most of my meds, so I am off to brave the road closures to get the prescriptions.
Tonight, I am duty sacristan for the Feast of the Assumption vigil Mass. A busy day again.
Have a good day folks.
P,S I found the missing earring, I had never put it on in the first place. 🤣
Good morning from a thankfully cooler Suffolk. Last night was unpleasantly hot and sticky. Some rain would be good but none forecast I think.
Awaiting DGD’s A level results tomorrow along with thousands of others. I realised the other day that we will be awaiting DGC’s exam results every year for the next 8 years!
Good luck to all those awaiting their results tomorrow and GCSEs next week.
No keep fit during August so I’ll be joining DH on his walk with the little dog shortly.
I hope if it doesn’t get too hot later to do a little weeding etc before retiring to the summerhouse and an afternoon with my latest library book.
Hope today is a peaceful one for all.
Morning everyone 🙋♀️ it’s 15° here in S E Essex, overcast with a high of 25° allegedly the sun will make an appearance around 5pm.
My back is still rather sore (too much swimming along with water slides and various activities with the GC last week) I shall go to the gym, but limit myself in what I do.
Hope your mum is aware of her birthday grandmabatty 🎂
Have a great day everyone 🙋♀️
Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny Carlisle.
Yesterday's trip to Newcastle didn't happen. Having checked beforehand, I knew there were problems on the line but went to the station anyway as my train was still supposed to be happening. The platform was busy as the previous train was still sitting there, broken down. 10 minutes before my train was due in, they announced it was cancelled. They must have known some time before as I subsequently found out that the line had been closed since mid-morning as there had been a fatality on it nearer to Newcastle. I went home, the later trains would make me too late for my physio appointment, just as well as they were all cancelled too until late afternoon. My physio kindly gave me a telephone interview later.
That all threw me out of gear so I pottered through the rest of the day, it was a good excuse finish my book and order the next two in the trilogy.
Today I'm off to the hairdresser shortly for my quarterly haircut and blow dry after which I'll go and yield to the temptations of M&S's food hall, collect a prescription, deliver more books to Oxfam's bookstore and treat myself to coffee.
I hope to be out in the garden planting after lunch.
Have a good day everyone.
Good morning from a sunny NE, forecast is for 19 degrees today.
Yesterday was pleasant until after lunch then the rain started.
I went shopping with my friend and then had an afternoon watching films.
DS sent fabulous photos of the aurora he took on Monday night, he even captured the Perseids in one of them. He is lucky to live within easy driving distance of a reservoir where there is no light pollution.
Sister and BIL will visit this afternoon.
You all seem to have such busy days, enjoy.
Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Looks like a lovely day.
I shall be inside crafting most of the day which is a waste, but not complaining.
I slept badly again even though I was tired. I went to the folk club where we had visitors from Germany and Canada. almost All the Scottish ballads were sung.
Wishing your DM a happy birthday Grandmabatty and your DGS a good first day at school.
My littlest will have a new teacher and be in P3. Though it's a small school and the classes are composites.
Hope today goes well for you Llfl and Baubles
What a lot you fitted in in a day gMattie
Wishing everyone some joy today.
Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a very wet South Yorkshire. We’ve had a lot of rain overnight which should top my water butt up nicely. I cleaned inside windows and did a lot of ironing yesterday, and I had a night of very weird dreams involving DH, a gas meter and a cauliflower in a pram! Must stop eating cheese at bedtime. GS messaged me last night just as I was dropping off to sleep to tell me about his day😩!
Writers group today at the library.
Have the best day you can folks.
Good morning from an overcast W Kent. Now back after an overnight break staying at a lovely old pub in Tenterden. Quiet day today DH off to the Drs for a blood test.
Happy birthday to the 90 year old
Best wishes for the hospital appointments
Good morning from Durham. After refreshing rain last night, we are in for a mostly sunny day, temperatures rising to 21.
I’ve not much on today, but I’ll take Little Dog back to DD2 and nip to the shops on my way back. I need a kick up the bum housework wise, but there’s only me to see it!
I noted a couple of GNs had issues yesterday - one had fallen from a ladder and another’s DGD was in an RTC - I hope there’s some improvement today.
Best wishes to all. X
Morning, high cloud here in S Hants where it’s vaguely damp, we need proper rain.
A delightful day gMattie, the two ends of life Gbatty.
I planted a dwarf buddlea this year and the bees are flocking to it, sadly only a few butterflies.
Bar a few beetroot and some prolific sweet peas I cleared out the raised veg bed yesterday, it’ll be composted before winter.
🦩🦩
Good morning from a beautiful sunny Glasgow!
Envious of ur lovely day with ur GD grandMattie….my granddaughter is still young and lives overseas but when I do get her to myself it is the best of times! ❤️
We are also celebrating a 90th birthday today Grandmabatty and are heading down the coast to drop off a pressie for my DH aunt. Her party is on Saturday It will be lovely to see all the family from far and wide.
A successful garden centre visit yesterday with beautiful bedding plants reduced to next to nothing. I just wanted a wee show for all the family visiting for the party ( I have standards 😜). Not so much fun planting them in torrential rain though!
Hope everyone’s day is a good one xx
